What does the next Super Smash Bros. game need to have?

- Super Smash Bros. Is one of Nintendos most popular franchises but I did feel that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was missing somehting! Here are my thoughts on what I would like to see in the next Super Smash Bros. games!

The next Smash bros NEEDS to have to have characters that only I like.

Ultimate had you choose the stage before choosing your character because it was designed to load the stage quicker while choosing your fighter.
The OTHER reason why Sakurai chose not to do another story mode like Subspace is because he didn’t like how players spoiled themselves with walkthroughs and felt that watching the cutscenes after playing were a means to reward players for playing that far and thus watching something they didn’t work for is cheap.
Sakurai not wanting to make Subspace again because players would prematurely watch cutscenes on UA-cam sounds like the biggest bs in the world.
But considering it is someone working for the company that doesnt like it when people make major tournaments for games they made 20 years ago, I'm not surprised.
I think the break the target mode was fun because you have to know all the moves of a character to be able to break all the targets in time

You're probably the only person i've ever heard that wants to see Smash Tour come back lol. I think the biggest thing the next smash bros game needs if there is one, is actual working online, cuz thats something smash bros has always struggled with ever since it was introduced.

The UI could be way better, less menu diving for controller button changes, etc. remove the hold b for going backwards

You NEED to at least have a mode where you can play as bosses
I think bosses should be normal playable characters (you won’t be able to use them online because of how op they are though)

New subscriber over here been playing super smash Bros since the very beginning just to think the game has come along way especially with super smash Bros ultimate already been out for six years. We definitely need a new entry for sure but I wonder which way they will go this time around by the way awesome video and the 3DS version of smash four had smash run. That’s one of the best modes of all time for sure super smash Brothers Brawl brought along the incredible story mode that everybody loved and I still till this day

What needs improvement: graphics/art style, online play, single player content, music (in my opinion) and of course some touches like an original intro movie with the announcer saying the title.
I’m surprised a lot of people don’t like the music. What tracks weren’t you a fan of?
@@therandomencounter Ever since Brawl I felt like some of the songs had the wrong kind of feel to them. As if they are trying to be epic and failing at it. Maybe overproduced is the right word for it? To give some examples of songs I don't like, Lifelight and the Big Brain Academy theme I can't really get behind. Smash 64 had great midi arrangements and Melee had amazing orchestrated mashups, but the other games are really all over the place. Going through the new remixes from Ultimate now, they're not bad. As with everything in that game they lack a cohesive theme though. Some minor complaints would be remaking calm songs (like beneath the mask) or even sad songs (like Midna's lament) into upbeat versions - why? And why are there 15 versions of the Zelda main theme? No offense to anyone who enjoys the music, this is just my opinion.

That would be cool. I thought they would add Leon , Chris , or Jill. Also Dante would be nice from DMC.
Dude smash 4 was an underwhelming game. I wouldn’t call it bad but simply put anything it did Ultimate did so much better. To this day I see no reason to go back to it like I can with every other smash bros game. Smash Tour certainly doesn’t do it for me I despise that mode snd World of Light was so much better.

Mega man need to be the snes mega man version, not the nes.
In my opinion for smash bros ultimate deluxe or smash bros infinity and beyond. I most loved SNK fighting game characters and metal slug characters with include English dub voices and South Korean dub voices on the announcer and all Pokemon voices. And last is SNK samurai shodown 64 boss battle called it gandara the giant purple muscular steroid blindfolded monster with big teeth is really scary. And remember SNK corporation video games are most recognized Japanese company in my heart ❤️. Thank you.
1. Characters: I'm not going to say who I want in Smash, that alone is it's own can of worms (that, and I don't want to get chewed out for it). I just want a balance between characters from Nintendo's own catalog and third-party guests. Don't go too wild like last time, because HOO BOY! Speculation was not enjoyable. Maybe the roster wouldn't be as big to make way for more meatier content, as that was a criticism of Ultimate.
2. Moveset: Returning fighters need up to date moves from their recent titles(that means YOU Sonic, Samus, and Ganondorf). Also, I'd like for characters to have a Shield + B move like Inklings, and back side special like Terry, just to cram in more attacks in there.
3. 3D plane Smash: Yeah, I know. It's wild, it's insane, but it could work as a separate mode. Think Power Stones, but with Smash characters. Yeah, the controls would have to be remapped to accommodate for the 3rd Dimension, but I still like to see them experiment with it, though.
4. Smash Run returns. Self explanatory. Best mode of Smash 4 deserves to return, with Multi-player.
5. Subspace 2. Sakurai has no reason to not do another story mode of that scale. Yeah, it was epic, and yeah it's bound to get leaked, just like the characters. These things just happen.
6. Art style: personal preference, but I want an art style that combines Ultimate's art with more of a stylized cel shaded look.
7. Duo/Tag Team Final Smash: it would be exclusive to team battles. You and a teammate could pull off some sick finisher if you both active your Final Smash when your next to each other. Just think of the combinations!

I agree with everything except for 3D! I’ve just never been a fan of 3D fighting games outside of Soul Calibur.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind just getting a smash game that was only focused on a story mode. Something along the lines of a smaller roster than ultimate but a bigger one than brawl. Im aware of Sakurai’s viewpoint of cutscenes but honestly he might have changed his opinion on it, especially since the story mode is a topic that has been brought up.
That would be nice. I just want more of the side scrolling adventure modes! Thanks for watching!

I personally think we don't need a new smash bros for 1 main reason
Smash ultimate brought back every playable character from the past games
If they go forward with a new game, then there's a big chance that there will be missing character, which no one would be happy over
Basically ultimate set the bar too high and I doubt they would be able to achieve that again

I believe in one of Sakurai’s video on his UA-cam channel, it had seemed to hint at that he will be working on the next game. He even said he couldn’t picture anyone else but him doing it.
What the next Smash Bros. game needs to have is:
1. Movesets that fit the characters and their franchises better (Mario and Luigi using their hammers, DK and Diddy throwing Barrels, Captain Falcon using his gun as a projectile). The Custom Moves should return.
2. Less third-party characters. Smash Bros. is a Nintendo franchise, and those characters being in it makes it feel less Nintendo-like. Snake, Cloud, Bayonetta, Joker, Kazuya and Sora shouldn't come back.
3. Better sounding music, no disgraceful remixes that ruin the original songs.
4. The fighters acting more like their canon selves (Mario being more happy and energetic, DK not being a generic monkey, Olimar and Isabelle retaining their voices from their games).
5. Prettier color palettes. I don't want Bowser to look so gross and ugly again compared to his own games.
6. An Adventure mode, that captures the amazement of the Super Mario, Kirby, Metroid and Legend of Zelda games.
7. Another Fire Emblem character, specifically a Knight.
It needs to not exist. The world does not need another Smash Bros. Everyone has their favourite by now.

We don't need new Mario games, but Nintendo will keep making them as long as people buy them.
If a new smash brothers is released, people will buy it, so Nintendo has incentive to make another one.

@@clean-6291 My point is that not a single human being benefits from a new Smash Bros game existing. It will just fragment the scene further for no reason, and of the few things that could potentially be added to make the game genuinely better, Nintendo will almost certainly add none.
At least with Mario games, even if you've played them all, it's still cool to have more levels to beat and more powerups to play around with. The Mario "series" gets longer. Smash isn't really supposed to be played or talked about in that way. You find the game and the character you like, and you play stock matches indefinitely. Everything else is superfluous.
LOL they've released a new smash for every console since the N64.
