You could cut your final exhaust pipe and rotate it down so the exhaust would come out at the normal cut out. A baloney cut out of the body would look good.
I’m purposely delaying this part of the design- I can’t figure if I want to do a straight pipe straight out or something a bit more exciting. I’m also going to try different tip directions during my gocarting to see if I get more fumed one way or another.
Hey thanks. Just watched your latest video this morning. I love how you involve your kids in the build. I’m envious, my kids are all away in college- would have loved to have done this years back when they could have been more involved.
Spoiler alert... It doesn't rattle at all. I was prepared for it to rattle and to make adjustments, but its truly part of the muffler with all the bolts I used to secure it. Truth be told, I actually don't think I even needed it as heat has not been a problem in the least. But better safe than sorry.
Hello Bart, I’ve had great success using Lenox 14 tooth blades. It’s a good general purpose metal cutting blade. Works well on both mild and stainless.
Yep, I thought about that as well. The roadsters I've ridden in have all had a pretty strong smell. I suspect it might be a bit worse sitting at an idle, but that will be just as dependant on the wind as anything else. As far as cruising along, I doubt it will make much difference as it's puffing pretty hard to the right and left. I spoke to someone who put a "zoomie" style exhaust (exited behind front wheel) on his car, and he said he didn't really notice much of a difference. Here's hoping! :)
Hi Brad, I’m a little embarrassed to say that I’m not sure on that part of my engine. Mike Forte build it for me and I trusted him to outfit it- he’s done so many of these that he seems to really have a good package he offers. I think I have some paperwork in it though, so if I find it I’ll post the info.
Thank you for documenting your build, really nice job
Thanks!

Wow interesting. Looks great.

I think that heat shield is going to rattle. Lets hope not. That spring is going to resonate like a tuning fork too.😁 hopefully not.

What blade did you use for the SS tube cutting? No. of teeth? Material? Sorry if you already mentioned this somewhere.

I have a pretty heavy exhaust smell on mine 347 with a holley sniper. Ideally wouldn't you want it to exit behind you?

Which pulley/belt drive system is that on your engine?

@@randomwerks3763 thanks for the quick response. I really like how clean it is so I'll check with him soon.
