@@Ohokk0 that's actually the new drummer ( which he's also awesome and an incredible drummer . ) The drummer that did most of their songs and that was in the band for the longest was Dave Mackintosh which is the one in the video . He did their 2nd album Sonic Firestorm all the way to their 6th album Maximum Overload . He was a heavy drummer lol .

Dude, you haven't even BEGUN to scratch the surface when it comes to amazing guitarists with unbelievably incredible solos...there is such an insane amount of shockingly talented guitarists out there that you're going to need to forget about trying to rank them as the greatest of all and going to need to rank them as greatest in pop, greatest in soft rock, hard rock, blues rock, alternative rock, heavy metal, power metal, thrash metal, etc etc!

they said nothing about whos influencing dragonforce, they said iron maiden helped pave the way to metal even being a thing (along with black sabbath and other bands from that time)

DragonForce - Fury of the Storm. The guitar work in that song blast this song's guitars out of the sky in my opinion. Li's fingers at one point actually bled while playing it.

I'm not gonna hate on Dragon Force, so I'll just say the one thing, where are they now? With that being said, I have gained a ton more respect for Herman and Sam since they started regular streaming on youtube. I hate to compare talent since it is completely subjective, but in this case, it was the likes of Murray and Smith or Downing and Tippon or a Wilton and Digarmo, that inspired young Herman and Sam. For the same distinguished accolades that I would give to Edward Van Halen for his contribution to guitar, I will stay forever Maiden.
Man, this song was a good half of my high school years. It was the end credits song for Guitar Hero 3, they had a few songs in Rock Band, and- believe it or else- on their most recent album, they did a genuinely good cover of 'My Heart Will Go On' by Celine Dion, and it is infinitely better than the original.

What really broke my brain over these guitarists was watching a little behind the scenes of them writing solos for a song.
Their guitars were hooked up to a computer so an app they were running could transcribe the notes they were playing and my man just improvised an awesome solo bit like what was in this video - high speed playing, lots of intricate notes, etc. Then as soon as he finished he says, "Nah, man. That was trash.", and he just DELETED IT! AAAAAAAAHHH!!! 😅😅😅
Just imagine how good they will be 20+ years from now.
This song came out like 20 years ago so we can see how they are doing right now, last I checked still insanely good.
You have to listen to the very first song that Dragonforce ever made, its called Valley of the Damned and its even better than you can imagine, and after listening to this, I bet that you can imagine quite a bit, ALSO, if you want to hear something a little more recent, Highway to Oblivion from their 2019 album Extreme Power Metal is also fking amazing, but trust me, there is SOOOO much more to this band than you know

Thank you for confirming my core beliefs that Herman li and Sam Totman are not only the fastest, most technical guitarists ever. If there is anyone better then I'll never believe it lol. Dragonforce formed in 99 by both guitarists and the band were formed around them. As for the drummer I'm sure he has 8 legs as he beats the bass pedal so fast if you feel upto it then any dragonforce song is worth a review

faster yes. better? subjective. More feeling? no. I still say Maiden's instrumentation has more impact from a melody and emotive. Doesn't have to be lightning fast to be impactful - e.g. Comfortably Numb is one of the greatest solo's all time. But DF def has the skill and speed to be flashy and jaw-dropping.

I always thought he was too fast his sound is muddy compared to the playing of Steve or Joe . Even Randy Rhodes omitted scales in crazy train during live performances because he thought they sounded muddy

First time I heard this band was while I was playing sonic unleashed and I was like HOLY FRICK! They got that guitar going off like a 90s polyphonic ringtone.
