Born and raised in Orlando. Much of its natural beauty is gone and losing more of it every year. The saying also goes "it takes an hour to get from Orlando to Orlando". Traffic, tolls and crime are why I moved. The average pay rate for most jobs is also not up against the cost of living.
Orlando native left in 76,returned in 87 No longer the City Beautiful! Traffic, crime, nothìng historical left. Reside on the west coast of upper central Fl. only return to visit family.
The closed communities are beautiful but CLOSED. Orlando needs streets that connect, we need corner stores, commercial space under residential. I am SO tired of having to drive to my nearest Publix for anything.
We hate it when we visit there as well. I'm from Tampa so I'm there 7 or 8 times a year and waiting in those long lines or going to Walgreens for bread just ain't it.
@@Christianclay Nah; there is no place in Florida that is truly urban, not even Miami. Florida simply needs real public transportation. They're trying to sell Brightline with a "golden ticket", yet it's almost useless. Florida needs to ban single-family homes and build dense walkable cities that are well-connected with heavy rail systems.
Hopefully brightline will connect to the downtown Orlando and hopefully they can get plans for more public rail transit going in form of light rail preferably.
I feel like brightline could make moves to connect to the Millenia area or International Dr as well since they are tourist hotspots. Might relieve some traffic
Orlando:My favorite city in FL!!! Always growing, Always progressing. I just wish Orlando would invest heavily in Public Transit throughout the city. Yeah, the Bright Line is cool for interstate travel…but could you imagine a light rail system that could connect UCF with Winter Park with Thornton Park, Mall of Millenia area, with Windermere & Mills 50 to OBT to Downtown to Disney/Universal to I-Drive & to the airport? Without a car?!?! This would put Orlando on a different level. But unfortunately…the city will continue to be a slave to I-4 & toll roads smh…
So far according to MetroPlan Orlando a lot of the roads such as Orange, Colonial, Semoran, Kirkman, and a few others I can't remember off the top of my head are looking to get BRT projects. There is also a plan to put a streetcar in International Drive as well. Aside from the Sunshine Corridor there's the Apopka and Polk extension. If Orlando and Orange County can focus on getting those done soon and not get hampered by the NIMBYs then Orlando will be a much better city.
Moved here three years ago and have been contemplating leaving but I’m excited about the new things coming to Orlando! It is truly a great city with so much to do!
Born & raised here (I live downtown). And while we have every theme park known to man. It’s still a very BORING city especially if you’re in ur 20’s. Nightlife sucks, no day parties, everything closes early. I would say Orlando is perfect for ppl who want to settle down with a family, retire, or just visit. I’m ready to leave now there’s nothing here for me. But if I ever decide to settle down & have a family, Orlando is definitely #1 on my list
DT died when Wall St refused to reopen w every other bar mid "pandemic." The demo changed, and Wall St alley parties were passed by. Everyone i know who chilled there on a Friday/Saturday has migrated to Ivanhoe or Milk District bars. DT during 2018/19 was an incredible time. Now you just have Celine, Elixir, and Aero which are decent, Vanguard is pretty bland but at least its there. We need some new clubs and an infusion of life downtown for sure.
My home town, native. DT has not been the same since Rosie O Grady’s and the exchange. Worse thing they did was remove all that. The things that have changed are crime is up, traffic is a nightmare and people are rude. Being close to the theme parks is awesome and annual passes are a no brainer. 2008 killed I Drive but such a gold mine. I hope it cleans up. Orlando is missing a transportation system. I moved in 2021 to Palm Beach County and I can honestly say the only thing I miss are theme parks. Other than that I don’t miss it.
I moved here 8 years ago from up north. I saw what was going to become of this beautiful city. So glad to see it happen. Downtown UCF area looked nothing like it does now. Slowly restoring the Lake Dot area.
Do you have any insight into when the CR557 widening in Polk County will be finished? I can see it's been started but can't find anything online that says 2 years to complete, 5 years to complete, etc
I’m with Lifeline. We need that especially Florida. I can see it grossing from coast to coast . North to south. Less people on roads more people safe. It doesn’t mean that people are going to buy less car, but we can inhabit more People.
A lot of good here, I'm surprised you didn't cover Society Orlando. I think people also underestimate how impactful ucf is on Orlandos economy. Ucf should get its own lynx station like the one downtown
Sounds great , new developments for jobs and entertainment. The living and housing cost sounds pretty terrible. I was pretty set on moving to Orlando in 2020 but the rise in home insurance seems like a huge issue. Isn’t car insurance crazy high too now?
I’m glad about the brightline and trains should definitely be more common in the U.S but there really does need to be a traffic plan and should always be a traffic plan for all development in the larger cities
I live in polk county, they're all moving here too. Our town is outside of lakeland and was relatively small. Now we have so many people the infrastructure can't handle it. Lines everywhere, Traffic is terrible and rent is through the roof.
@christianclay great video. Would love to see a video about the development of the Lake Nona Medical City. We took my daughter to Nemours for heart surgery and it was just astonishing to see the progress there in a relatively short period of time. These places were cow pastures like a decade ago and know they are top notch medical centers.
As a new resident (sorry locals who hate me) its refreshing to see a positive outlook to growth. Now, International drive North of Sand Lake Rd needs some serious help. Its like crossing over into an entire new town compared to the south. Where is stadium club going? Plus, I think Universal City Walk has a massive problem coming, it already has crowding problems from Islands and Studios, i can't imagine how much more packed its going to be when Epic opens.
having been able to live in Florida for just one year, I can still confidently say that out of the south-eastern states, Florida would benefit probably the most from scheduled, state-wide, reliable passenger "subway" System. The tourism aspect alone; the amount of families that live within just a state away that don't have proper transportation could EASILY have an overnight trip to Orlando. Or if someone that doesn't have their own vehicle in the middle of the state just wants to get to the beach quickly versus having to try and find a ride (not to mention traffic)
Here is Florida we prefer private transportation (car). The city is to spread out for public transportation. If my job is across town, you can't expect me to wait on a bus in 100 degree weather, to get me back to my HOA lol. It's easier just to drive.
how about a mass rapid transit network with 15 minute cities at the stations? actually urban planning and not just a bunch of random buildings wherever the developers find the place to do it
This is amazing but I really wish Orlando would focus more on affordable housing. While there are a lot of developments going up the amount of apartments going up because people can't afford to get a house is absolutely crazy. But I am most excited for epic universe
More supply to catch up to demand. More homes = more competition = price adjustment 📉…. Also more apartments = less buyers = price adjustment 📉… more of everything would help. But then ppl will complain about traffic. My head hurts 😖
Can the innovative Neocity figure out how to control and cool down the weather? Because it’s hot over here and something needs to be invented for that!
Cool and all but wish this city was more pedestrian friendly. I’ve lived in walkable cities all my life and Orlando for about 15 years. As others have said, Orlando definitely needs to invest in Public transport and get more cars off the road
I live straight across in Pinellas county by the water a few minutes from Tampa. I see the comments and agree with some and not with others. I go to Orlando a lot in last 25 yrs i moved here from NY. I believe this stuff will happen. Orlando has changed a lot since i moved here and we were going to move to Orlando at first but i hated it-now it’s alot better and a lot has been built in 25yrs. Even in Tampa the last 6 years the city has changed a lot. Tampa was dead quiet at night and now there is a busy night life and ppl everywhere. They put a lot of living space there and tried to make everything walkable. That’s all in 6 years and they have a ton planned still I used to think a speed train was stupid but that was before Uber. I wish Scott wouldn’t have rejected the federal money for it. We need a speed rail from Tampa to Orlando and up and down the coast -we need a rail to go across alligator alley and up that coast. Nowadays you could just hop on it go where you want fast and get an u er or rental car. I would do hat 2x a month if that was built. As we all know the traffic has gotten insane over last 4years and DeSantis does have tons of highway projects all set -there is one huge one that just opens by me and a huge one just started by my house. I wish we could have this guy another q0 years because what ppl don’t know is he is bringing in huge business but yet just being picky so we don’t end up with blue haired crazy ppl. The blue haired ppl that i know here are not crazy. But the guy is brilliant on the laws he’s making to that stops the crazies from wanting to come here and he’s attracking serious business even some from Japan and other countries. You can feel the tech world slowly building her but he’s not letting the fruit cakes in. I have a ton of family in tech and they say it’s growing here and they are all red not blue so ppl have to understand not all tech ppl are blue crazies and some are blue and level headed like it used to be. The bullet trains are key tho. Those need to get started for this state to work properly and then you can live somewhere quiet or cheaper and hop on a bullet train and work somewhere else. Or take of for another city or town for the weekend and not deal with traffic. It’s exciting to see Tampa changing and being a night time livable city and to see Orlando updating the look and kid and adult entertainment-they do have very unique stuff there that i like to do and it looks like they are taking that to a new level. We just have to hope the next governor doesn’t destroy it as it’s being created by letting in too much dirty evil money-it will ruin us and we will be the NY of the South and I’m a born and raised NYer who’s proud but it got destroyed from when i was a kid and crime was bad then but crime isn’t the worst problem there-there’s to many to list. They have a way of taking your NY pride and making you defend the crazy stuff they do. My own family is now brainwashed and most are Red but yet let blue brainwash them. They can’t see it. They had such a hard time getting guns legally that now they don’t want anyone having guns-it’s crazy how they let the brainwashing take away their rights and money. Ppl just can’t take stress and surrender their soul and then defend their state. It’s not about the state-it’s about the politicians, anyway Florida is growing very fast and ppl who think it’s fake it’s not -DeSantis has all this setup for years after he’s gone and has the laws to try and protect us. But the traffic needs fixing. The train needs built fast and that will free up alot of roads.
I hope Orlando doesn’t kill the accessibility and small town feel of the slightly bigger city. That’s why we love to go to Orlando. It’s not ostentatious and untouchable.

Born and raised in Orlando. Much of its natural beauty is gone and losing more of it every year. The saying also goes "it takes an hour to get from Orlando to Orlando". Traffic, tolls and crime are why I moved. The average pay rate for most jobs is also not up against the cost of living.
What part of Orlando are you from?
Absolutely in Love with Orlando. I grew up here❤️
We REALLY have to address the homeless situation first! My fellow Orlandoen’s know what I mean✌🏽
Florida really isn't a homeless friendly state to be fair
Another excellent Orlando overview video. Keep them coming. :)
Will do Dye 🫡
I’ve been living in orlando for over 35 years and I can’t wait to move out of here! So many better cities out there.
Christian, these videos are incredible man!
I appreciate that!

Is anyone building a walkable community where I can walk from the house to shop? Or is everything focused on driving everywhere?
There are a few areas that are walkable. It definitely comes at a price.
Orlando native left in 76,returned in 87 No longer the City Beautiful!
Traffic,crime,nothìng historical left.
Reside on the west coast of upper central Fl. only return to visit family.
What city are you in now?
Don’t tell him keep it a secret
Great video on Orlando! Thank you for sharing.
Always 👊🏽
The closed communities are beautiful but CLOSED. Orlando needs streets that connect, we need corner stores, commercial space under residential. I am SO tired of having to drive to my nearest Publix for anything.
Yea, you have to have a car in Florida. There are some places that have everything within walking distance but you have to pay for the convenience.
Yup drive drive drive and let's deal with some more traffic!!!!💯
We hate it when we visit there as well. I'm from Tampa so I'm there 7 or 8 times a year and waiting in those long lines or going to Walgreens for bread just ain't it.
@@Christianclay Nah; there is no place in Florida that is truly urban, not even Miami. Florida simply needs real public transportation. They're trying to sell Brightline with a "golden ticket", yet it's almost useless. Florida needs to ban single-family homes and build dense walkable cities that are well-connected with heavy rail systems.
@@thebabbler8867 never happen people like to have their own yard and private pool and drive their own car
I’ve been preaching the exact same thing to everyone I know for years and they all agree!
Spot on 🎯 I appreciate you sharing.
Happy to hear you are enjoying your new home!
Love the videos keep them coming!
Always a pleasure Ms Shotit
Born & raised here (I live downtown). And while we have every theme park known to man. It’s still a very BORING city especially if you’re in ur 20’s. Nightlife sucks, no day parties, everything closes early. I would say Orlando is perfect for ppl who want to settle down with a family, retire, or just visit. I’m ready to leave now there’s nothing here for me. But if I ever decide to settle down & have a family, Orlando is definitely #1 on my list
I literally left Orlando, I was so tired of it. Now I'm in NYC and I'm having the time of my life. Good luck on your future endeavors.
Tampa might have that spark that you are looking for.
if your in your 20's it can be great but it really depends on the person
@@Christianclay im from tampa for about my whole life (22) and honestly its the same bro and everyone is so toxic in tampa
All very valid points. Plenty of potential but we need to see it. Love me some Palm beach too
Palm Beach baby! Better then anywhere in florida also close to Miami and Orlando
I moved here 8 years ago from up north. I saw what was going to become of this beautiful city. So glad to see it happen. Downtown UCF area looked nothing like it does now. Slowly restoring the Lake Dot area.
Heyyy I love to hear that you are noticing the improvements as well!
Wow. I just realized that the Amway center is now the KIA center. That happened so under the radar.
They renamed back in 2023 if I'm not mistaken, remember seeing it on the news. Nobody really made a huge fuss about it tho
I have to get used to that. But it sounds sweet!
Good to see Orland keep developing and growing
💪🏽
As always, amazing video.
Much appreciated!
Really well put together video. Thank you!
Thanks for the support
Great video. Your drone shots are amazing
I appreciate the feedback Alejandro! Thanks for watching.
Wait a minute...All that new construction yet, what about that EyeSore on I-4 ?
Do you have any insight into when the CR557 widening in Polk County will be finished? I can see it's been started but can't find anything online that says 2 years to complete, 5 years to complete, etc
Looks like it’s moving along quickly. Not sure the finish timeframe
What company or companies will be making chips in Neo City?
I’m with Lifeline. We need that especially Florida. I can see it grossing from coast to coast . North to south. Less people on roads more people safe. It doesn’t mean that people are going to buy less car, but we can inhabit more People.
Lol , while dope but sounds like Orlando is gonna be a really expensive place to live and it’s already expensive
There are surrounding areas that are much more affordable. But that is relative to your situation.
@@ChristianclayTrue! Americans just need to realize that things are going to get more expensive and that’s just what it is
@@SamMcKinley next time they won't vote for idiots like Joe Biden
A lot of good here, I'm surprised you didn't cover Society Orlando. I think people also underestimate how impactful ucf is on Orlandos economy. Ucf should get its own lynx station like the one downtown
Exciting to see the expansion of Osceola county. Moved here in 94 and remember when Osceola parkway ended at OBT.
💪🏽💪🏽
Sounds great , new developments for jobs and entertainment. The living and housing cost sounds pretty terrible. I was pretty set on moving to Orlando in 2020 but the rise in home insurance seems like a huge issue. Isn’t car insurance crazy high too now?
I’m glad about the brightline and trains should definitely be more common in the U.S but there really does need to be a traffic plan and should always be a traffic plan for all development in the larger cities
Agreed. Are you in the US ?
@@Christianclay yes
I live in polk county, they're all moving here too. Our town is outside of lakeland and was relatively small. Now we have so many people the infrastructure can't handle it. Lines everywhere, Traffic is terrible and rent is through the roof.
Good thing you have your spot situated before the rush!
@christianclay great video. Would love to see a video about the development of the Lake Nona Medical City. We took my daughter to Nemours for heart surgery and it was just astonishing to see the progress there in a relatively short period of time. These places were cow pastures like a decade ago and know they are top notch medical centers.
Lake Nona is a story of its own. Glad to hear the progress that your daughter has made. Keep an eye out for that Nona vid
11/10 presenting and cinematography during presentation
Thanks for the love 💪🏽
There is a rumor that United Airlines could open a hub in Florida too. If Orlando International Airport expands, it is possible.
We might break this down on the channel soon 🔮
@Christianclay Please do. Would be nice to have more competition and access to the Caribbean from Florida.
Solid cinematography work brother, would be sick to hear your take on the eye sore on i4!!!
Thanks for the love! I’m sure we will get to that!
Most importantly overcrowded, and toll roads are everywhere.
Great video ! My wife is originally from Apopka and still has a lot of family in the Orlando area.
You married in! Thanks for watching!
There’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
☀️
As a new resident (sorry locals who hate me) its refreshing to see a positive outlook to growth.
Now, International drive North of Sand Lake Rd needs some serious help. Its like crossing over into an entire new town compared to the south.
Where is stadium club going?
Plus, I think Universal City Walk has a massive problem coming, it already has crowding problems from Islands and Studios, i can't imagine how much more packed its going to be when Epic opens.
Gota love the growth. I believe on idrive
having been able to live in Florida for just one year, I can still confidently say that out of the south-eastern states, Florida would benefit probably the most from scheduled, state-wide, reliable passenger "subway" System.
I can see your point of view
Here is Florida we prefer private transportation (car). The city is to spread out for public transportation. If my job is across town, you can't expect me to wait on a bus in 100 degree weather, to get me back to my HOA lol. It's easier just to drive.
Good work and very true.
Can we just get some help on I-4 between exit 45 and 62. I despise that drive
Im with you !
Top quality content!!
Thanks brother 💪🏽
@Christianclay Orlando will be Miami
We need more walkability and affordable housing. Also, we should ban banks from purchasing single family homes.
Very very very true
How did you skip Edge Tower downtown Orlando. It's under construction and going to be 32 stories.
AMAZING VIDEO....love it...keep going!!!!!! moving forward to move to orlando in a couple of years 🤙
One love 💪🏽
Are they gonna make more parking in downtown? Cause that ish is ridiculous at the moment.
Near the Kia Center, yes
how about a mass rapid transit network with 15 minute cities at the stations? actually urban planning and not just a bunch of random buildings wherever the developers find the place to do it
I find it odd that developers never really built on the tract right on Kirkman & Arnold Palmer Dr
Hi Christian, what about Ocala FL? I’ve heard a lot about it
I'm from west orlando but I never been to Disney
I might have been once. Not even sure.
I did not know the top of the Kia center look like that! 😮
I have actually been doing ecological work on Wellness Way for years. Never realized how big it was!

"Okay for this shot, I need you to walk into a random house that's under construction while holding caulk upside-down."
Wait… are you watching me?
Fantastic video quality & editing. Bravo! Excited to see more of your work.
Thanks for that!
Yes but look at that Skyline that's the most amazing I've ever seen other than Portland Maine in the fall
MY GUY YOU DID NOT HAVE TO DO THE ORLANDO MAGIC LIKE THAT IN THE INTRO
😂
What blows my mind is the toll roads. The reason the roads are needed is because of tourism but locals are penalized for their success.
Traffic sucks don’t move here pleaseeee 10 years ago it was so chill now u can’t go anywhere without it taking 30 min
It takes one hour to get from Orlando to Orlando. Just saying.
Can the innovative Neocity figure out how to control and cool down the weather? Because it’s hot over here and something needs to be invented for that!
The last thing Orlando needs are tech head ceos, hell naw
I didn't realize they had built a new Orlando office for EA in the Creative Village by the ELC.
💡
NACCP is moving their HQ here. Another record company too.
Great video !! Very Informative !!
I appreciate that 💪🏽
Cool and all but wish this city was more pedestrian friendly.
That’s all in 6 years and they have a ton planned still
I used to think a speed train was stupid but that was before Uber.
I appreciate that comment!
Awesome video man!
Thanks CJ!
the magic r rly good this year and will be good in the future
They are having a year!
Orlando is already full✅️
I hope Orlando doesn’t kill the accessibility and small town feel of the slightly bigger city. That’s why we love to go to Orlando. It’s not ostentatious and untouchable.
Well done video
Thanks man!
Bitter Sweet 🎉
This guy is a great marketer, he didnt make me want to visit Orlando, he made me want to buy it and put it on my backyard.
“I’ll take one Orlando please”
Love this state.

This is the best informational video on Orlando end of story.
On Jah !
Grow grow grow
Do a space coast/Brevard county one
That would be a good one. Brevard has been surprisingly one of the top growing counties as of late.
