Kelly, To reduce stress and overthinking be careful what you feed your mind. Avoid comparing yourself with others, any bottled up emotions need to be shared with someone, reduce watching negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. For a relaxed mind observe the sensations of your natural incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 10-15 minutes or more. You can sit anywhere or lay down--eyes open or closed--No deep breathing. Don’t fight your thoughts. Never meditate with expectations. Make it a lifetime habit to observe your breath day and night before sleep, when travelling, when reading, at the workplace etc, etc. Best wishes--Counsellor.

Been having some terrible panic attacks the past couple of weeks over something completely irrational and stupid.
videos like these, meditation and breathing exercises plus an increase in cardio exercises really helped.
Whatever it is you're going through, I can assure you it's not as bad as you think it is,. You're okay, You're probably fine.
Just breathe, keep yourself grounded, and stay within the moment.
It's going to suck for a while but you got this. I know it's hard but it definitely gets a little better every day.

If you have anxiety, try these things:
    - Cold shower everyday after waking up
    - Yoga
    - Meditation
    - Healthy diet
    - Exercise
    - Let go of your ego and accept that you are weak. Learn how to accept your weakness and losses. Don't worry about others, and accept losing. Losing makes you strong if you are willing to learn from it. Be more willing to fail instead of winning. Be more willing to make mistakes instead of doing it perfectly. Be more willing to show your flaws rather than please others. Let go of your big ego.

You are so right. The only thing to do is to take action, there is not trick or any smart ways to deal with anxiety at all. Changing our habits and mindset is not done thru' any miracles. It is hard work and is done little by little by taking concrete action, again and again and again, till we realise and experience the change to become out new habit. If you have been in a state of anxiety for like 5 years - It will also take 5 years to get back on track again. That is the truth none of these smart yoga, meditation, self-development coaches etc tells you - they just want your money.. Same goes to all the sellers of antidepressants and other medicine..

They told me I was having a panic attack and I still didn't understand anything about it. I have had so many since I had the first one and was put on medication for 30 years now. I have read how bad this the withdrawals are going to be if I ever stop taking the benzos. I know many people who have recently been cut off of the meds they were put on years ago and honestly I am afraid of what I will go through if I am cut off of the benzos. I don't understand why it has taken so many years for the Drs to finally say that they are very bad for you. Bring more pillows to support your back when you sleep and to hug. Drink very warm or even hot tea or some kind of drink. Make sure that your bed is also very warm. Hug something that you can place on your stomach and chest. Do some figuring out. Don't run away. You got this. Once you're ready, get out and see people. Being around people is one of the signs you're getting better. These will help if you're going thru knee weakening stuff, real bad stuff. You got this.

Useful video. To reduce stress and overthinking be careful what you feed your mind.

It's that cold dark sucking vortex in your stomach, heart racing, sweaty palms, heavy chest, brain on fire, fear, feeling of walls closing in on you again, isn't it? Everyday, like a clock. It's so bad you twitch whenever your phone buzzes. Just the thought of going outside makes your heart skip beats, lump in your throat and dry mouth. Shoulders are so heavy, you're all slouched down. It's draining, exhausting, life killing and you can't even tell what's the reason to all this.

I would get so bad I would throw up till the anxiety stopped and that was only till my mind would black out. I went to classes that taught me I needed hobbies; preferably where I can be physically active and slowly introduce myself to people.
Learning to speak to people was everything. Especially nowadays where everyone takes things the wrong way and are very sensitive. I'm sadly perceived as insensitive

LSD and mushrooms completely changed my whole outlook on life. I became a better version of myself
This experience gave me a lot of confidence about my self and my body. A bunch of bad thought / behavior patterns were broken. One of these was pretty bad OCD that made me wash my hands a lot. It gave me a lot of hope that things will be fine, this is the one thing that I heard throughout the trip: Everything is alright. The main reason for the trip was my severe depression and it definitely helped me (although it's not gone). Before all I could do was lay in bed. Now I am trying to rebuild my life one step at a time which wasn't possible before."

I suffer from chronic fatigue, which causes bad anxiety. Both issues feed off each other. The more fatigued I am, the worse my concentration is and the more I make mistakes leading to me becoming self-conscious and anxious. Also, the more anxious I get, the more it drains me. The last 16 years of my life have been quite miserable, and I'm only 28. I have trouble holding on to jobs despite my best efforts and have trouble making friends. I can't hold proper conversations as I often freeze up when people talk to me and I find it extremely humiliating. This leaves me to avoid people as much as possible. I feel overcoming my anxiety is crucial to my happiness, but it's really hard when I can barely function due to my fatigue.

    • @timberwolfmountaineer873

I am so sorry to read that, my friend. I'm 39 and in the past 2 or 3 years life got so tied up in a knot of just troubles, problems, issues and just bad things all around me that i can't function anymore as a human being. Instead of freezing i just get very aggressive with people, sometimes ending up in fights. When i'm at home, where i supposed to feel safe i feel nothing but fear and that strange feeling like impending doom is closing in on me. It's really destructive. Herbal medicine doesn't help, benzos only help for a short while. Not even sport is relieving me of the anguish. My relationships are ruined by this and it just feels like there is no escape from it. I understand you, but sadly i can't offer any solutions. Still have hope that people like us will find peace at some point. Stay alive Arcadeus, maybe it will change.

My counselor once helped me telling me that anxiety/panic attacks are just like a book. Theres a beginning, a middle, and an end. We can always recognize the beginning. But once we come to the grips that the attack is real and happening, in that moment we are now in the middle. We know its going to take a while. But it will end. The breathing will regulate, your voice will come back. Then we can realize that the end is near. Weve made it thru the hard part. Now its the end. Its over. We did it. We won.

Bowing down with elbows on the side actually represents the position of prostration(sajda) which is done by Muslims while praying namaaz. And trust me, it does feel a lot better while and after praying namaaz, as we have to do multiple prostrations like these, with an average time of 5-10 seconds taken for each prostration. After namaaz, we prostrate one last time and let our heart out in front of the Lord. That prostration can be as long as one wants, where we mention what we aspire for, what we want and mostly positive stuff about gratefulness for the life. It's not surprising at all that what was laid down for us 1400 years ago and mentioned specifically that this thing will help solve your problems and make you feel better, science has come to find it out not until recently after extensive research and advancement.
