😊 I’m so looking forward to my visit to Japan. I do hope you’ll both still let me cook some American dishes for you and of course some sweets...especially for you Sinichi!! I’m getting an Air B&B while in Tokyo just so I can cook while visiting. And I’ll be bringing a few small items for you both from my neck of the woods. If we can’t set up a time to meet, I’ll mail them to you while I’m in Japan, that way you’ll receive them quickly. 😉🥰
Hakodate is a sister city to my city in Australia, and I went over there as a teenager on a swimming tour and have always wanted to go back. It's an amazing city, and we were dressed up to participate in the Hakodate Matsuri as well which was incredible.
I'm glad Satoshi got some squid in his ramen, even if it's out of season. The knit cap is a great look, by the way.
We made it to Hakodate just so we could eat our way through some of your recommendations. The tram ride out to Jogaimo Factory was so worth it! The potato icecrem and tri-selection of wedges was delicious! We also managed to find saku saku roll - we got the last two in the shop! Although not on your list, we had incredible dinners (yes, two!) with shio ramen from Shinano and after we came down the ropeway we tried the famous soup curry at Begirama. Tomorrow we'll stop by Snaffles on our way back to the station. We love how passionate you both are. Thanks for making these videos.

About eating soft serve when its cold outside, it's fine as long as it's not too cold. When I was a kid in Montreal, Canada, I got some soft serve from a mall. My parents and I left the mall shortly after. It was a dark, cold winter night, so cold that my soft serve started freezing 😅
That potato ice cream sounds heavenly! I’d love to go to Hokkaido in the spring or summer - I don’t tolerate super cold weather too well 😅

@@helvetiqa Ooh! I bet the leaves were gorgeous and colorful! I was able to go to Kyoto and Osaka in October 2019 - just slightly too early to see the maples turn color :( I'd love to go back to Japan in the spring to see the cherry blossoms and other spring flowers.

Oh, I should have watched it before my Hakodate trip. The potato soft ice looks sooo good! 😢 My husband and I loved Lucky Pierrot so much that we ate there three times. We loved the fish burger the most.

Love Hakodate. The first time I went with my spouse and a goof friend both from central America. I surprised them by dressing up as Santa claus at the Santa Claus themed Lucky Pierrot and I've gone back with another friend for the Christmas tree lighting and I've been alone too. I grew up in New Hampshire in the US so I love snow and northern towns. I'll be going with a friend from Mexico in late November and hope to try the places you suggested. Love your videos. You guys are great !

I see what you meant about the city reminding you of San Francisco especially when you look down the slopes to the bay. But you're right snow is extremely extremely extremely rare in San Francisco.

Potatoes are one of my favorite foods and imo the perfect food. So much can be done with them.... but ice cream?!! 😲 whoa! I want to try that so bad. And it was so cute how they decorated it with chips. Yummy!😋
Know you said that building was yellow and grey, but I see blue. And even though I don't like bringing politics or anything like that I to videos like this, the yellow and blue is very, very relevant today. Then seeing the candles outside, it's kind of prophetic. Aside from that, beautiful content, and what an incredibly gorgeous place, thank you for showing us.

Ughhh everything looked so delicious! A few years ago, my boyfriend and I took the ferry from Akita to Hakodate during winter. It was quite an experience! We also tried the yubari melon soft cream which was heavenly. We found Lucky Pierot by accident and decided to go in because it looked so unique and the burgers wowed us! So juicy, big, and cheap! This made me miss Hokkaido a lot, and really hope the pandemic will end so we can travel again. Thanks for the video guys!

Yes exactly. I've always wanted to go to Japan for "years" - then I met my pen pal Shizu. After 10 years of pen pals, I finally wanted to visit her. I was then with her exactly at the time when the snow festival was taking place. I was in Sapporo for 10 days - my nephew and I roamed the city every day.
After that we were in Tokyo for four days and had the opportunity to meet Shinichi & Satoshi.
10 days in Sapporo and 4 days in Tokyo were not enough. We could have spent months there.
Unfortunately I am severely visually impaired. Fortunately, my nephew served me as my "two-legged guide dog". Without the help of my nephew I would probably still be at the airport looking for my connecting flight. 🤣
Amazing video as always Shinichi & Satoshi, Hakodate does remind me of my hometown of San Francisco! But w/ the added delight of snow, I must make it there whenever the world allows it 😊
I discovered your channel while on medical leave from a leg wound back in March 2020. One of your reviews about the sandwiches happen to come up and I clicked it. Been hooked ever since. I started binging from your very first video and worked my way up to the current. Since I'm up to date, I'm working on all the other channels as well, currently with Satoshi's channel. I love learning about the food and culture it's so amazing. Only downside is I get hungry while watching lol. Keep up the fabulous work!

I only got limited time to visit hakodate, but I was fortunate to be able to eat that giant burger from Lucky Pierrot.
14:05 I would remove some of the lettuce and set it to the side to use as a pallet cleanser them smush the burger don’t take out the chopstick holding it together.

the first snack if you put on top of a hot coffee and leave for 30 seconds. The steam will make it nice and soft.
