(Just my opinion from seeing you, so please take it as such.)
Joyce, you are not empty; you are open. You hold a space in yourself for other souls. You invite them in and offer them understanding at a level few get in life. You are such a blessing to others in that way.
At times, I imagine this is hard...to not fill yourself up with, well, yourself. To leave that space open to others, is so amazing. I'm sure it feels very worth it to the other people in your life who benefit from your acceptance and wisdom. But, I hope you can see, hopefully, that "emptiness" as a fullness of love, and as a gift.

Infj winter is the cold reality but their presence is like a warm house which help you become calm and warm and appreaciate the beauty of the whitness it is clear and their Ni how to live and survive together
Enfj are the spring because they are the ones when sign that the summer is come they fight for life they are strength and willpower to move forward and create families protect them being in the present and being very optimistic about the future which most of the time is right
Enfp the summer new possibilities to travel the world new friends new possibilities beaches the fire camp and in this moments you can share deep philosopical ideas about the greatness of life being alive and enjoying each moment and creating memories
Infp the autumn the beauty of the leafes which fall in the ground the amazing colors of orange and feeling at home they try alot to make things more amazing and enjoy more intimate moments when rain falls and all friends enjoy the rain and are together and laughing being weet the sun still brights from them but its time to be more strong and face some new possibilities of being yourself (its a bit hard to describe Infp lol) But thats much much more to this we are not exactly the same thing but we are connected with one comes another and we need to appreciate what we are and what we can give you shouldnt expect that cold have high temperature it can feel to you but if you treat thing in the wrong way they will doubt themself and they will feel that are not good enough.

The disregard for idealism that people my age have had all my life around me, and how bad they used to treat me because of that, has really made me very closed off about it. It’s horrible too because those are sometimes my only type of thoughts and it feels so lonely so I end up feeling like it’s not correct to have them.
I find refuge mostly in music and books but it gets hard to open up with other people even if I believe they will treat me well

I'm glad you didn't cut that part off Joyce. I feel like I kind of know what you're talking about and if I am, I want you to know that it's okay. Just because your Ti can be tough doesn't mean that it's bad. Don't think about your impact on others all the time as much as that is important. And as much as how you don't want to be seen that way. That part of you is really cool and it's valuable even if it hurts and feels like it isn't welcome. Don't disregard it but own it. Because if it wasn't for this your fluffiness wouldn't exist. I love everything Carol was saying, especially about having to make sure to set healthy boundaries. Thankfully I learned that in my mid 20s, but it is okay to say "No, I'm not able to do that." It took too long to learn that. We ENFPs have limitations as much as we like to think that we don't. These
healthy boundaries mean we can keep giving of ourselves.

I’m probably gonna come back to this video again and again just to watch all of your interactions: the understanding, the jokes, taking the time to make sure that the important and serious things have their time to flesh out… Sharing your difficulties and insecurities is one of the hardest things to do and I’m loving all of you for it. I think I was like Denzel once and too trusting and hoping the best, probably as a young kid, but life sort of beat it out of me and I’m trying to find my way back again. I wonder sometimes, a lot of times really, how do you stand to watch the news or learn about all sorts of atrocities in the world when it’s easier to ignore it? Or do you just focus on the one thing you can do?
But truly… Carol is a wonder to watch with all her positivity and energy and all her stories; Denzel is that understanding yet trusting and motivational father figure that everyone needs (though may not deserve); Paul is just great at keeping the jokes rolling and helping me laugh at myself but says the most honest and compelling things seemingly out of nowhere… and… Joyce, you are a joy to watch. Sure, your vocal tone may be a little flat at times or your body may seem a little stiff at times but I can tell that it’s because you’re paying so much attention to the other people in the room, to listen and understand, rather than to find some way to respond because then, you’re also nodding or a little smile curls your lips or your eyes become super focused and there are also so many other little tells so yeah… what Denzel said.
Sorry, it’s so long. Looking forward to more of your videos.

As a fellow NF, I am just so GLAD to have watched this. It was simply so heartwarming and heart-filling. This is probably the first time that I have listened to a type video whereby I felt like I really understood and related to most if not all of you! This is the sort of social group I would love to be part of. Each person brought something different but very relatable to the table. Also thank you Joyce for sharing your vulnerability. my initial gut feeling was, 'I dont give a sh*t with what others think of me/It's their problem and not mine', but on closer inspection, I think this idea that if someone denies what you believe is part of your identity and not recognise and validate what is an important part of you, I can see that being painful especially if it's important when one relies on external feedback for this.
On another note, I would love to know what profession other NFS have fallen into. I am still trying to figure out where I need to be. It really does feel like needle in a haystack to find my calling.

  • @PowerRedBullTypology
    @PowerRedBullTypology 2 роки тому +5

I think the NP idea does not really die out, but rather it is finished. The idea of the NPs is just meant to be the idea and is not intended to become a fully fledged external sensory manifestation of it. After all, it's an intuitive function, it's not like Se that is aimed on things in the real world. When Np's think about an idea, they extract the interesting parts about that for insight/understanding. When they are done with that, the idea is just an empty shell and of no use anymore and is disposed.

I always have to temper my energy as an ENFP, and water myself down because people compare me to a puppy or a child, or just too much and I have to code switch all the time to sound more normal...if I spouted off all of my ideas and thoughts and fantasies with an ounce of seriousness, everyone would think I was really insensible. @@JonasAnandaKristiansson I definitely don't want to, but like Carol said, in certain arenas it sort of complicates the situation by being that way. When you're the ONLY one who is giving off that energy and others just don't even have the capacity to embrace, let alone give off that same energy, it can be detrimental. Then people don't take you seriously, then they marginalize you and mistreat you.

19:39 oooh... yup. People saying that doesn't usually make me angry (unless they're saying it to invalidate someone's pain), it mostly makes me confused. If you're recognizing that something is bad, why don't you try to change it or, at least, not contribute to the problem? Even if as an individual you can't make much of an impact, improving these issues starts with a mindset that works towards change. Viewing a problem as something that can be fixed affects the way others perceive it and, over time, makes an impact. The power of a collective belief starts with individual ones.
24:13 He said it waaaaaaay better
26:19 what she said here and that Martin Luther king quote reminds me a lot of this hard rock album by the band Skillet. The album is called "Rise", and the ENFJ singer/bassist had the main role in writing the songs. He said the album was written from the perspective of a teenage girl learning how messed up the world is, and in her attempts to change it she wonders why other people aren't trying to do the same, and she struggles to accept that she can't fix it all. To me the album has a bit of an angry tone, like being in a state of disbelief that others don't have the same motivations and have accepted "what is". As an ENFP who grew up listening to this album, it's interesting to see how I can relate to it now. I find it difficult to find the balance between trying to fix absolutely everything and being dissatisfied with anything short of that and not doing anything at all.
30:10 yeah, I relate A LOT to that haha. When I attempt to temporarily "shut it out" and avoid ethical issues, I feel a sense of guilt like I'm invalidating the struggles of people being oppressed. Then again, as much attention as I want to give those issues, it's also extremely stressful and emotionally taxing. I can't stand the fact that people have to suffer like this, but I'm not capable of fixing it all. It feels like I "owe" them my focus and advocacy, but at the same time it takes a toll on me.

I’m overly trusting to a point of naïveté, like I will befriend any random person on the street with open arms, like the kind of people most would reject and cast aside, but I’m always called cynical bc I can easily pinpoint bad outcomes with Ni. It makes me so frustrated ppl don’t see me for who I truly am. Totally related to Joyce there. Also, Joyce, you share that quality too because you’re willing to put yourself out there on the internet and talk to complete strangers about your feelings. Most might consider that naive, but it’s actually emotionally brave. I don’t think I could do it. I think the difference between Joyce and Denzel is leading with Fe vs Ni. Ni is always futurecasting and aware of bad outcomes…more so than an enfj…and to people who don’t lead with Ni, it can appear to be cynicism. I’ve started saying to people: I’m not a cynic or what you perceive me to be; I’ve simply observed the patterns and am warning you this is the probable outcome! But don’t label yourself in that way because it’s the way other people see it. Or don’t accept the labels other people want to put on you. We can’t look at ourselves through the eyes of people who never truly saw us.

This video came up for me, But I did enjoy hearing Carol and her experience in creating such a healthy environment for herself and setting boundaries and not ignoring where they need to be placed in her life. Understanding there is a line for her to draw to keep herself evolving and growing. I have a therapist myself whom takes in emotions so much, and she herself has her own therapist because she knows she needs a tool to let those emotions out and talk about them. And I myself become a therapist for ppl sometimes, when I allow it. As I also have to set boundaries. But I have my therapist that I talk to, to let out those emotions I'm carrying if it becomes overwhelming. She has taught me to set boundaries and understand when I take on someone's emotions and understand I listened and offered them the help I can. And they will be ok. Kind of like.. you can take a dog to the water bowl but can't make them drink it. ( I mean well tech you could.. by injecting it or forcing them.. lol but would that be healthy?) People at the end are responsible for themselves and their emotions and growth. Which means they have to make the first step to help themselves at first. But overall you do need to take care of yourself by setting boundaries, so you have the energy for the situations that come your way where you'll be the perfect fit because you've been taking care of yourself and can find a genuine solution to a problem. Loved Carol's wisdom on boundaries. That was a breath of fresh air. 😊

He is not overtly mean, but he is adversarial in all his "joking around" and I feel his bad intentions. I cannot even stand being around him, his vibe is just anathema to me and he sucks energy away from everyone else in the group, too, yet I feel like nobody else seems to be seeing that this guy is bad news. And they are wondering why I have stopped coming. I want to voice my concerns, but this is so hard to describe in terms that feel clear and I don't know if anyone else is going to see it as anything but a personal beef.

History seems not to be on the side of the NF-s. So many revolutionaries and reformers where NF-s and their ideologies where so diverse and even in antithesis with each other. However this is the first time in history that a mass extinction event is not being caused by a natural causes but by our civilization. Nice contribution to the "progress" of humanity! 😕 (INFJ)

Also, Joyce, you don’t seem like an intj to me at all. I can see and feel your warmth…not that intj’s are cold lol. It’s just clear to me you’re an nf type. I know Fe tends to over-value the perceptions of others, so it hurts when those perceptions aren’t accurate.

It's kinda harsh that the Enfp is the common nf type while the other ones are just rare
