  • Almost 13 months to the day since I took delivery of my all-electric Energica Eva Ribelle, I clocked up 10,000 miles (16,000 km).
That's between 3 and 5 times the average annual mileage done by UK motorcycle owners.
And none or those miles were commuting or business miles, as I've worked from home for 15 years or so. They have all been pleasure trips, touring, group rides, and quite a few rides as an IAM National Observer, training people for their advanced motorcycle test.

Hows it been over that time, how often does chain need adjusting/ lubrication?
I see the service intervals are quite wide now so oil change not really an issue?
Noise is obviously louder than a zero sr...

@@FlyingFun. Chain maintenance is pretty much in line with petrol bike. Unlike my petrol bike, I didn't put an oiler on the bike and it hasn't faired as well as a result. Replaced the chain in April this year with a Regina "maintenanceless" chain, though I am not treating it as maintenanceless. I'm trying to see how I get on using ACF 50 on it instead of oil or lube, because the biggest enemy to a chain is rust. I hope that if I can keep it rust free, combined with the characteristics of the chain, it will hopefully fair well. Well, there's only one way to find out!

How tall are you? I am 6'2/230lbs and in between Experia and Ribelle. It would be a daily commuter. Any suggestions?

I'm 172 cm, so pretty much 5'8 and I'm ok with the Ribelle, but although the seat is slower than the Experia, the Experia's seat is slightly narrower. I could flat-foot the Experia but I can't quite do that on my Ribelle.
But you'd be fine on either.
If you're using it predominantly for commuting, I guess it comes down to your own taste. I think my Ribelle looks better than the Experia, but the Experia is more practical for touring and is more sit-up than the Ribelle. There's also a better luggage option on the Experia. I tend not to use my panniers on the Ribelle, as they're thermoformed and just get messy in normal use, though I still use them if I'm going away.
