Dating scene is problematic due to Florida’s transient nature. It is also full of problematic people looking for fun rather than settling down. People are superficial and fake. And you have to be in top 90% for looks as a guy to get the good looking girls. It’s just terrible compared to Midwest or up further south.

To my own research In USA , individuals living in cars due to partial homelessness result from a complex interplay of factors. High housing costs relative to income, stagnant wages, and income inequality drive this issue. Job loss, weak social support, medical expenses, evictions, and lack of affordable housing also contribute, while systemic problems and inadequate policies further perpetuate the phenomenon.

Considering the present situation, diversifying by shifting investments from real estate to financial markets or gold is recommended, despite potential future home price drops. Given prevailing mortgage rates and economic uncertainty, this move is prudent, particularly due to stricter mortgage regulations. Seeking advice from a knowledgeable independent financial advisor is advisable for those seeking guidance.

We moved to Florida in 2019. Four years later and two different locations, moved back to Pittsburgh, PA. After living in Florida, I have grown to appreciate Pittsburgh more than ever. Florida is a very toxic place and we don't regret leaving at all. I can take Florida in small doses but that's about it. The heat didn't bother me near as much as the politics in Florida. We would have my parents come up north for better medical care. I have been visiting Florida multiple times a year for 20 years but after Hurricane Ian, Ron DeSantis, increasing rudeness, more and more snakes and lizards, red tides, rising sea levels…I will stay north. And won’t even vacation in Florida.

Consider reallocating from real estate to other reliable investments like stock, crypto or precious metals . I retired here 13 years ago from Boston. The first six years it was gorgeous, nice weather, actually cool winter days. LISTEN, the past 7 years the sun has become so strong, super oppressive humidity May to October, the weather is unbearable. I paid very low for my 4 bedroom 2 car garage home; price has quadrupled which is good for me. Thankfully I did not buy a Condo, that market is dying. My neighborhood never gets housefly’s or mosquitoes.
For now I’ll stay here it’s cheap to live with no house payment. Thinking about being a snow-bird just living in Florida winter times. People are mean, hard to make friends, oh, the drivers are reckless. People run red lights ALL THE TIME cops don’t do anything.

People must be reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaalllllly mean where you live, if you think they are worse than Boston!! Northeasterners (especially Jewish and Italian New Yorkers) think they can "escape". There IS no escape! So now Florida is crawling with grumpy old firemen and grumpy, asshole old New York cops, and they bring the poison with them. My mother had the same brilliant idea 43 years before you did, in 1968. She was originally from Bismarck, and she was sick and tired of Minnesota cold and the nosey attitudes, and so we moved to Sarasota. Boy oh boy oh boy was she in for a surprise! She bought a new house (4bd2ba) for $24,900. The mortgage was only $270 a month, the taxes are four times that now. It's a good thing she did not live to see what prices and taxes have become. She's been gone 32 years, but she smelled it coming even then.

Florida is great for short visits, but to hell with living there. The no income tax state is more expensive than states with income taxes, because everything you pay for in Florida is extremely higher than most states. Hopefully you have huge savings and lots of disposable income, and everything you own is paid for. Mother nature is a bitch throughout the state and it gets worse every year. Some people planning to buy a home in FL don’t realize that our homeowner insurance policies now all have a SEPARATE DEDUCTIBLE for “hurricane/wind damage” and it’s based on a percentage of the total value of your policy coverage!! For example, if the total value of your insurance coverage is $400,000, most insurers charge 2% of that as your “hurricane/wind” deductible, which would be $8,000 PER INCIDENT!! Those on the FL west coast that got hit by 2 separate hurricanes, would have to pay that $8,000 TWICE if filing claims for both hurricanes!!

Spot on. I was born and raised in FL. I moved my family to the midwest last year and have not looked back. Instead of oppressive heat 10 months out of the year, we get to enjoy seasons. People in the midwest are incredibly friendly. There is a strong sense of community here which we never had in FL. Essentially the politics that plagues FL now was the last straw for us. It's ugly. My dad who was born in Cuba and spent most of his life in FL finally had enough and moved a few months ago. And let's be real, unless you are rich and retired, most Floridians lifestyles aren't palm trees and Pina coladas. It's sweating in traffic to get anywhere and driving hours away just to find greenery to escape the concrete. I don't miss it one bit.

  • @peggypuskar8263
    @peggypuskar8263 15 днів тому +2

Thanks for the very accurate description in your video! I have lived in FL for eleven years and it is not and has never been cheap! This is the insurance capital of the states, whether auto, motorcycle, business or home, insurance is extremely high! They really overcharge newcomers who need auto or motorcycle insurance! If you have a pool or rental property, it is even higher home owner's insurance. Not to mention if you live in hurricane, coastal or flooding areas, you will dig in your pocketbook to pay these premiums. The insurance companies in FL are well known for NOT paying claims. They look for ways to disqualify you or they wait forever to consider your claim because there are so many each and every year.
The summer's in FL have been record breaking super hot. I found them to be unbearable. It is horrible if you have a dog, only able to walk in early morning or evening. The sidewalks will burn your pet's feet. Children don't play outside in FL, until early evening, this is a big adjustment if you're moving in from out of state.
Real estate taxes are super high. The further inland you live, if not near a resort area, taxes decrease, but what is the point of living in FL if you're not minutes away from the beach???
There is also sales tax on everything, tourism taxes and other taxes for who knows what? You will see them on your receipts.
Beware of scammers of all kinds! The state's lack of regulations on businesses attracts the people who are out to take your money, whether it is for a service, product or investment. You all have heard about the Ponzi schemes here.
Rural FL is like being in GA, MS or AL! Definitely not for me! But being far from the ocean has a price of different lifestyle.
He did mention the political environment in the video. It is true. The culture is divided and you do see it everywhere. The current government has changed a lot, and it will continue to change.
Even though the immigrants are the working backbone of this state, not sure if they will stay if they're treated badly. They work hard doing honest work that the Floridians do not want to do. Speaking Spanish is a plus, as well as Creole, and other island dialects. If you need workers, these will be your people.
There is a lot to consider about moving into FL, as well as leaving FL. The video commentator did a really good job at bringing so many points to the surface. Good luck in whatever you choose to do.

My husband and I moved to Florida about 16 years ago to help take care of my father-in-law. We ended up buying his house after he passed away. We live in a place called Lehigh acres. It was a retirement community low traffic and overall I thought it was a great place to be. We are not close enough to the beach to be in a evacuation zone so that was good and the damage that we have received from a few hurricanes has been minimal mostly just downed trees and loss of power. Now, all these years later, the traffic in my area is unreal to deal with there have been so many people move in to Lehigh acres that it is no longer considered a retirement community, which is all well and good however, there has been nothing done with the roads to accommodate so much traffic not to mention all the potholes in the roads that they just seem to patch up and a month later they are back again again. Our homeowners insurance has been canceled three times now at no fault of our own. The insurance company we currently have has raised our rates so much that our insurance is more than our house payment. We have not made claims against our insurance for any property damage due to hurricanes or anything else, but we still have to pay and pay and pay. Our car insurance is beyond ridiculous we have two vehicles with full coverage. My husband and I both have great driving records and no accidents but yeah, our insurance keeps going up every year to handle all the accidents by people who do not have Insurance. I will not get started on Ron DeSantis. He has been the worst governor in Florida history what he has done to our state is unbelievable. My husband and I are currently looking to get out of Florida. I am hoping within the next year or so . I used to love Florida but now I hate living here. It is a nightmare.

People have a right to their opinions. If they moved to Florida and it was a bad experience for them. Why should people get mad at them, for sharing their experiences with others, who were probably sold the same pipe dream, that living in Florida is like living in paradise?. It is like living in paradise, if you are very wealthy, and can endure all of the pitfalls. I have observed young people, who have never lived in a bad hood, listening to Rap Music that glorifies living the so-called hood life. But if they ever had to really live such a life, and were stuck in that lifestyle. I think they would understand that reality is much different than fantasy.

I’ve lived here for 41 years and I don’t find it that difficult. We have a higher number of hot and humid days than Boston or New York and it doesn’t get that much hotter because we have afternoon thunderstorms that move in and cool things off on a daily basis.
Unless you live right on the water, the bugs are not a problem and in fact, the mosquitoes are worse up north. From the second week of October through the second week of June, it is paradise. The winters in the north are inhumane for anyone over 50 years old.

Since they destroyed their above cities and states, they come down for tax savings, personal freedoms, and political freedom, which they all vote to change our Constitutional state to the totalitarian socialist machines they created and left for Florida. Since I've lived in Florida for 78 years and lived through nearly 40 hurricanes, I am happy to see them leave and hope they never return. @@peterm7596 This person cites political reasons they are not in the Netherlands; its a trolly post. There was a huge uprising of the people burning down Gates investments. He enriched the minister of nitrogen Christianne van der Wal her family is the grocery supplier of Picnic that Gates turned into a billion dollar operation with investment. Then suddenly she made a rule to take farms without compensation thousands of them. After backlash they backed off for how long is the question. Very risky spot to be in. Hilarious this person cites political reasons for moving there. Hence I feel it a troll post.

Great video because of the Truth! Florida Housing Market is definitely taking a hit and it’s only going to get worse due to the Hurricane and Tornadoes damage.

I live in a beautiful small town in Florida. There are beautiful springs, wonderful wildlife preserves and the ocean is only about 30 mins away. Im only an hour from Orlando if I want to partake in theme parks, concerts etc. the biggest downside, for me personally is the heat from June through November, I 4 traffic and home/car insurance. Nonetheless, for me the good outweighs the bad and I can't imagine living anywhere else honestly.

Yep! SW Florida homeowner here, my home insurance went from about $1200/year to $4400. The heat is hot bugs big. Gotta go my Cubano coffee is way too strong
