I’m on day 3 and the pain is finally getting better. I have some movement in my feet and toes. I can’t even put no pressure at all on my foot. It’s hard work!!!!!
A couple things. When getting in the car not only slide the seat back but lean it back. Also it’s a very bad idea to wear flip flops when using crutches. It’s very easy to stumble and take a fall.
Goated yo hahaha. I just got mcl surgery and I have to keep my knee straight but any slight movements hurt so scared to shit needed to see how I could 🤣😂.

Hmm thats a tough one, having done shave on my right knee and repair on my left. Right was definetly a smoother faster recovery, but supposedly it might lead to issues later since less cushion... at this point I would probably recommend shave... but your surgeon should know best...

Bro I’m over here going through these videos like they’re my bible, just had my surgery 6 days ago.
Me too bro. I just had the surgery last week. I'm going through it rn. This shit is not easy. How are you feeling ??
Hey acl and meniscus repair friends, I had acl patellar graft reconstruction and meniscus repair surgery four days ago. (10/2/23). Yea the pain of recovery is awful!
When did y’all shower and did y’all shower with or without protecting the incisions?
Day one had me fighting the air.
On day 3 and I’m feeling better. Once you get ahead of the pain stay ahead of it with medication and ice.
Yes definitely. Ice and elevate.
I’m on day 3 and the pain is finally getting better. I have some movement in my feet and toes. I can’t even put no pressure at all on my foot. It’s hard work!!!!!
Good luck. Hope things are going better.
A couple things. When getting in the car not only slide the seat back but lean it back. Also it’s a very bad idea to wear flip flops when using crutches. It’s very easy to stumble and take a fall.
Good points.
Use a small step stool or storage tote flipped upside down to prop your leg on when sitting on the toilet. Much more comfortable 😀
Goated yo hahaha. I just got mcl surgery and I have to keep my knee straight but any slight movements hurt so scared to shit needed to see how I could 🤣😂.
Good luck!
Bro wtf this dude is light years ahead of me. I'm still struggling going down the stairs.
Day 5 I was definetly struggling still too. Keep going it gets better!
I’m 3 days in and the pain is crazy
@@amoneyfilms18 Damn I'm sorry bro. My hospital hook me up with a nerve blocker and three days' worth of it. It was the only thing getting me through.
Just went through my first day being on my knee brace post-op, and thankfully I didn't need to take a number 2 yet, so tysm for showing a way to do it lol 😂😅🙏
I have a week since my surgery everything is going well so far. I use only cane to walk around. I still feel like my knee is weak. Still feel my knee tight.
Gracias por tus videos , me están sirviendo de motivación y de mucha ayuda para lo que se me viene el 3 de octubre que es mi cirugía de ACL , llámame loco pero estoy practicando todos tus movimientos 😂
Sounds good! Good luck on your tecovery!
Going through this tomorrow, I hope all goes well
Good luck! How’s it go?
Hey man I’m on day 2 it feels tight but that how the hospital did my brace dont want to mess up my stitches,Did you use like a toilet raiser?
Very useful, thank you man.
Thanks Yu. Good luck on your recovery journey.
Anyone dealing with nerve pain on the inside of the entire leg??? On day 7. Had acl with meniscus reconstruction.
Is it still there?
I’m 3 days in ACL and Meniscus. I’m able to use the restroom without the brace.
Stomach hasn’t been cooperative.
getting my surgery soon but i’m getting on my right knee.. will driving be okay the next day after surgery
Why don’t you put weight on you leg? I did meniscus and acl and was told by doctor to start walking if I could
Your meniscus was probably shaved. If you stitch it up you can’t immediately walk on it.
@@Famvestor it was stitched up with 2 stitches, maybe this is a new recommendation from now days, I’m in day 20 and walking without brace or crutches, hurts at moments and still get swollen, but I’m walking every day at least 5 blocks
@@franciscaaravena2065I was given the same instruction. currently day 6 in and can put full weight on my leg and walk short distances
My lying down on bed can u tell me how long I have to elevated my leg and don’t elevated my leg it’s very hard for me to go to restroom and when I saw your video. It looks so easy. What I can’t even go alone to the restroom they can put my leg in the air. It’s the day five. It’s very hard for me.
Thank you so much for the tips an tricks man but my doc said not to move my leg for 3-4 day
Yea every doc is different, hope recovery is goign well.
Couple of hours now after my surgery and I’m ok no pain yet. I say it was worse the first week when I got injured. But will see tomorrow. When did you get leg brace?
I woke up from surgery with the leg brace on.
Seriously, can we drive our car by ourself 3 day after acl+meniscus surgery? Right now is my 4th days after surgery, but unfortunately I have car with manual transmission
Oh yea with manual trans that’s going to be a while….
Can any one tell me when will the doctor remove the steel staple that is used to stitch and can I start bending before removing my steel staples..
Hmm I didn’t have steel staples just stitches. But was bending before they were removed. Give your doctor a call.
Hey man did you get a hamstring graft for your meniscus repair? I tried sifting thru all the comments and couldn’t see anything haha, thanks!
Yep Hamstring graft on both knees.
I am going to do my ACL surgery next week and i really wanted to know about the after facts and i really want to be prepared mentally as this is my 1st ever surgery. Thank you so much for sharing your experience here.
Your welcome and I wish you the best of luck! I’ll be posting my two week progress video tonight.
@@Famvestor Really waiting for that one!
Be prepared go through hell first day won’t be bad until the nerve blockers wear off then it’s a unbearable pain for the next two days Make sure you take the painkillers they give you But each day gets better I’m currently on my 2nd ACL surgery
@@150nolimit8 Thankyou. Preparing mentally!
@@150nolimit8 2nd on same knee or opposite knee. This was my second too!
Did you ice a lot? Both times I didn’t need the oxycodone, just Tylenol. We’re you hamstring graft?
Day 5 for me post op, I’m a little surprised my doctor hasn’t start me on physical therapy yet
Lucky dog man mine was my right knee so I can’t drive anywhere of course 🤦♂️
That’s rough.
I have a question…did you drive with your right leg? I torn my right acl
Yes surgery on my left leg. And driving with my right leg.
@@Famvestor did you also tear you right ACL ? If you did how did you drive?
Never drive avoid driving for 3-4 weeks no intense workout like pull or anything else its a long journey go easy for first month work hard when get better heal 1st month is the worst
Day 3 for me! And i am told to not step on the ground for 4 weeks 😢
I’m on day 6 now (acl recon), a lot of stiffness and pain in the hamstring especially when getting up on the crutches
Day 6 is still quite early. Make sure you are elevating when you can.
Hi bro, today is my 1st week post surgery acl, meniscus & cartiliage. Now i have this issue whenever i try to get up standing, whereby blood stream down to your foot, there is pulsating pain on my calf area, like a teribble cramp. Is this normal? And how to control this? Please enlighten. Thanks buddy
I don’t remember that specifically but standing a long time definetly hurts. So just elevate whenever possible. And always ice!!!
Im on day 1 post op. The physical pain hurts but it doesn’t hurt more than missing out on doing the things I wanna do. We’ll get through this right? Also how high should I elevate my feet
Use pillows. Try to keep your knee straight.
Hey man! How are you doing i’m 8 days post op today for my acl reconstruction and meniscus repair is it ok to start bending until 30-40 degrees of the knee? I know we have the same surgery so i just need some advice kinda weird cause my PT says i can start doing bend my knee until 60 degrees but
Yea man you should be fine to pursue 60. My surgeon just didn’t want me to go past 90 till after the first month. That was my only restriction
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure
Hey quick question does anyone feel any weird sensation internally like stuff rubbing together when walking on the leg? 1 week after op just checking if it’s something I need to be concerned about
I personally don’t remember something like that…
Hey man I just hit 1 week post op, did u experience lots of pain at week 1 and how long did it take for swelling to really start going down?
Day 10 was the big turn around point for me. Where everything got a lot more manageable
@@Famvestor You are so right, i just hit day 10 and its starting to feel much better, thank you man💯
Hello I’m on day 3 and I need to poop but I can barely get my foot off the bed it hurts so much you have any tips
I think you just have to push through the pain. Take some Tylenol and ice as much as you can it really helps with the pain.
@@Famvestor it’s so painful when I try to lift it off the bed and put it on the floor 😭
@@Famvestor I have another question is it bad to have your leg elevated all the time
@@ImtiLoCc No I think its good, keeps the swelling down and should make recovery faster.
@@ImtiLoCc Any better now?
That stomach position. Do you think it will be comfortable to sleep like that? I’m getting surgery soon and I struggle to sleep on my back. I prefer sleeping on stomach
I think it would be hard to sleep on stomach with brace andopen wounds on the front of knee.
hi, just had my surgery 3 days ago and its going well so far. i took off the bandage - do i have to wear it? they saidvi can take it off after 48hrs. it is changing color though, i am doing excercise as muchbas i can- therapy starts on day 7. hope it goes well.
Yea it’s fine to take off the bandage. Yea definetly do as much exercises as you can.
So I just had surgery four days ago, I was taking opioids and I’m curious did you feel constipation at all? And when did it stop
Yea that’s why they give you still softeners with the opioids.
I didn’t take the opioids or the stool softener. Just Tylenol.
What dose/ mg of Tylenol you took?
idk how some of yall can move and function so early on after surgery. im on day 5 and the most i can do is go to the bathroom and back to bed. my leg muscles are practically dead right now and im only able to move my foot around. the pain is still super bad even with meds and icing it throughout the day. anyone have any tips to help ease discomfort and pain?
Definitely not easy this early on. Things get way better after day 10 in my opinion. Keep icing and elevating your leg.
Hey bro did you get a meniscus shave in your right knee?
Hmm thats a tough one, having done shave on my right knee and repair on my left. Right was definetly a smoother faster recovery, but supposedly it might lead to issues later since less cushion... at this point I would probably recommend shave... but your surgeon should know best...
Im 7 days in now from my surgery and I feel depress and in so much pain still.😢
7-days is still early. I feel like day 10 was a huge turning point for me in terms of comfort. Small steps everyday!
Im on 4th week, its very hard to pass those days.. Still fighting. My physio told, i can bear weiight only after 6week... So im waiting for just 2more weeks.
Yea beginning is rough. But you should be over the worst of it now. Good luck on walking again.
Hey man , am on day 2 post acl recon and lateral meniscus partial menisectomy , is it normal for the part above your knee to twitch often?
I don’t remember mine twitching… but it did take a while like 3 weeks before I could flex it.
@@Famvestor thanks a bunch man , you a real G👑
I’m currently recovering now, I’m on day 3, it’s painful
Thanks
Welcome
how is the menicous repair progress are you 100 percent now or are still pain and sweeling ?.
I’m 10 months out now so pretty much recovered did a Olympic triathalon last weekend.
My op is happening a week Monday and I'm not allowed to drive for at least 5 month so I'm just surprised your driving on day 5
Are you sure they said 5 months? I don’t see why that should be. You should be running on it in 5 months.
@Famvestor yeah I maybe wrong though but are you in an automatic? I know that I'm getting both ACL and miniscus repair so maybe slightly longer as I also need to notify my insurance. Maybe this is something new to UK. I take it you are fully recovered now how was the walking the first time
@@marklehmann5867 ah yea that’s a lot of force for the clutch…. Didn’t consider that. Yea I’m 15 months out, done triathalons and getting ready to get back into volleyball.
Day 3 here!!! 🫣🫣
