Ha! We’ll the one thing going for me and my 20 degree shop is that I don’t sweat much and I’m always covered with lots of layers. It keeps the fiberglass itch to a minimum. However, it doesn’t relieve the stress of taking a grinder to a perfectly good hood.
I can tell you from experience that you may need to take it off again if you plan to put carpet in it. There are a lot of final touches that are worlds easier with the body off. Especially once you start to shake it down for issues that may need to be addressed.
Must have been tired when you edited this one. You put the hood pin segment in the video twice. I was watching Ford vs. Ferrari the other night and there are a lot of cobras in that. They mentioned that the GT-40 would lift at high speed because air got trapped in the engine compartment and wasn't coming out. With the test that you did, hopefully 75% of the air coming out of that scoop will keep that from happening. Can't wait for the test drive.
Yes, I was indeed tired when I edited that video. I had a crazy busy work week so my work/play ratio was off. I can’t wait to get this in the road. Im getting close!
It looks like your wheels and tires arrived just after you installed the body "for the last time". Take the body off and have the requisite Gokarting experience. LOL
You're doing a great job, you should be proud when this car is rolling under it's own power! Thanks for the video.
Thanks- I’m inching my way towards that day!
So Unique. I also await your vids
Look forward to your posts. I've learnt a ton . Great craftsmanship !
Thanks!
Have you heard of the Kleiner MOD?? it uses hex couplers and threaded rods that attached to the over riders or quick jacks!
I’ve not heard of that, but I can see how that would work well. I’ll do a little research on it!
Hey thanks!!
This looks for all the world like a plastic body going on a 1:24 scale model, including pulling the sides out a bit!
Nicely done, as always. But watching you cut the hood made me itch. I hated working with fiberglass on my Type 65 Coupe!

Yep, I suspect I will take it off again …. But here’s hoping :)

Hahahaha! It’s funny you mentioned that, I’m seriously considering it. :)
