I’ve been loving these Bill! I hope at some point you can discuss the tale of Turin Turambar and what it has to say of suffering and grace.

I think your making this something its not - I've read all lord of the rings books ( tried reading Silmarillion - boring hard to stay focused) I just found them entertaining and a good read, I certainly didn't find no spiritual enlightenment in it? But i guess you can take from it what you want to believe -( Like any book Including the Bible, that's why everyone's interpretation is different.) In fact Harry Potter you could derive inspiration from it. It's in the same degree of storytelling, Good versus evil? - Yes he was catholic wrote books. a lot of catholic people do, he just may be a better writer than them? His inspiration came more from the horrors of fighting in WW1, and industrialization England.
