I'm still very attached to the Stryfe, due to the sheer amount of aftermarket parts available for it, however I am getting the ominous feeling that Hasbro is phasing out the Stryfe for things like Elite 2.0. How far can a company fall.
To its credit, the Stryfe was a top-notch piece for ages. Moreover, it still has a couple things going for it over the DZ Spectrum (using fewer batteries, more aftermarket parts, and better ergonomics), and the Stryfe's more aggressive cut likely lends itself better to cosplay - the fact that the Stryfe remains relevant is a testament to its quality, whether or not it's best in show. I also think that if you have a Stryfe already, there's much less reason to get a Spectrum. Even so, the Spectrum probably comes out on top overall. That said, it'd be a real shame if Hasbro decided to phase out the Stryfe, though there's still its Fortnite reskin, which certainly isn't a bad blaster either.
Hello drac, for Christmas I purchased your modding kit for the nexus pro, and from what I have seen of it it is really high quality and I am excited to put it together! And you are one of the most honest reviewers for dart guns
BRRRRRRRRRRRRR is the best sound to possibly hear, and the dreaded sound of flywheels screaming strikes fear into the hearts of the springer peasants. But after that BRRR your back and arms will wish you brought something semi from the ammo pickup
I didn't have a stryfe for a long time until recently. I got an orange one on ebay for 10 bucks that didn't have a battery door, I 3D printed a white one to match the orange/white.
Mod variety and aesthetically, it is the stryfe but performance and value wise it is the spectrum. The spectrum isn't available in some places but can be imported so it's not that big of an issue. Even with the not as good performance I choose the Stryfe.
Hey Drac, big fan from Korea. Recently Some of the dart zone blasters has been registered in the Korean safety test website which means a Korean toy company is going to officially bring dart zone blasters in Korea. Seems like Prime Time Toys is expanding their business!
Lord Drac Amazing comparison video. Thanks for going through the differences and similarities between the two. Great video as always. Thanks again for giving us super duper dart content daily in December.
Drach excellent contact as always. I do agree the spectrum is a better blaster because of the battery capacity but I am old school so I’m gonna stick with the strfe
I think the reason you kept saying $20 instead of $25 is, if I remember correctly, you valued the attachments that come with the Spectrum at that other $5. So you're subconsciously factoring out the attachments from the comparison and therefore from the price. Just a theory.
He was saying the stryfe platform can't be beat, and the nexus is a spring powered blaster, so it can be argued that it's at a disadvantage and still a better preforming primary than the stryfe.
The stock Stryfe was a disappointment, but that Nyx cage and wheel set plus the motors you recommended on your mod video is unreal good. Much appreciated for all you do bro.
Bear in mind that the stryfe is also the swordfish by default, and if you can find one, they are around 30 bones. It's compatible with almost all stryfe mods, and all worker components. In that sense, if you want pure performance, get the spectrum. If you want options, go with the stryfe / swordfish.
I love the stryfe. I have one myself and i use it alot. I use alot of modulus attachments on it like the red dot, 10 round banana magazine, the suppressor thing. And stuff like that. I dont think the spectrum is as good as the stryfe but i did buy one and it jammed on me 4 times in a row. We dont need to get mad at hasbro for the newer blasters. We still have all the older ones we can buy and mess around with. And its a great modding blaster if you want to start out modding. Im gonna mod mine and put a lipo in it maybe soon. Im not sure when. But the stryfe always will have a special place in our hearts. Thats why i think the stryfe beats the spectrum ☺☺☺☺☺.
The only version of the original Stryfe Nerf seems to produce is the BattleCamo Stryfe, which costs $40. EDIT: I'm not sure if you can even get an OG Stryfe from Target. And they're super expensive on Amazon.
I got my hands on a Red Spectrum at Walmart yesterday I FRIKIN LOVE IT!!!! ❤ There were actually 2 hiding behind some Adventure Force Buzz Bee 🐝 CRAP!!! I was in awwwww got it home put batteries in it and....nothing. Finally after I took the mag out and put it back in it started working...I don't know but it works GREAT NOW!!!
In England we can buy a Stryfe for £19.99 on Amazon, no problem. Maybe in the USA you are buying from the UK with expensive shipping! 😂 I'd probably go with the stryfe as we can't get the spectrum across the pond, and also there are more 3D printed mods I can make for it. Thanks for the VEDID Drac!
Absolutely I will pick up a spectrum. Anything more than $20 for a stryfe is pushing it for me, but $40?? Nerf is outta their minds on that. Plus I do think the spectrum looks cooler. Imagine being able to get it to use half length darts 😍😍😍😍 It’d make a great futuristic SMG style build. Perhaps in the future the hobbyists can figure out how to make it full auto as well.
What would also be neat is a discount Perses equivalent from those other companies. Ideally compatible with Rival balls, with swappable hoppers, and compatibility with plastic bottles.
I’d take a Stryfe any day. Especially the classic orange. Looks better, plastic feels better, shoots smoother, can finger bang the trigger. You can attach anything you want to. (NERF Modulus ECS-10 is solid too) The only ‘mod’ I did was to take a small peice of scotch tape to lift the dart lock under the jam door (I got one that has it pre-2017 I think is when they stopped making them with the lock). You can buy them for good prices on facebook martketplace. I have some other Adventure Force blasters Villainator (prime is tight ratchety and rough), Double Trouble (too wierd an uncomfortable ergo for it's own good), Tactical Strike Aeon Pro (extremely hard to prime but cool) and Double Fire Shotgun (fun but have to be delicate with it). The plastic doesn't feel as good, aren’t smooth operators to shoot they’re rough and as not fun for me as NERF. I have 76 blasters. I'd say if it shoots harder fps for less money doens’t mean it’s ‘better’. It seems that’s the bottom line criteria people use for ‘best’ or ‘Stryfe killer’. This is a good video.
I know this comment is old but saying something is bad because it’s harder to prime is stupid, it absolutely destroys nerf in fps/power so of course it’s gonna need more power to prime.
@@Alx-ln9oi It's not stupid. My post was a well-thought out compared to the inane comments I often read (like it really matters). I didn't say it was 'bad'. It is harder to prime regardless of why. Walmart has blue camo stryfes on sale for $25, I went ahead and bought 2 because I can't find DZ Spectrums at all. I never had a stryfe before so that's a big reason I didn't just wait for the spectrum.
Yet another Dart Zone is better than Nerf video because, well, they *are* better. Much better, suddenly. Would love to see "NIC" become "DZIC" because the times they have changed. Great to see Drac's not above pitching for sponsors. It takes money to do what you're best at instead of disappearing into a cubicle farm somewhere.
Why do you say that the Stryfe's aftermarket kits are more expensive than the Spectrum's? I'm not exactly disagreeing with you, but I'd be interested to see where you're drawing that conclusion from. I'd expect the Stryfe's kits to be a lot less expensive because they're so much more plentiful. Am I wrong about this assumption? Also, 10/10 job on the Mach 5 paint scheme! I'm not going to get into all the wrongs of nerf recently because it would be at least a few thousand pages, but I still prefer the stryfe. More aftermarket kits, more classic feel, N-Strike rails and an N-Strike barrel lug. I could never run a flywheeler without my beloved chronobarrel, and no built in muzzle will stop me. Though realistically I prefer the evader over both :)
i mean if hasbro made elite 2.0 5 dollars more expensive per blaster, but actually made them up to par. that would of been much better as they would make more money and we wouldn't get garbage
So when you modified the Spectrum you left a link to get the kit. Is there anyway to just get the front end (barrel) and the rail without the motor and flywheels?

But the stock point isn't great. Adapting it to N-Strike with 3D printing and then to a buffer tube is the way to go for now and probably forever since Dart Zone is putting N-Strike stock points on their blasters. ON top of THAT the front grip it came with is great, very comfortble, but it's not secure and mine broke off twice before I just abandoned it entirely. Before it was perminetly damaged. The main grip, the trigger grip is comfortble, extended rev trigger is, in my controversal option better. But the grip is on weaker plastic and one day it's going to snap. The mag well is better. Easily fits most magazines since it's not snug like a Stryfe. The extended mag release is honestly the best out there. Even after market kits suck compared to it. It doesn't take longer Nerf Mags, like the 18s and drums due to a bump. But it takes 18 round drums. I just use worker mags at this point. Okay Hasbro, why not make a Nerf Elite Pro line? Make them like the original elite line (but higher quality), give them new darts that don’t fly wildly into the air, and make them shoot harder than 140fps. Imagine these specs on a Stryfe right off of the shelf. However, I’m sure they will keep putting out crap.
