In the video, I noted that, unlike DLSS FG, FSR3 FG doesn't have a flat Frame Time Graph. But you can actually mitigate this issue by enabling Vsync, and this should provide more consistent frame times when using FSR3 FG.
That's weird, I haven't had any problems with their implementation of FG so far, in fact it's probably the best I've ever tried. I'm using it to play at "fake" 4k with DLDSR, decided to try the FSR3 solution for this game (with VSync off), and the frame pacing is pretty much always a flatline and I haven't crashed so far. I'd probably tell people to try for themselves first before completely dismissing it, but you ran way more tests than I did. I'll reply back if I get any anomalies or crashes in case someone else checks this reply chain in the near future haha
Upgraded to a 4080 super recently so mostly I can crank every game to max, including this one, but I watch your videos regardless because they're so informative and well put together. Plus I'm a massive nerd for this stuff! Great video as always; the best optimisation and settings channel on this site.
You strike a very nice balance between Digital Foundry's showcasing of a game's graphical achievements and the detailed analysis of each setting and how much it impacts performance. It's not just numbers and I appreciate that :)
The return of the king! Your optimized settings for Witcher 3 was just perfect for my 3060 Ti rig, and now the same goes with Ghost Tsushima. Awesome work as always, man!
*Useful Information* So if anyone is struggling to select a perfect Anti aliasing for them or wanna use upscaling but don't like the blur and all, here's the solution: While testing on my own about graphics and performance I really wanted to shift to dlss cause smaat2x and taa are too shimery and after a little gagging and stuff I found the thing that can solve it --> Nvidia Image Sharpening and Radeon Image Sharpener. I was not performance hungry really wanted to use dlaa but didn't like the blur but this was a game changer Using sharpening of *0.20 - 0.30* with ignore film grane on zero on my rtx 3080 changed it all, the game looked more crisp and the blur was tackled. I tried and used dlss and boom the game looked like native but more smooth. So try using this range of Sharpening specified For only (DLAA, FSR3 or TAA) use Sharpening 0.20 - 025 For Upscaling use 0.25 - 0.30 The range may vary for different resolutions (I use 1080p) but keep in between 0.20 - 0.30 and use ignore film grain to 0 anything more is oversharpened
Played that masterpiece of a game on my PS5 but still watching this video to see how it fairs on PC. So envy of pc players who play this game for the first time.
Thank you for this. I was getting crazy trying to tweak my settings to make it look good for my taste. My PC can handle its max settings but some details were just hurting my eyes. This was perfect. Now I can finally play without having to change my graphic settings every now and then.
Perfect video like always. Bruh ty for your work seriously you are the only true answer of what we expected when we search for opti settings. Keep t way
Thankfully everything ran pretty smoothly by default but love the way you structure ur vids so im still gonna try and see if i can get it to run a bit better thank you
Man I love digital foundry but recently they've been talking about the gameplay more and more when i'm just there for the tech. You're fantastic you know what we clicked on this video for and you nailed it.
I just watched your gta v video a week or so ago and it was awesome. I searched you up as soon as GoT finished downloading lol. You don't disappoint man. Much love
Yes! Thank you for all the work you do in making these videos, I love seeing how every setting effects the game and how to get it to run the best that it can :)
With your help I have managed to run this game on mostly high settings (with textures being set on medium) on my Nvidia Geforce 3050m with 4GB VRAM. Also a year ago your video on RE4 helped me with that game too. Running the game on Exclusive Fullscreen instead of Fullscreen also helped with performance
@@kenenix3680 weird, never felt anything was remotely confusing from any HWU or GN optimization guides/benchmark videos. like not even a little bit, they're the gold standard for that kind of information
Thanks for Video... Texture : No difference noticable betweeen Medium, High and Very High. But VRAM usage in very high setting is 4 GB more than Medium setting.... I love this game ... Getting 100+ fps @ 1440p, DLSS Q, Max settings (except texture Medium) with my RTX 4060 ti and VRAM never goes above 7 GB even with FG ON and RAM usage is 12GB only . But with Very high Texture settings VRAM will lock in 7.9 GB and RAM goes up to 16 GB due to VRAM limitation
In the video, I noted that, unlike DLSS FG, FSR3 FG doesn't have a flat Frame Time Graph.

do you recommend using fsr3 fg with vsync then or don't use it at all since you said users reported crashes and stuff
@@gianfrancoguevara5636 I still don't recommend using it right now, it can cause crashes and some issues like black screen during some cutscenes...
@@benchmarking4386 thank you bench mark ing
I recommend Lossless Scaling FG. Its better than the in-game FG.

yep also on a 4080 super with 1440p and almost never drops below 100 fps at max settings
This video will become one of the most viewed for this channel!
Wait for gta 6
Been waiting patiently for this, thank you! The only channel that does this the best.
your methodology has gotten so good this past videos, its been a pleasure watch you progress.

Exactly the video i need atm :) You're easily the best when comes to optimization guides.
Dumb Question, can you use DLSS if i have AMD?
@x_wzxt no, u can use fsr and xess only, in a majority of the games that have xess 1.3 (the newer version) xess will be better than fsr
The man. Looked for your video yesterday and left dissapointed, glad this got in my recommended
You are the absolute GOAT! I was waiting for this!

By the way turn off fsr 3 and turn on frame generation for a better image quality it gives you almost native quality with some fluid amount of frames
Awesome. Im waiting a couple of patches to buy and play this game. I do it with every game theese days.
This is the only channel I trust in benchmarking games
That's insane, you don't trust Gamers Nexus or Hardware Unboxed?
