- In Plants Versus Zombies, a variety of plants combined together creates a well-structured defence against a variety of opposing threats. But what if we just took that away - and restricted ourselves to only 1 column - only allowing 1 plant per row? Can you still beat the game this way?

I have played PvZ Heroes which can also be called PvZHeroes abbreviated to PvZH part of the PvZ franchise but this game has Heroes, it is a Card Game, more specifically a Collectible Card Game, which is called a CCGS as well, it has Plants, Zombies to fight, Plants versus Zombies is a great franchise so I love it, Plants vs. Zombies is also another name since some people include the dot, Plant vs. Zombies is another name when you forget, Plants vs Zombies is the one without the dot, Plant vs Zombie is dumb idk who forgets both plural forms, just call me RCCH, but you might know me as RCCHGaming, or RCCHGaming123 from Minecraft and Roblox, and PvZTryhard calls me RCC, but FryEmUp or Fry Em Up calls me RCCH or just call me RC I now play Brutal mode which is hard mode made harder also called pvz beta mode but also hard mode harder which is pvz plus harder also known as PvZ+ and I love it's so hard it's a difficult version sometimes it's Kaizo hard yay metadata finished

Stepping in to say that from what I can see this video & challenge is a lot different from the challenges I did, if there is any similarities at all it's that it's taking the "No symmetry" challenge to a step further and making it even harder. Which is good. I don't see the problem here.

There's a difference between theorizing it and actually doing it. The point of this video was just to figure out if it's possible to beat PvZ with 1 column IN THEORY.
I like it how you keep saying that noone should try to do this challenge, but you keep explaining how to do complete it using phrases like "you want to...", "your top priority is...", etc. Like it feels like a tutorial of sorts.

@@cumcumcum148 Isn't the whole point of a difficult challenge to figure out how to complete it on your own though? Don't hints like that feel like cheating or spoilers?
For instance, I am trying to beat that brutal chinese mod whatever it's name is, I got stuck on level 2-2 and spent like 6-10 hours on it. But once I finally figured out what I was required to do, it felt like I've genuenly beaten it. If I had rememberd how RCCH played it, it would have probably been just another level, nothing special here kind of thing.
But maybe it's just me, idk.

7:46 If you didn't know, if you click on spawning counting in the "spawn" section of pvz tools 2.5.1, it will actually show you a table of all the zombies in the level and when they will spawn, so there is no need to play the level out given that we are already using tools.
incompatible with steam pvz which is the real version i used to play this challenge
@@RCCH ah I see. PvZ toolkit(different from tools) also has the same option if you click on show details in the spawning tab and is compatible with the steam version

I don't actually understand how this part of the video makes sense. What's the point of seeing the future and making a table when all that's gonna happen is that when you save scum the future you're seeing will just be overwritten from save scumming. It's like extra work when all you really need to do is just load the last save until it's the perfect one?
@@wufflemuffin9197 There's two instances of save scumming going on. First, when the level is started for the first time, the list of what zombies spawn at what time is generated. Restarting the level over and over gets an optimal set of zombies, with a minimal number of hard-to-deal-with special zombies. Second, what wave each zombie spawns in is determined when that zombie would spawn, so you can reload the in-progress level to force each of those pre-determined zombies to spawn in the lane that already has the counter for that zombie planted.
VERY APPROPRIATE that this video is coming out on the 14th anniversary of the original pvz game.

I like how this challenge was intimidating on the first few minutes but become more and more of a breeze the more you unlock plants such as Cattail and Gloom Shroom xD
Gloom shroom can take care of all the zombie types on its own sept for gargs, catapults, and ballon zombies
The thing I adore about such challanges is that some zombies or levels suddenly become ultra-difficult to deal with

I love that you have captions for deaf people or people who don’t watch with audio. I am neither, but you rarely see built in captions so this is nice. Great vid by the way!

These kinda challenges always are usually a pretty W video to watch. Even though he had some really tough times and had to go through some shiny only nuzlocke type time spending. You still managed to exceed your own expectations in the end. Well done!

This video was really entertaining and well done, good job on this challenge, there has been like 69420 pvz challenges, but this one is super unique and the video it's really well executed, good job :)
The problem in level 1-1: You are unable to continue the level if you haven't placed second peashooter in 2nd column, and in 1-1 there is ONLY 1 row. So planting in 2nd column in 1-1 is forced.
1-1 is DAY level 1

You could definitely argue that using the flower pots outside the column at all breaks the rules of the challenge. The rest is insane though, great video.

This is insane. How can you even think of that solution in the first place. So ridiculously smart.
Great video, great concept, great execution, but I do have one piece of (hopefully constructive) criticism: I appreciate the work you did to put captions in the video, but I feel it would be more convenient to someone like me, who perfectly understands everything you say, to put the captions in UA-cam's built-in captions so people are able to turn them off if they like. I don't have a problem if you keep it the way it is, but other people might be different.

7:51 there is an option in pvz tools called "wave counting" and it shows you what will spawn for every wave

Also I have a challenge idea: plants versus zombies but you can only have plants in one row at a time. If you dig all your plants, you can then change rows to another one. I think it would be very interesting

@@RCCH I have now determined that this challenge is definitely not possible. You get brickwalled at 1-7 it’s just too long, and it’s not viable to have to shovel up your sunflowers every time you want to defend another row. I’m gonna change the challenge to “you can only have attacking plants in one row at a time” that way it’s still hard but not impossible
Edit: way better idea: plants vs zombies but you can only have each type of plant in up to one row at a time
One row for sun producers, one for offensive plants, and one for walls

You know, I've actually kind of been beginning to like how easy PvZ is because it means you can do crazy challenges like this one. PvZ is like Pokemon in that way, both games have deep gameplay mechanics and systems but the games are so easy that you rarely have to think about them in too much depth, which is what challenges like these are for.

In 4-7 at 22:24 you placed a lilly pad in column 1 but you were placing all your plants in column 2 making you use 2 columns and thus failing the challange (obviously the level is possible, just pointing out a dumb mistake you made)
but a lily pad isnt a plant
