Chrisfix be like “Hey guys we’re gonna replace two headlights today’s but I also decided to pick up a new bumper and V8 engine to do a nice quick and easy engine swap.” Other UA-cam mechanics “ alright YoUTubE where gonna be changing some oil” 30 mins later “alright guys so that was the first screw.”
When I was 14 I got my first truck at a local scrapyard it was 1994 ford ranger XLT extended cab 4.0L standard. It was in horrible shape it needed a clutch and the interior needed to be redone and they ripped the radiator out for scrap and the A/C didn’t work so I spent my summer fixing that truck up and the first thing I did was replaced the water pump and radiator. Then I did the clutch then the interior I put a new headliner in and took the carpet out and washed it and the seat covers as well then I got the A\C working I put propane as the Freon and it puts out 15or20 at its coldest. It was a fun learning experience! I still drive it to this day! (I’m 17 now) Amazing truck. I love how stock it is and I plan on leaving it that way!

Awesome videos. I've been taking pride in draining my cooling system for my Chevrolet pickup truck. Previous owner put some stop leak in the radiator, the radiator is a real mess internally with some sludge and it looks something like mud and dirt. I've got myself now prepared to replace the radiator, flush the heater core, clean the water pump and do some coolant system cleaning to be safe.
I literally binge watch your videos 😭 I can't get enough. I'm so ready to buy a project car. I've watched the same video 5 times and I've also spray painted my rims using your video. Most of the work I've done were on air cooled engines so this being my first time working on a water cooled engine you could say I was a little intimidated. same here. I grew up in the city so I didnt have my dad or anyone tool with me in a car. Now that im older I'm enjoying doing all this work on my own and also having my sons watch and help. Its very enjoyable and satisfying even when the work is tough for lets say a stuck o2 sensor.

Well some engines use propylene glycol which is sweet and relatively safe. It's even used in some foods to add sweetness. Ethylene glycol on the other hand is extremely poisonous.
Gotta give it to ya Chris, you didn't just clean your engine bay for the video about it, it's just always super clean. I do appreciate it, it definitely makes it easy to tell exactly what your doing at all times.
Chris, awesome video! Quick tip I use for the no spill funnel.Before putting the plunger in, slightly squeeze the upper radiator hose, then put the plunger in, release the hose and remove the funnel. Doing that raises the coolant in the funnel, when the plunger is in and you release the hose, it pulls the coolant back in the system to keep it from spilling out of the radiator filler neck. Hope that's helpful for you and your viewers! Keep up the awesome videos!!
Hey Chris, I just wanted to say thanks so much for making these videos. I've already saved hundreds changing oil, cleaning the MAF, cleaning batteries, restoring headlights, flushing radiators brake lines and transmissions in my car. Will replace the wife's hybrid battery too, when that happens. I follow the mantra "do it once, do it right" and I'm glad you show the complete methods (torquing, threadlocking, etc). Haven't owned a car in 6 years (until now) so working on this thing has been a blast because of your vids. Thanks for your time and effort buddy, it impacts plenty of us!
Lol I just finished saying how far he's come. The first time I came across his videos was around 2015 learning how to change the lights in the gauge cluster. He was a bit quiet and shy sounding but still very knowledgeable and informative. Now he's super confident and super knowledgeable and informative it's exciting lol.
Cris, when you say simple it actually is simple. Many people are scared to work on cars cause they think they might break something and it's really complicated, but you explain everything in such detail that "it really is that simple."
can you make a how to install subwoofers and amplifier, i dont know if you like big bass but i cant figure out how to wire anything so if you can thanks!
sub is easy. lol if doing single sub then not much to it. if 2 or more subs. it can be more of a challenge. and certainly make sure all your subs are the same! mix and match is NOT good and can result in damage to the amp and possible fire hazard. the wiring of the amp is fairly easy. since i see chris fix is planning to do a video ill let him talk you through it tho. 🙂
Hey, Chris. I went and checked my coolant protection with an antifreeze tester, the good old fashioned squeeze bulb type with the arrow indicator, and I am protected down to -45 degrees Fahrenheit, and boil over protection to 268 degrees Fahrenheit. I couldn’t be happier😊thnx for making such badass videos
I really love your channel and I just really want to say that I’m not even old enough to drive but thanks to you I knew more about change it oil than my own father did and I did it yesterday without no frustration as my dad sat on the side and watched, I knew more than my father who is 54 and changed oil more times than he could remember, and I truly want the thank you for that.

I replaced my water pump about 6 months ago but had decided to wait on my radiator replacement until it really needed it. Wish it had lasted longer than 6 months though haha. Turned out to be an easier replacement than expected, but its always good to psyche myself up for a repair by watching your videos!
Chris you have the best camera angles no shaky camera and no guesswork because you’re close ups are so good you make things so easy even a caveman can do it. 👍🏻
One tip to throw out is that the thermostat housing on most cars have a habit of cracking and leaking due to thermal fatigue. If you are going through all this trouble, it's probably worth at the very least looking to see how much a brand new one will cost. I'd also suggest replacing the bolts that hold it on, and the hose if you're able to find a new one (which tends to dry out and crack if you're car is old enough..

I'm glad this video came out before I changed my radiator for my 96 Dodge! Only difference is that I had to take off the overflow and washer fluid reservoir from the fan shroud and put them off to the side. New radiator, thermostat, hoses, and thermostat, and the truck still runs like a champ!

Chris, Thanks to you I gained the confidence to replace a radiator and hoses, brakes, do fluid flushes, and so much more. On top of that I gained the confidence to replace motor mounts, spark plugs, and do all sort of other maintenance. I've saved so much money and have gotten so many new tools in the process. That's good stuff. I need to do most of that, minus the radiator but good prevemtive M. With a slant toward electric fan conversion, with shroud. And a trans cooler and oil cooler possibly. I thing all vehicles should be upgraded with these parts. They only improve performance drivetrain life and maintenance intervals, potentially.... Your vid on easy AC filling has been keeping me cool. When the word was that a repair would cost thousands. No mechanics from hear on out. The last one broke my windshield, but I can't prove it....Keep it up!

I think it's important to mention not to over tighten worm gear hose clamps. It's easy to over do it and cut into the hose with the slits in the clamp and cause yourself problems later. OEM spring clamps are pretty idiot proof in that regard. A pair of remote cable hose clamp pliers for like $20 will make them easier to use than worm gear ones too.

Cris, when you say simple it actually is simple. Many people are scared to work on cars cause they think they might break something and it's really complicated, but you explain everything in such detail that "it really is that simple."

sub is easy. lol if doing single sub then not much to it. if 2 or more subs. it can be more of a challenge. and certainly make sure all your subs are the same! mix and match is NOT good and can result in damage to the amp and possible fire hazard. the wiring of the amp is fairly easy. since i see chris fix is planning to do a video ill let him talk you through it tho. 🙂

Just remember that if you do radio installs..- each make has a different style. Like 1990's ford rangers/explorers need two "fork" prongs.

I went and checked my coolant protection with an antifreeze tester, the good old fashioned squeeze bulb type with the arrow indicator, and I am protected down to -45 degrees Fahrenheit, and boil over protection to 268 degrees Fahrenheit. I couldn’t be happier😊thnx for making such badass videos

I really love your channel and I just really want to say that I’m not even old enough to drive but thanks to you I knew more about change it oil than my own father did and I did it yesterday without no frustration as my dad sat on the side and watched, I knew more than my father who is 54 and changed oil more times than he could remember, and I truly want the thank you for that.

I replaced my water pump about 6 months ago but had decided to wait on my radiator replacement until it really needed it. Wish it had lasted longer than 6 months though haha. Turned out to be an easier replacement than expected, but its always good to psyche myself up for a repair by watching your videos!
Chris you have the best camera angles no shaky camera and no guesswork because you’re close ups are so good you make things so easy even a caveman can do it. 👍🏻

One tip to throw out is that the thermostat housing on most cars have a habit of cracking and leaking due to thermal fatigue. If you are going through all this trouble, it's probably worth at the very least looking to see how much a brand new one will cost. I'd also suggest replacing the bolts that hold it on, and the hose if you're able to find a new one (which tends to dry out and crack if you're car is old enough..

I'm glad this video came out before I changed my radiator for my 96 Dodge! Only difference is that I had to take off the overflow and washer fluid reservoir from the fan shroud and put them off to the side. New radiator, thermostat, hoses, and thermostat, and the truck still runs like a champ!
I am in awe. This video is so professionally well-done it is a little eerie. Every last detail was addressed. It is perfection. There really isn't anything that could have been improved! YOU EVEN HAD ROVER IN THE BACKGROUND!!! WTF!!!

Thanks to you I gained the confidence to replace a radiator and hoses, brakes, do fluid flushes, and so much more.
On top of that I gained the confidence to replace motor mounts, spark plugs, and do all sort of other maintenance. I've saved so much money and have gotten so many new tools in the process. Thank you!

Years ago people would use ground pepper to stop cooling system leaks. :-) Leaving Pizza Hut was the best thing you did.
That's good stuff. I need to do most of that, minus the radiator but good prevemtive M. With a slant toward electric fan conversion, with shroud. And a trans cooler and oil cooler possibly. I thing all vehicles should be upgraded with these parts. They only improve performance drivetrain life and maintenance intervals, potentially.... Your vid on easy AC filling has been keeping me cool. When the word was that a repair would cost thousands. No mechanics from hear on out. The last one broke my windshield, but I can't prove it....Keep it up!

I think it's important to mention not to over tighten worm gear hose clamps. It's easy to over do it and cut into the hose with the slits in the clamp and cause yourself problems later.
OEM spring clamps are pretty idiot proof in that regard. A pair of remote cable hose clamp pliers for like $20 will make them easier to use than worm gear ones too.
