I don't like this real-life bully. His Oscar-winning performance in Mystic River, which was at times good, is marred by severely over-the-top melodramatic bullshit. I like more naturalistic acting. He's one of my least favorite big actors working today. Also, I'm sure I will be thought off base, but I don't like the movies he's in that much. I'm not disputing his talent, but I just dislike his hamminess and that sense of self-importance that comes through in most of his performances. In short, I think he's hammy, pretentious, and arrogant. And bores me when he's not alarming me with overacting at moments. In Mystic River there is one scene that was embarrassing bad when he overacted. Of course, he was probably good most of the time. The director (Clint) should have stepped in. I don't want to watch this good movie again because of him. I guess that makes me whatever? but at least I don't go around smacking people for no reason. He is over the type in Carlita's Way but for some reason, I don't mind him in that.
Sean Penn is great to every film he made. He is one of the greatest actors ever along with Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson, Robin Williams, Marlond Brando and the list goes on... I'm very happy he team up with another great actor Mel Gibson.
@@sergiogaribayluna1423 yu don't know shit stfu n keep moving he's not gonna get killed he was invited by him to come down to see El Chapo and he wanted to go see him too so he did
The game was a great movie! A weird movie that he was in, U Turn, with Jennifer Lopez, Billy Bob Thornton, Powers Booth & Nick Nolte. It's a disturbing movie and weird; karma is a muthafuhker
SILAS THE NIHILIST ........maaaaaan he was PURE EVIL in that role! That was truly a sad film but both him and Michael J Fox were FANTASTIC in their roles!!
At Close Range 1986 is is his best film for me, the cast is amazing and every scene is magical. He's just a brilliant actor who has the ability to make every second watchable.
Bad Boys pop in the pillow-case scene. As a kid growing up in the 80's Sean Penn was one of those Dylan/James Dean/Rebel Without A Cause figures... Namely because of his role in Bad Boys, Taps, Falcon And The Snowman, Colors, etc. But definitely that scene, and Spicoli in Fast Times are what cemented him as a permanent figure in Hollywood...
Sean Penn is the bomb, his range is amazing he can be low or go rachet,he is amazing,he made me cry in I am SAM,he owned that role I cried and cried he made you feel that character,Dead Man Walking,Bad Boys ,At Close Range,Mystic River was also top rated movies .Sean Penn is a Great Thespian..⭐⭐⭐⭐....
Dead Man walking was not only his best performance, it is one of the very best by anyone EVER, I also liked him in the Interpreter, Penn was brilliant in Mystic, as well, but that scene in Dead Man where he admits what he did makes you weep for a murderer and rapist, the guy was brilliant there. And that scene is in my all time most powerful scenes.
I know they gave him some awards, but I always see him as under appreciated. He gives grand performance one after another, consistently, and I doubt many - especially , and ironically, from around his generation - list him among the greats. Younger generation seems to appreciate him more, though.
This is what you call an actor that deserves full credit for his performances that EARNED him those Oscars, he's capable of adapting himself into any type of character, whether they're a murderer/rapist or a disabled man. There's only a few out there that can grab your attention and make you feel whatever they're going through, the fact of the matter is Sean Penn makes you believe his character is real. Don't ever tell me about Leonardo DiCaprio deserving an Oscar because he doesn't. Not for any of his roles. To me, he just can't make me believe that his character is real, at the end i always see an overrated actor, he's good but not that good as people make out to be. His performance in Wolf of Wall Street was decent but not Oscar worthy, especially when the other nominees are way better. Matthew Mcconaughey in Dallas Buyers Club was outstanding. I just saw Mystic River last night, and wondering to myself why Sean Penn won an Oscar for this role, then i saw him crying and told myself oh ok i see now. It felt so real and i could understand this because that's exactly how i'd react if my daughter was murdered, among the thousands of Dad's out there, they'd also be feeling that way.
It's sad how they criticize Sean Penn for everything he does. There's a lot of Sean Penn haters out there. Look at yourselves in the mirror? Who are you or who are we? Regular people that have our own point of views and freedom of speech. We are not public figures. Who are we to judge anyone. When i go to work , i go and work and get paid for my JOB. What i do in my private personal life, what i think or say out of my job it's my business. Same thing with an actor. He gets paid to act ,that's his JOB. What he does outside his acting or movies it's his business and we should respect everyone including Sean Penn for whatever he believes in or whatever he thinks or does. He's one of the few public figures that speaks his mind on his beliefs. If every actor or public figure would be as clear as Sean Penn their would be more people public figure haters. Let the man be himself. He seems to be doing just that without giving a hoot what people think about him. I love his acting,he's a great actor that's why he has 2 Oscars.I admire him as an actor, as a person and he's a GENIUS.My opinion he should have won more Oscars. I love people who stand up for what they believe in and speak their minds.I just love this man :)
I agree Leo is way WAY overrated. The Titanic lovers felt he should've won for Titanic, but he wasn't even nominated, nor should he have been. It's a nothing role, a cliche character, and he doesn't WOW us. The one movie he really shined in was Gilbert Grape. Penn can immerse himself in any part and create convincing characters. And give us the feels. Look how vastly different his characters in Mystic River, I Am Sam, and Milk are... and unbelievably they're all Sean. He can play any part, and WELL. I used to name Hoffman as the best; more recently I've realized it's SEAN PENN.
Why is it always so that whenever people praise one, then the other will be definitely badly downgraded. You know there's an option that both are good, and you don't lose anything.
Umair Mojaddidi omg i totally agree with you . at school when i watched “dead man walking” in my law crime and society class i thought he played the role so good he makes it seem so real
Im not emotional at all when i watch war movies or any type of fucked up shit happening in any movie but i am sam really does get me emotional like foreal. Sean penn is one of the greatest versatile actors ever

Last year I went to Iraq. Before Team America showed up, it was a happy place. They had flowery meadows and rainbow skies, and rivers made of chocolate, where the children danced and laughed and played with gumdrop smiles.
All great performances. Tough to decide. Can’t wait to see Sean’s latest movie, Flag Day. He is the lead actor AND director! Should be out by the end of 2020.
IIIIIIII I think its one of the top 5 performances ever. Up there with Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will be Blood), Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs), Robert De Niro (Raging Bull) and Leoanrdo DiCaprio (The Aviator)
This must be the place now that is the transformation how he did that rock star is masterpiece i loved him in state of grace but that is the best performance of Gary Oldman
Sean Penn is a natural. His performance in Mystic River was beyond greatness. One if the top ten actors of all time by far.

It was, you feel the pain of what Jimmy & his family are going through. Great movie, all star cast.
Pineapple Pioneer nah Sean penn was most definitely better

Something about the way Sean bears his soul in dramatic performances that has you stunned and in awe. One of the best actors of all time
And one of the most hated.
I’ve never seen a movie with Sean Penn but he is just gorgeous
You are really love and amazing, thanks for the sincere complement?
Sean Penn is Great in every single film he has performed in... that's just my humble opinion!!
That 1 minute scene of Penn crying out in Mystic River is one of the best in cinema, right up there with Meryl Streep's in Sophie's Choice.
I think the scene with tim robbins is better.
Sean penn is a silent Wolf. My second most favourite after Jack Nicolson. Love you Boss Man
Sean Penn is great to every film he made. He is one of the greatest actors ever along with Al Pacino, Robert Deniro, Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson, Robin Williams, Marlond Brando and the list goes on... I'm very happy he team up with another great actor Mel Gibson.
Daniel Day Lewis, Denzel Washington,Christian Bale
he's definitely S-tier. but Pacino, Deniro & Brando are something else - noone can reach em
I Am Sam was a great movie he should have won an Oscar he was nominated for.
Just a superb actor.
Number six hot

He's my favorite actor!!! He's the best!!!
Love Sean Penn!
He deserved the Oscar he received for Mystic River. He should have won for Dead Man Walking but also deserved the Oscar for Milk. Amazing actor.
I Am Sam and Mystic River was by far his best performance
I think that he was also excellent in The Thin Red Line. It deserves a spot here.
Just seeing the small clip of "I am Sam" made me cry.

his performance was great but the movie ending ruined the whole movie

His Oscar for I Am Sam was totally robbed. He truly deserved that award for his performance in that movie.
but he went full....
@@TheBaioken went empty handed
U-turn 1997 should be definitely on the list

Sean penn is the best omg 😍😍
Sean Penn is truly an artist. He is a cinematic champion, with a true mastery for the silver screen.
The most underrated actor of all time. If not the best actor ever. Penn, gives his all to his character’s. A very unique trait.
