I enjoyed this video and seeing how you work (bare feet, crouched on the workbench to do the glue up and clamping. Love it!!) I'm not quite ready to attempt a coffee table yet but love how yours turned out and watching the process and the logic in your approach. I did make several of those planters you did in one of your first videos and love how they turned out. Thank you!
Oh that first clue up was a workout 😂 Also you can absolutely do a coffee table, I have another one I did about 12 months ago with wobbly legs and bowing boards and though it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it gave me the confidence to keep trying. I look forward to seeing what you will build next :)
I have a festool domino. And it is great and it works awesome. But that Jess Em doweling jig is highly ranked and it makes very strong joints. Good choice!

If you take into consideration having to go back and fill the pocket holes with plugs after (and hoping that the plugs are relatively invisible), its really not faster.

Use a countersink after drilling your dowel holes and it will help with the glue up! Makes lining up easier and gives a small reservoir for glue
That sounds like a great tip, I’ll have to try that out next time I do a dowel glue up, thanks for sharing:)

Very beautiful table! How expensive is Ash vs White Maple?
Depends on where you live:) For myself in Ontario buying rough sawn ash is around $6-8 (pending thickness), versus$8-8.5 for hard maple.

6:16 pocket holes are faster
