    2-way interaction between tyflow and phoenix FD is now possible thanks to the newly introduced tyflow PhysX Fluid Operator, which even comes with settings like buoyancy to control how much objects float or sink (similar to active bodies in Phoenix FD 4.0) This tutorial will teach you how to set up a liquid simulation that will push thousands of balls around. This technique can be used for a huge variety of FX, including water destruction, floating ships influenced by ocean waves, or even the elevator scene from the Shining, where the blood will actually push the furniture around!

    Hi Jesse, PhysX works well, I've just found that the Tyflow interaction makes reasonably fast Phoenix sims painfully slow. Still getting the hang of it but it certainly looks promising, thanks for the tutorial!

    • @RedefineFX
      @RedefineFX  3 роки тому

      Does it? I haven't noticed a drastic slow down unless the water is interacting with a huge amount of objects. it does get a bit slower but shouldn't be painfully slow

    Amazing tutorial as always, Jesse!! I have one question, what if you want to simulate the liquid in PhoenixFD in a different time scale? What happens to the TyFlow objects, are there an option to change the time scale of the little spheres too? EDIT: I found that there is a time scale in the TyFlow's modifier panel. I guess it will all work together if you set the same value, right?

    Hey Jesse, thanks for this.
    In your tut, you mentioned that "particle interface" should be on, also Tyflow should be solid object in Phoenix properties.
    In my previous tests, I kind'a skipped that (because haven't seen that in help) , and it seems that it's working. What are your thought's on this?
    Also, do you think that PhysX mass have an influence in PhysX fluid solver?
    Cheers. :)

    • @RedefineFX
      @RedefineFX  4 роки тому +1

      It's possible! I was convinced the interaction wasn't working for me unless I made it a solid object. I'll test this out later. And yes, the mass makes a difference for something like destruction but with these balls it didn't matter.

  • @SolidMotionVFX
    @SolidMotionVFX 4 роки тому

    Hey Jesse. instead of generating spheres/particles I use the birth object node to bring in my two teapots. Everything else is setup as the tutorial, BUT.. , the teapot dont get pushed by the PheonixFD water.. I do see that the fluids interacts with them as they create swirls/splashes around them, but they dont move..Please advice

    • @RedefineFX
      @RedefineFX  4 роки тому +1

      You can uncheck the Mass override under PhysX Shape and give it a lower mass maybe 0.1 and the bigger objects should get pushed too.

      @invidios 3 роки тому

      @@RedefineFX If your scene interprets the spheres as ping-pong balls. works. something else that seems bigger, volume. it seems that others need to be changed. and here I mean the force with which the water strikes the object or the scale of the scene. I will never move a bus with a bucket of water, even if their size seems right. I'm still researching, I think it depends on the scale of the scene and / or the objects. or the relationship between them.

    Question about the wall.. is there a way for it to not break until the water builds up behind it, like a force and then it collapses. Currently the wall is breaking as the water hits it.. would be nice for the water to hit the wall, build some volume and then the wall gives away - or am I over thinking that waaay too much?
