It's crazy to me that this show had less than 10 episodes, because I genuinely have memories of watching it in my mind and thought it had a lot more
Same. I could have sworn that this show had way more episodes. Yet again, 11 year old me wasn’t keep track back then. CN Real, as a whole, felt like a blur to me; it just came and went.
The power of reruns is something else.
Seriously, I remember watching this show at my friend’s house and being obsessed with it! I definitely thought there were more episodes lol…
@MagillanicaLouM I think it was on for like one summer but they played the shit out of it. I remember seeing the same faces over and over but I'm still shocked that it was only 11 episodes
SIX EPISODES??? WHAT??? I have more vivid memories of playing along to this show than like half of the actually animated shows that I thoroughly enjoyed! How were there only six episodes…? My mind has been blown.

The roller coaster thing has actually been done before 😭 I remember seeing it in this Korean variety show running man, and I think it also happened on the Korean variety show infinity challenge from way back in the day

Honestly, looking back at CN Real almost 14 years ago, it’s kind of nostalgic ngl. I remember watching this show when it aired and actually enjoying it a lot, thinking it was one of the better shows on CN Real and definitely could have worked on a network like ABC and could’ve fit alongside shows like Wipeout.
Honestly, I feel like CN Real gets too much hate. As someone who was in the exact target age group of Cartoon Network back then, I didn’t mind the live action shows that much, especially considering the fact that most of those shows mainly aired on Wednesdays and didn’t air that much outside of that.
Also, I don’t believe Brainsurge ended due to bad reviews, but due to low ratings, because if that’s the case then why is Teen Titans Go still going on despite the bad reviews and why were shows like Annoying Orange and Johnny Test on for years despite bad reviews?
Kids aren't the ones giving those bad reviews, so definitely not. I watched johnny test all the time and I watched the annoying orange show. Kids don't normally care much about the quality of shows.

Personally, I wasn’t the biggest fans of Brain Rush. The only live action shows I enjoyed from this era was “Dude, what would happen”, “Unnatural History”, and “Tower Prep”. I did watch some episodes of Brain Rush, but it wasn’t really a show I had to see.

I remember BrainRush because the same year it started and that the whole CNReal was going down (I loved it at the time), was a summer my mom bought me a season pass to a local theme park. And my friends and I recognized some of the rides types as the same that we were riding, just on the opposite coast.

I’m one of the people who didn’t care that live action was on the network. They targeted the right audience, I felt it was just older people outside the demographic complained. Bobbe Says is one of the best anime of all time
You’re right about that. There have been plenty of other networks that have experimented outside of their original identities such as MTV, History Channel, TLC and more, and were successful. The only difference is that Cartoon Network wasn’t successful at it compared to those other networks, I would say mainly due to the fact that most of the live action shows were rushed and shoved down audiences throats too fast and too quick.
Had Cartoon Network gone slowly with some of the shows then I think live action could’ve worked.

Tower Prep was a show from CN real I feel like would’ve done much better on a different network. It had great characters and a good plot. Great video though❗️

As kids, every time my sister and I went on a rollercoaster, we'd play our own variation of BrainRush.
Honestly, this was a show I LOVED watching as a kid and wished that it had lasted longer. Especially with thrill ride enthusiasts nowadays, I would've loved to see a reboot but with a mixed age range of contestants not just teens and kids. Zap-Pow, I would yell at the TV a LOT when it was the game of choice, since I was a massive DC nerd at the time and if anything DC was incorrect, I was SCREAMING.
You should do a video on Nick's trivia gameshow brainsurge. Watching this made me remember all the times I watched both shows back to back hoping to be put on one of the shows.

This brought back so many memories. I can't believe this was only 6 episodes. I remember loving this show. The video also brought back my memories of other kid game shows like brainsurge (which you mentioned) and splatalot. I loved all of these but I have a feeling those last two would not hold up lol.

Brain rush and Brain Surge are special gameshow da from my childhood. But this one was just not given enough credit. Such an amazing concept. And great video!

Does anyone remember Tower Prep? That show had a really interesting story and premise. It's shame got canceled I always thought it would've worked better on any other kids channel than Cartoon Network.

Damn, just seeing this video's thumbnail unlocked this show from the deepest recesses of my mind! I remember watching bits of this show as an elementary school kid when CN Real was still a thing, but I never knew that only six episodes were made. I genuinely have to thank you for making me remember this show, 'cause even if I didn't see a lot of it, it was a fun time watching that show!

I am so mad I never saw this. I love Lamorne so much and I’m from Florida so when I tell you I could easily eat that food and ride all those ride and think properly… you would just have to believe me.

I always thought it got cancelled because they didn't want to make more epiosdes, since they only made 6, which is kinda weird. Dude What Would Happen's first season was 18 episodes, in comparison.
Ohhh I remember this! When i saw the thumbnail i had no idea what it was but seeing the Q & A format brought back the memories. Not strong ones mind you but memories nonetheless.

Might be the only one, but CN Real is, to date, the only era of Cartoon Network I actually watched. This and The Othersiders were my go-to shows.

I didnt know this show went on for so little, I remember trying to replicate it on a roller coaster at some local fair LOL i was weirdly obsessed with this one
My guess is they probably had some sort of sign at the front of the line explaining that by entering the line you may be asked to partcipate in this show. And along with that some brief summary of the show.
I remember liking this show because I felt the prize money was believable and the questions were reasonable
the biggest issue is how gimmicy it was.

Wipeout Australia had more episodes than Brain Rush and one of their episodes was a Top 20 special.

Honestly, I don’t think the CN Real block was that bad; I have a lot of fond memories of watching Dude What Would Happen, Destroy Build Destroy, Hole in The Wall, and Level Up.

The only thing I can really remember CN Real was Tower Prep, I absolutely loved that show and was just really hurt that it got canceled.
I’m 100% sure the extreme negative criticism wasn’t towards BrainRush. It was because it was on CN Real.
They’d have been salty if they asked me to name as many members of the Fantastic Four as I could and I name off like 22 superheroes that’s been in the team before.
I believe this show was inspired by a travel channel show! I can’t remember what it was called, but it basically just had some dude traveling around the U.S. riding rollercoasters and sometimes he would do games where he would try to ride all of the rides in an amusement park in a certain amount of time… Brain rush is like that show + cash cab lolol

Dude what would happen and brainrush were the only CNreal shows I watched and remembered enough to like but I remember the other shows there they aired yeah the cnreal shows could've worked on nick or Disney since unlike CN they already have a nice blend of live action and cartoons they literally could've put cnreal on either of those shows and I feel like it would've done better

I legit thought it had like 2 seasons worth of episodes 😢.. it was genuinely a pretty chill show to watch in-between the cartoons or before the GOOD cartoons came on like Courage, Ed's, or Dexter 😅
