No need to tear anyone else’s music down. You don’t know how hard others work. That guitar was a custom piece designed for Jimmy. The bottom neck is a twelve-string and the top is a six-string. Jimmy would play the bottom when he wanted a more "acoustic" sound with the chiming strings, and then switch to the top for a harder rock feel. He eventually had a triple-neck designed, with a 12-string, 6-string, and a mandolin at the top. He's a groundbreaker, is Jimmy. :)

Funny story about this song. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 5. I love and still love going to music stores to play new guitars. I have not met a musician who can’t play this song. A good musician. Strangely, it’s a song you learn early in life and the store workers get sick of hearing it. I played it once at a guitar store and the clerk ask if I could play another song. I just said ok, but it’s such a beautiful song.

Led Zeppelin is MUSIC! The 4 of them made music. Each one was integral l to them being MASTERS. Absolute best band EVER. Led Zeppelin 4 is so much about Lord of the Rings. There are so many references in this album.
Led Zeppelin was a hard rock/heavy blues band but they played a variety of styles. They started in 1968 and disbanded in 1980 with the death of their drummer. It was comprised of guitarist Jimmy Page who created the band and produced all their albums. Vocalist Robert Plant who also played harmonica, bassist John Paul Jones who also played all keys and mandolin, and drummer John Bonham. The guitar Jimmy is playing is a Gibson EDS -1275 double neck guitar which weighed about 10-12 pounds. The top neck is 12-strings while the bottom is a 6-string. It allowed him to move between both to give different guitar tones without having to switch guitars. The performance you reacted to was filmed at Madison Square Garden in 1973. Hey guys, Keep going with Zeppelin. They are the "Piper".....when Zeppelin calls the tune, the Zep Heads WILL follow..... That was the legend Jimmy Page on guitar and it was a double-neck guitar. It's a 6 string and a 12 string in one. LIVE is always a treat with these guys! NEXT: "Whole Lotta Love", "Immigrant Song" and "The Lemon Song".... Any Zeppelin song is incredible, but those are 3 REALLY good ones to get the Zep train going full speed. P.S. I'm Tina (my husband is Mike) So, that being said..... I'm with Jai.... Stairway to heaven was the song playing for my first slow dance in my Jr. High gym. 1975, her name was leslie. Even so many years later, I'm still grateful she said yes, and always have ear to ear smile when reminiscing:) I guess I should add that it was first fast dance also. The song gives you both in on playing. My first official dance was a two fer:)
Enjoyed this reaction. More Zeppelin please. Like: "Heartbreaker", Fool In The Rain, All Of My Love, kashmir. Yes you're right about the guitar it's called a double neck. Top one is a 12 string, bottom is a 6. Both necks have a head stock so double head guitar was on the right track for sure. Much love
*#HALF* was *"half"* right, many call a *multi-neck guitar* a *double headed guitar.* But it's technically called a *Schrammel Guitar* has a *6* string neck & second *4 to 9* Bass string neck

They are the only band I would like to go back into time to see live, every time I hear this song I close my eye and just listen and zone out.
Congratulations! You just witnessed one of the top 5 guitar solos ever
Welcome to the amazing world of Zepellin!!! Keep going down this rabbit hole!✌❤
NOPE, Robert's pants aren't too tight.... They're just right!!! ;) ;)
SIDE NOTE: I've been subbed for a while now and once AGAIN..... I didn't get a notification of an upload of yours! Luckily I came across it in the thumbnails, although it was 24 hours after u uploaded it.... I noticed others have been saying they're having a similar issue when u posted that YT community poll the other day. Just wanted you to be aware that this might also be an issue with other vids causing a decrease in views. Peace...
******* I would've clicked the second you uploaded this Zeppelin reaction, had I seen It!!! ********
It used to be the grab your significant other and dance song in school, outings, and home!!
Jai hi! I know this is old and nobody will ever probably ever read this but I had that same t-shirt only it was purple and I bought it at the LA Forum when I saw Led Zeppelin the first time in 1975 then I saw them again in 1977. I loved that t-shirt I wore it till it fell off of me! I wanted everybody to know that I had gone to see Led Zeppelin it was my very first high-profile concert with a high profile band... love you guys keep up the great work!
Well, you two just reacted to arguably the best Rock band of all time performing arguably the greatest Rock song of all time. Where is there to go from here?
Every song on all 8 Zeppelin albums is where they go from here!! ;) ;)
You are being blessed by The Best Rock Band in the History of Music.
Hoping for limited interruptions. Love the Tshirt Jai!
Now you guys should check out Hearts version of Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center. They were honoring Led Zeppelin. It is unbelievable and I think you guys will love it
Led Zepellin. All of my love
Great great band. Amazing. Thanks for the reaction.
Led Zeppelin is my favorite band!! Please react to Zeppelin's "How Many More Times", "Bring It On Home", and "The Lemon Song"... you will not be disappointed!!!
That's called making the guitar sing....✨🔥💯😎
Grew up on Zeppelin, being a teen in 70's we listened to them all the time.
12:50 " our shadows taller than our souls" Dude you're only the third person I've seen react to this lyric. So many people miss this in their reactions.
Guitar has 12 string top and 6 string bottom. Great sound. Jimmy is a master.
If u havent already.. Listen to Heart's tribute to led zepplin.. She kills this song!
A 12 string and a 6 string combo! I love watching Jai get music and half, you got it too!
Much love
Check out Led Zeppelin tribute Stairway to Heaven at Kennedy Center Honors with Heart
Love me some Half and Jai . . . Led Zeppelin is cool too.
*#HALF* was *"half"* right, many call a *multi-neck guitar* a *double headed guitar.* But it's technically called a *Schrammel Guitar* has a *6* string neck & second *4 to 9* Bass string neck
Led Zeppelin Marathon…please and Thank you!
Kashmir - live from Celebration Day (a must)
The greatest drummer ever, John Bohnam passed away in the early 80’s and zeppelin dismantled until, John’s son Jason joined the band. You will see the resurrected beast (Jason) on drums in this clip. Greatness lives on!
your are correct its called double headed/neck SG(spanish guitar), made by gibson especially for jimmy page the guitar player for led zeppelin. the manufacturer of the guitar is called gibson, the model is SG (spanish guitar), les paul special, double neck guitar one 12 string one 6 string
you both need to see dazed and confused same concert as this it is amazing playing the guitar with a violin bow wow
Whitesnake's in the heat of the night.

The greatest band in the world playing what might be the most famous song in the world. Just so good.
Greatest Rock Song performed by the Greatest Rock Band.. ♠W.G.
Your comments on live vs studio are so spot on. Exactly how I feel
Zeppelin! top 3 band of all time.
with the flute this song has such a "fantasy" or "medieval" style blended with modern rock
It's a recorder not a flute, but in the live version JPJ plays this part on the Mellotron.
