Theres something there with a “The Office” type show with superheroes
You could definitely make a good comedy show with that set up, Main JLU still in costume on the watch tower between missions talking about the super hero stuff and having to dart around the details of their secret identity while still discussing some other matters in life.
It's called *"Powerless"* , but sadly it only lasted one season back in 2017... (that was Adam West's last live action role, as the Wayne Security Chairman, Dean West).
It was the show that made me fall in love with Fire (Beatriz Da Costa), played by Natalie Morales.

This version was like watching Save by the Bell meets Walker Texas Ranger
This version of the team was accurate (as far characters on the team) to the books. During the Keith Giffen, J.M Dematteis and Kevin Maguire run. Unlike this show, it was a huge hit. Especially, when compared to it predecessor (Justice League Detroit).

They should've made this a JLI movie. Go heavy on the comedy, make Guy Gardener a lovable jerk, Barry an intelligent jokester, etc, and go nuts.
That's pretty much what this was. It did lean heavy into comedy. The issue is since a few members had different versions of themselves at the time they kind of smooshed them all together. the Flash was Barry in name only and was a bit more Wally who in the comics wasn't the scientist Barry was and had long operated openly as the Flash that I can't remember him having a day job. GL was more Kyle's personality as he was the only GL in comics at the time.
Yo isn't that what they did in this movie ? It's beyond campy and goofy , in our modern time , I wouldn't mind a JLI action/comedy based on Martain Manhunter Oreo cookie addiction with Booster Gold and Blue Beetle TK being a menace

I kinda remember seeing this as a kid. A very forgettable pilot. I thought it was going to be better because I was hoping this was linked to the flash live action show.

The Weatherman and the Weather Wizard are two completely different characters. Weather Wizard (Mark Mardon) is a major Flash villain and member of the Rogues. I remember at the time it was claimed the live action Weather Man was a retooled version of an extremely minor JLA nuisance but damned if I can find any reference to them now, but they are distinctly different from the Mardon Weather Wizard. It is worth noting too that Ferrer also voiced Aquaman in Superman TAS and Vandal Savage in Young Justice. Ferrer was a HUGE comic fan and his band (consisting of himself, Lost in Space actor Bill Mumy and comic book creators Steve Leialoha and Max Allan Collins) would always play at SDCC events. In fact, the band was called Seduction of the Innocent after Frederic Wertham's infamous hit piece on the comics industry.
I'm always surprised no one mentions one of the most glaring facets of the Justice League pilot. When the base is under attack, not only is J'onn NOT afraid of fire, he claims "where I come from, 3000 degrees is a beach day".. This is a line so absurd it has stuck in my head ever since as it implies the surface of Mars is HOT.
My go to is The Superfriends.
Thank god, I missed this one. I saw the ones in the 70's at least they were watchable. Thank you for warning me about this one. This one will not be on my guilty pleasure of bad superhero movies.

From what I remember it was some cartoon, possibly Brave and the Bold, that gave Fire and Ice some attention in an episode that maked me like them.

I already knew Fire & Ice from Justice League and various comic books, but that one made me go "wow wish she popped up in *Arrow* or something"
(a wish which I kinda got when "Powerless" got a small reference in the very last episode of the show... I miss *Arrow* )
1:25 -I saw this! I was interested, because superheroes and at the time there wasn't much of live action super heroes expect of a few Batmans and that Supermans, which looked a little old and beside that Batman the animated series, I was barely remember and Spider-man, I don't remember if at the time there was anything more I could watch .
I watched it and then quickly forgot .
I actually like the Aquaman pilot. I thought it had potential. The mystery was fun and I've always liked the beach horror aesthetic. I think horror in idyllic vacation settings works very well. As far as I can tell Amber McDonald quit acting, so I don't know what she does now, but she was gorgeous and I wish she kept acting. I thought she was good. I had a bit of a crush on her when I first saw the pilot. I think things did work out for the best because we got Green Arrow in Smallville and then Arrow and the Arrowverse but still, it would be fun to visit an alternate timeline where the show was picked up

Flash, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter were all in the first issue of Justice League. the Atom joined not long after and was more of a C string character, you sell him too short. In the 90s, Guy, Fire and Ice were big parts of the justice league, along with blue beetle and booster gold which would have made more sense with this group. They were much more humorous with J'onn often stuck as playing the straightman character. .Its like they picked up some of these copies, read a few and that was enough.

I do think Legends of the Super Heroes is absolutely a contender for the worst Justice League adaptation. Sure, "Justice League" never is mentioned or hinted at as a name throughout, but it really is a Justice League story. And yeah, it has Adam West, Burt Ward, and Frank Gorshin, but the writers clearly aren't at the level of the 1960s Batman series (don't know if anybody involved behind the scenes was involved with that show, but if they were, there was clearly some decline in ability between show and specials). Granted, the specials do actually have the characters act more like their comic versions than in Justice League (at least the heroes--while I'm not familiar with how all the villains are portrayed in the comics, but I highly doubt most of them act anything like that in canon), but there's something to be said about bad comedy and how hard that is to watch.
One thing to speculate is which of the specials is better. There were two, "The Roast" and "The Chase". The former is formatted more like a TV special at the time, stylized as a comedy roast of the heroes, hosted by Ed McMahon, while the latter is entirely story based as the heroes try to foil a plot by all the villains. I mean, the focus of each was a different aspect the writers struggled at, that being comedy and plot, respectively (though all of it was bad comedy).
It's kind of sad, because this was the first live action appearances of most of the characters, and this could have been fun if done competently. For those that haven't seen it, the cast has, as the heroes, Batman, Robin, Captain Marvel, Black Canary, Huntress, Hawkman, Green Lantern, and Flash (well, the Atom is there, too, but only for a skit in the roast--well, there's also the original heroes of Scarlet Cyclone AKA "Retired Man", and the one-skit appearance of Ghetto Man), and as the villains, Riddler, Sinestro, Doctor Sivana, Giganta, Mordru, Solomon Grundy, and Weather Wizard (with a one-skit appearance of Aunt Minerva, in the roast).
Also, it would have been interesting if things would have been written better, in part because Giganta was played by Aleshia Brevard, making her possibly the first trans person cast as a superhero character (even if she wasn't publicly out at the time).

In defense of use Fire and Ice, if they couldn't use Wonder Woman, after that every other DC female at the time was a B lister or less. Supergirl and Batgirl were even b-listers at that time, I'd argue and they probably couldn't use them, either. Black Canary is a B lister too, at best. Zatanna, she was a C-lister, and Hawkgirl was then, too. Vixen at that time, a C lister at best. Gypsy...oh, she's D-lister and maybe not politically correct even for 1998.
The previous Flash show looks so much better than this. It was true to the character Barry Allen and it worked. It's biggest issue was getting the episodes out in a timely manner.
Actually saw this way way back in the day…… yes, I’m oldish… #eldermillennial Had yet to become a legit full comics fan then, more a cartoon fan and movie fan at that point but it was a bit of a s#|t show when I was 14/15 years old
