Well Done Rory I began my flight training in June 2018, as a class of 6. Sadly 2 left us and i am last of us 4 to pass. I had major setbacks with exam fails, but have only 1 left to pass and finish my last 50 hours. I cannot wait.. Congratulations Cap't

Congrats. I’ve been 2 and a half years trying to get my Private Licence! Bloody lockdowns, bloody weather, So very done to do it is such a short time.

Was about ready to do practice test back in January. And then lockdown 3! Now my exams could be out of date if this goes on too long :(

Cheers James. Wow, 19000 hours is a lot! I am weighing up my options but it's looking like hour building, maybe another type rating and then FI but an IR is also a great option so I'm still deliberating really.
I’ve got 19000 hours because I’m old Rory! 😂 I was a Bristow Cadet many years ago and did some Oil Rig flying out of Aberdeen for 4 years. Currently I’m an Airline Pilot and also doing some R22 and R44 flying for fun. It’s an expensive game flying helicopters though. What is the North Sea situation at the moment? It is a very good learning environment but I guess it’s a bit depressed at the moment like everything else. Whatever happens you have that license and things will turn around. I really don't know what the situation is yet but I'm working on finding out and I'm sure it will pick up in due course. almost brings tears to my eyes! I don't think I can pass the class 1 medical as I was born with asthma (fit as a fiddle otherwise) but nice to see others achieve their dream. Good luck with Bristow.
I’m sorry to hear that. I had bad asthma as a child too, and couldn’t join the military as a result. I grew out of it by 16 and have not had any symptoms for decades which is very lucky. You don’t know unless you try getting a class 1. Thank you for watching and good luck.
