- In this walkthrough, I show how I'm using the Morningstar MC6 Pro midi controller to navigate my pedalboard and a few plugins within Ableton. This controller is fully customizable and capable of so much. This video is just how I'm currently using it!

Alright, this video made me realise a few things.
1: I need a mc6 pro
2: a REALLY need a microcosm
3: i suck at anything to do with midi
Great video mate. Super helpful
Yeah this is thr most musical live use of microcosm that I have seen to date. Well done. Clever midi implementation.
Yo this video is awesome. Thank you for making this.
Great! Just ordered mine for controlling Ableton!
Have fun!

Kudos for keeping the labeling/colors so clean, ALL CAPS is the way, reads much better that way. It's really easy to make everything look really messy with non-matching colors, different font sizes etc. I wish Morningstar curated their UI a bit more. You did great navigating those pitfalls!
Hi! Would it be possible for you to either do another video explaining how you programmed the mc6 pro this way, or show the structure of the presets etc? I just ordered one and want to use in a similar way (also with an h90, 3 chase bliss pedals and a meris enzo).
Awesome video. I rewound the intro several times to get a feel for your organization. The home top right and page bottom left is an interesting pattern. Do you use the notion of playlists and songs? Would love to see your ideas for navigating songs with a few preset changes.
man incredible video. was wondering what amp or amp plugin/pedal you were using. sounds great
Thank you! I’m using the Walrus Audio ACS1.
Could you do a video showing how to set all this up with the editor. Would be VERY helpful!
Very tasteful! Would this setup work with an MPC?
excellent usage of MC6 Pro’s functionality. is there a way when using a switch as momentary, to make the display change color or dimness?
Hmmm I think I was trying to get that to happen but couldn’t figure it out. I could’ve been going about it the wrong way though.
Please restock soon!! Most models are sold out Q2 2023.
just send them an email, i got mine in a week
Great video! What’s the audio interface you are using? How good/bad the latency is to run plugins as effects while playing live? Thanks ahead for the answer!
I use a Presonus Firestudio Project. Latency isn't really noticeable unless I'm using a bunch of effects and need to increase the buffer size.
@@DougHanson thanks for the reply!
Please more Ableton and mc6 pro 😊. Have tried the Ableton looper device?
Not yet, this controller would be great for that though!
@@DougHanson yes. Specially with the new Push standalone
Will H9 do the same stuff for the loop random playbacks stuff?
Hi, how do you sync the "state" of the Ableton devices with the mc6 pedal state?
How do you send midi clock from ableton to your controller? Can you give instructions as there are no good instructions on this. I have an MC8, with midi clock through set to on. In ableton, my preferences are set to have the MC8 out in SYNC with ableton but nothing happens.
How are u going through to and out ablton
Hey man old video but anyway you could do a deep dive video how you program the morningstar? I have an mc8 and while i know a little how to use it still very green and i am only able to program simple cc’s like on/off toggling. Would love to set mine up exactly like how you have yours set up. Have almost all the same pedals as well too lol. Thanks
can I use two MC6's at once?
I don't see why not, but the MC6 Pro allows you to have so many banks and a lot of commands per press of a switch. Curious what would you use 2 for?
@@DougHanson I ended up doing tw on my rig and it's fantastic. Both work together. It's a lot of screens and information for doing all kinds of things.
Where do u live and can you teach lessons online
Actually, that’s not very helpful use of the MC6 PRO. You’re still having to dance all over your pedals. What’s a waste of a controller
have you considered others use cases might be different to yours
Ackchyually….
