What a fun idea! The solution for adding multiple buttons for the space bar is really clever. That wiring looks like it was an absolute nightmare to do 😅
This was a cool project but I couldn't help thinking you could have used 24mm arcade buttons rather than 30mm? The whole keyboard would be a little less chonky but quite a lot more usable!
After seeing you game with it, I’m thinking the addition of a trackball would be perfect. A slightly wider box, with room on the right to add 2 or 3 more buttons along with an arcade style trackball, and maybe even an arcade scroll wheel, this thing could have both the keyboard and mouse functionality in the same unit! Or instead of a wider box, an add-on that could be removable, with the trackball and buttons.
this is great i turned a keyboard into a arcade pad, was kind of similar process, i will say if you ever do a project like this in the future i would recommend 24mm sanwa buttons
Surprised you didn't go for Gamer Finger buttons. They're literal keyboard switches but also arcade buttons. That way they last. Suzo Happ is extremely bulky and you could've made a super small enclosure instead of a pirates chest. You also could've used clear button tops and then make it flush with the buttons so that you're not touching label making adhesive paper and just the button. You could've color coded them as well as make full on images. You also could've used a neutrik to make it more flush for the usb
Ideas for v2.0 create a new lid with a bevel (ramp) for your wrists, you could hot glue some foam for a wrist rest. roll all the edges of the lid down with sandpaper and a rasp. add a Joystiq for arcade games.
Awesome video. I learned a lot about wiring and circuits. You did a great job soldering when I took beginning engineering we had a sodering project and well let's just say I put way too much solder on things and ruined it. Not the best outcome but you got to learn somehow.
Why not solder the wire harnesses into the 3-pin hot swap switches? Seems like there would be some big advantages: - Easier to work with them one-one-one vs. dealing with a tangled mess of wires - Easier to replace later if anything goes wrong - No need to take the keyboard apart - Easy to change the underlying keyboard later without rewiring
Is there a device that would be able to treat every key as a separate Bluetooth device so you could simply run power to each button and have the on/off transmitted via Bluetooth to a controller that is also Bluetooth to a PC? Would save a lot of time wiring and only need power to be wired.
Im gonna attempt this but im thinking of drilling the holes at a angle so the buttons feel right ill also use square buttons and rectangle for space bar
This is amazing, I really liked the idea, the process and the whole concept in general. Think you'll ever be interested in making a smaller/ortho version of this?
I want a keyboard that has common windows key combinations as single keys, like cut, copy, paste, save, screenshot. It's weird that in 2024 we have to remember control-c, control-v, etc just to perform everyday computer tasks in windows.
Wow, my first thought is that people with disabilities might be able to better access typing/gaming with this type of keyboard. Very cool!
Very true!
@@QuietNerd dude please plss make me one
I really love this idea!! This would make me feel a lot better about myself if I were disabled!
@@sanjicook08 Not sure if trolling or just a dick, maybe both?

It was a lot of wiring lol but if you take it one at a time its not that bad - Cheers!
Use two mushroom buttons for spacebar, an industrial switch-based joystick for arrow keys, and an E-stop switch with its latch removed for escape key.
The only 2 programs you need for arcade use. Xoutput for xinput and world of joysticks for xinput to keyboard. Play everything no matter what.

Now I want one! But I would build it into a desk.
That be cool
If ever there was a build idea specfically for me to love lol
bro didn't even use sanwas, crowns or gamerfingers this is pure masochism
How am I just now finding you! Keep up the great content homie
Thank you! and will do! Cheers!
Ideas like this keep my faith in humanity alive
Amazing work Broseph ! Looks really well made !!!
Thanks - Cheers!
Definitely unorthodox practices. Absolute madlad =D
As someone who's built so many fightsticks, this is so cool. I might have to do this now with some Sanwa buttons
Thats awesome! Would have been cool to see you do special colors for WASD though
this is great i turned a keyboard into a arcade pad, was kind of similar process, i will say if you ever do a project like this in the future i would recommend 24mm sanwa buttons
Hyper Olympics. Shred the keys dude
Man I love your builds
I'm glad you enjoy :D - Cheers!

Thanks!
Wow it's keyboard for his yellow trailer look good when he fits it
You're amazing at these builds man!
Thanks! - Cheers!
Cool idea! Good job on the build.
Thanks!
love it! I love your ideas!!!!!!!
:D
I have some Sanwa buttons and an old Hitbox that I wanted to build onto a keyboard board. Thanks for showing me this is possible!
Sadly the inside of the keyboard I got does not look like this and I cannot make the proper type of connection
Awesome video!
Awesome build
You're definitely not the only one to want to do that, but you might be the first to have had the guts, determination and patience.
That is ridiculously cool!
love it !

mans you doing infinite combos than typing a long essay
You would love the program (world of joysticks)
this is insane but 999IQ build
What a funky idea!
All you need now is a joystick mouse
I love it. I can see someone making money off this idea. Super unique original idea. Should be in shorts form and it will easily make a million views
OMG SOMEONE FINALLY DID IT
this going to the best rhythm game keyboard
this keyboard would be cool for rhythm games
you should of added a turbo feature so all the keys can be on turbo mode especially for gaming
This is some work.
:D

Hi mate, great build 👏👏
What make is the pink keyboard you used for the build, where you got it. Thanks 🇬🇧

I want an arcade macropad 😂

@@QuietNerd your welcome my friend
what wires did you get for this? i was thinking of building my own.
3 words: large track ball

You gotta make a joy stick mouse
1:16 so you can go ahead and cut what?
Wow, that must have been your test of patience

Someone had to do it. 👍🏽
Follow up idea: Lightgun for a mouse 🤔
My friend needs this in his life, he has BIG hands
Street Fighter Mortal Kombat
Make a custom mouse now!
So interesting

I would appreciate an ASMR video with this keyboard.
Imagine playing Typing of the Dead on this thing!
I’ll think I’ll had a mini fan on the side!!
Amesome! Would you do a video that is about you? Like you first name, your
background… nothing too personal of course. My name is Kes, from NS Canada.
Maby one day! ps Jason is the name!

how did u do all this its amazing
Amazing love it🦖🌎👌🐝👍🏼🤟🏾👊🏿
Anyone know of any coin doors i could solder to a key on a keyboard? Im new to soldering and not sure if a coin door works the same way
could this be used for speedrunners? i think it could
Oh brother hahaha, U da best
Nah you should have made the attorney keys a joystick 🕹
That would have been cool. But anyways it us really cool
Introducing the hurt box
Let's be honest here now )). This is not a keyboard. This is a keyBOX.
It would be cool if you made it flush to the desk
Why dont you put stick in arrow button
This would be way too expensive for me to build without a salvage. I'd have to import this stuff.
Do you have a fire tablet
I will just drill my table hahahahaha
(Idea) create an joystick mouse
Why is the numbers blue and purple
Replace arrow keys with a stick!
Do you still and really use this crazy thing? And...do you ever read\ answer any comments?? I guess we'll C😳
Now do a mouse with the same buttons
JEsus christ why is your soldering iron set to 750 degrees, what are you trying to melt? Silver?
One more hole for a stick
