Having surgery Wednesday. Got myself a leg pillow, not his cause too expensive and 3 ice pack wraps so I can cycle them and also got a crutch bag to help carry things while I walk on my crutches. Also getting a thermometer to monitor my temperature and a mini fridge for the ice packs

Very helpful 👍 thanks for sharing. I just had a knee surgery 15 days ago. My knee is still swollen 😭 and am in pain day and night, haven't slept for 9 straight days. I asked my surgery to give me a stronger pain killer today, hopefully i get relief from the pain and will be able to sleep in the night without pain.

@@Famvestor Yes, the new Surgeon i went to did Akupunktur on me last week, but unfortunately no fluid came out, it's either the effusion or scar tissue has hardened up, so it was unsuccessful. Akupunktur is a very painful procedure without anesthesia.
She requested i get another MRT Scan done which is this coming week to see if it's effusion that has hardened up or scar tissue making it difficult for me to bend my knee.
The Problem is that 70 degrees knee bend after a month of knee surgery is really bad. And my knee joint is still slightly swollen making it difficult to get a better knee bend.
According to her if the MRT Scan result shows that it's effusion that has hardened up, i might have to get another Arthroscopy surgery done on my knee to Rinse out the trapped effusion that has hardened up in my knee.
That scared the hell out of me, a second Anthroskopy surgery on same knee ( i guess i would not have a knee after the second surgery ). Am praying it wouldn't come to that, hoping there would be another way out to get the fluid out.
I have heard about Mobilisation Under Anesthesia (MUA) to help the knee bend. But i don't know if they practice that treatment here in Germany.
However I have to get the MRT Scan done first this coming Friday to know the outcome and which treatment recommendation the MRT Scan ( or the Surgeon ) will suggest.
May I ask, have you been able to get a full knee extension bend since your knee surgery?
How long did it take before the swollen around your knee joint completely went away?
I discovered after doing stretches, my knee joint will get more swollen. Am using cool pack.

@@Famvestor i will try and keep updating on this thread hoping it would or might help someone else going through my exact situation. I will be getting another Arthroscopy surgery done on my "same" right knee a second time to clean out the effusion and hematoma debris.
In one of my comment i left on your videos, i stated that my knee range of motion was 70 degrees bend, but it has since gone up to 90 degrees knee bend.
As i mentioned in my previous comment, the surgeon who operated on me didn't do a good check up on me after knee surgery. I was complaining of extreme Pain and swolleness, but he ignored my complains and didn't even check my knee and said it was normal.
Fast forward, a new surgeon i finally went to performed an Aspiration on my knee more than a week ago, but the hematoma and joint effusion has already hardened up.
She later sent me to get an MRT Scan, result came out that i have a massive effusion on my knee as well as old hematoma after the surgery making it difficult to bend my knee over and also the reason why my knee is still swollen and painful.
Now that the effusion and hematoma has hardened up, according to the new Surgeon and another one i just visited yesterday at our University Training Hospital in Nürnberg, unfortunately a second Arthroscopy surgery would have to be done on my knee to clean out the effusion and hematoma debris.
My next Surgeon appointment is in March 2023. At this point, I have to be strong and overcome my fear. I have searched and searched for videos of those whose "same knee" has been Arthroscoped a second time ( just so i know what to expect ), but i couldn't find any on UA-cam.

@@doroth215hi, how's your knee now? Any update since the second arthroscopy? I'm currently going through the same situation 5 months post-op. I cannot achieve full extension since the day I had surgery until this day. And knee bending stopped at 90 degrees. I still go to physiotherapy everyday and they forcefully bend my knee with excruciating pain, although no progress is made.

How much do you think the cooling helped with the pain, i.e. reducing the need for pain killers?
My doc told me that cooling isn't that useful and I should keep it minimal. I did find quite a few studies that report reduced pain with cooling (and compression) after ACL and meniscus surgeries. I think you said in one of your videos, that you took very little medication, which probably thanks to the cooling, is that correct?
