- Yooo!! Thanks for watching friends!! Again sorry for the really late video, I got sick in-between uploads and combine that with work it delayed this video by like 2 weeks. That being said I hope you enjoyed the video and my speculation on what Pokemon will be returning as well as what New Regional Variants, Evolutions and what New Megas we'll get in Legends Z-A. This is by far the most I've ever edited for a video yet and I'm proud of how it came out and I hope you guys can see it!

It’s so bizarre we never got Mega Slowking or Mega Frosslass despite their counterparts Slowbro and Glailie getting Megas in ORAS. I think those two are among the most likely.
Though France does have a dark history with kings… so I’m not sure what design they’d go for while keeping it kid friendly

Although i do think referring to Slowbro/Slowking and Glalie/Froslass as counterparts is kinda wrong. I feel like we should call them evolutionary relatives instead, since unlike the other counterparts, they do share DNA. In a similair vain, Carbink should get a Mega Evolution as well, since Diancie is a Carbink that got transformed, so it makes no sense why Diance would be able to Mega, while Carbink wouldn't.
Like, in an ideal world, Butterfree should get a Mega Evolution as well, because Beedrill has one and for the longest time i wanted it, but it doesn't need one anymore, because it got love with its G-Max form.
Make it a ghost type and make the shellos float around it. I shall now be accepting my pay check from gamefreak now
Actually, Vivillon or Furfrou, and Florges can still be able to mega evolve, they can receive Alcremie Gmax treatment. Remember that Alcremie has freaking 63 variants but still able to Gmax...
It makes sense as the altered forms are only visual. They don't affect the stats which makes it easier for them to Mega Evolve and makes sense why ones like Gourgeist would be less likely as they have stats that change on the size and the Mega would either have 1 unanimous stat pool or they would go above and beyond to slightly alter the stats of each.

It's insane to think that this game was announced 5 months ago and we still don't know ANYTHING about it. Not even the Starters.

How is it insane? Legends Arceus had an almost six month gap between its announcement in February and its first gameplay trailer in August.
@@annaangelic2318Legends Arceus was announced with gameplay footage, as well as the starters. Sure there was a six month gap between the initial reveal and the next trailer, but we still had a little bit of info. So far we’ve seen nothing of Z-A.

Edit more: follow me, 0 spatk and all that goes into other stats, ability also combines: sap sipper, water absorb, flash fire, earth eather, lighting rod, ... and all other types, spread fire and dark stab, ability 6+ on switch in, spore, prankster but on everything, ability that lowers all opposing stats by 6

Mega Raichu or a full evo. It’s Gorochu time baby. They’re in the power plant and eating all the French cheese or something. And assuming things tie into the anime you no longer need to worry about rehashing an Ash’s Pikachu not wanting to evolve plotline, while also having more reason to involve Pikachu in your merch again, it’s a win-win.

ITs Not really a 4stage Evolution. BC Pikachu is the Base Pokemon. Pichu IS a Baby Pokemon which is below Base Pokemon. @@lelandwhitehead56

I think the biggest blindspot for megas is the fact that only one gen 5 pokemon has a mega. Obviously at the time of gen 6, unova was still very fresh in memory and had a mixed reception from some people for its dex, but I think we're long overdue for some gen 5 love for megas
There's only one gen 6 mega and that's a shiny. When they're giving new megas, they have to focus on gen 5 and especially gen 6 because that's literally the region the game is set in. The starters, aegislash, or florges would all be great, and for unova i'd really want something for zebstrika or krookodile

One thing I do want to say is Hoopa can be used to bring the hoenn legends and mewtwo into legends ZA as ORAS already set that up. I do think the primals will be in as a postgame thing because they’re often lumped over with megas. SWSH had the DP legends yet BDSP and Legends Arceus happened so I wouldn’t roll them off.
One other thing is, in Pokémon Home Spidops has unused data of a new form or an Evo? I can’t remember which is which but I’m fairly confident it was an evolution. Just saying to fuel the fire.

Some other possibilities are that the Pokémon that appear in the Kalos War flash back could also be valid candidates for Megas!
I know it will never happen, but I just think it would be HILARIOUS if they made Mega Klefki just turn into a literal car to drive over things. It wouldn't fit the time period even remotely, and they already have Vivavroom, but it would be funny! XD
Make them trade evos like The Gen 5 Bugs having one a stolen older car and the other a buggie

Your Mega picks are good, especially Xerneas and Yveltal (considering I think they should’ve gotten Megas in the first place)
I’d like to say that Gen V needs some Mega Evos too, considering all we have is Mega Audino.
Some of my potential picks would be:
Xerneas and Yveltal, Chesnaught Delphox and Greninja, Dragonite, Flygon and Milotic, but there are so many I would like to see that I can’t name off the top of my head.
I personally don't want anymore Gen 1 and gen 3 Pokemon Mega's, considering we currently have 13 from Kanto and 20 from Hoenn (+2 Primals, making it 22).
Froslass and Slowking should 100% get Mega's, since it makes no sense Glalie and Slowbro are able to Mega Evolve, while their evolutionary relatives can't. Carbink is in a similair boat as well.

Everything here is well researched. I also believe its Noivern and Heliolisk plus the gen 6 starters and leggos to be the sure candidates, aside from Flygon. It just makes too much sense to not happen

Along with Pokemon like Carbink the ability to Mega Evolve, some Gen 5 should also be able to do that. Garbodor (one of my favorites), Ferrothorn, Chandelure, and Vanilluxe. In all honesty, I put Vanilluxe just because I want to see it Mega Evolve into an ice cream sundae or something like that.

I would normally agree with Pokemon with multiple forms (reigonal forms, seperate evolutions etc.) won't and shouldn't get a Mega, but seeing how Gamefreak made Dipplin evolve into Hydrapple, making it the only 3 stage evolution line of Applin and basically making Appletun and Flapple useless I don't think we can safely rule them out anymore, for better and (probably) for worse.
It’s a shame that flapple and appletun feel obsolete now but they at least have gigantamax forms.
@@THGMR-ox7sd I mean what use is having forms that's not only obsolete since Gen 8 is over, but also are exactly the same as one another. Honestly, Flapple should've had a much different G-Max design than having exact same model copied from G-Max Appletun but SwSh has much worse issues than that so it's not too shocking.

eh...each Applin evolution works for different purposes...Hydrapple is heavily sp.atk based and very bulky, working better for single battles, Appletun and Flapple work better in doubles, with Appletun being more defensive and balanced and Flapple being a physical attacker...and Dipplin with eviolite becomes a wall

Hoopa is a Kalos Pokemon, they could use it as an explanation why certain lendaries are available.

It is posible we get a feature similar to the Space-Time Distortions from Legends: Arceus in Legends: Z-A, which could allow us to get Pokemon from the future, such as Mewtwo as well as the Fossils or other Pokemon not native to the region.
True, but i do think we are getting a future setting for Legends ZA, since a past setting is kinda problematic.
They already confirmed we are only going to be in Lumiose City and not the entire Kalos region
We are re-building Lumiose City, so humans and Pokemon can live in harmony together.
This makes a past setting problematic, as we already know how Lumiose City looks like in the present.
They already delved into a future Kalos in the Alola games, with the Zygarde Cubes and all.
Getting new Mega's is problematic in a past setting, since in-lore they cannot explain why they weren't in XY, which means for a past setting, we can only get Mega's for mons that weren't in the Kalos dex in XY. While in future setting, they can explain it by saying they were recent discoveries in Lumiose City and they got discovered alongside the Zygarde Cubes and Cells.
@@nickdentoom1173 We don't know if it will be set in the past or future, but the past seems more likely. Not only is it more interesting as future settings are always bleack and boring, but it's pretty clear the story is that we re-develop Lumiose into the big city it is today, where people and Pokemon live in harmony.

I don't know, it feels too easy to just say "well snivy, litten, and piplup all have french connections already, so lets use them!" I feel we can do something more interesting then that.
How about instead, we do a connection for each of the starters through the arts, and have them be chicorita, popplio, and scorbunny. With each of them representing the blossoming culture of the french.
Maganium could become a grape vine, representing the food culture, and the importance of wine to the french culture. Primarina could be a circus seal, showing off the entertainment aspect of the french culture. And scorbunny could be a cyclist, representing the sports growth.
If there is one pokemon that needs new evolution (because weak pokemon and not being relavent/known well), is part of the kalosdex and would have a strong connection to the france/paris, my guess for that pokemon is....
Luvdisc. Since it is extremely weak pokemon, it really needs something for it to shine. Not only that but back in gen 6 when fairy was introduced, I was so surprised that the heart shaped fish pokemon that is connected to love didn't get fairy type. So this would be good change to make it evolve to water/fairy. And since legends za is based on lumious city aka the paris, the city of love, it would be perfect opportunity to give something to luvdisc. I don't think mega would work for it since it would feel weird to give it that but it's just my opinion.

Decent reasoning behind your choices, i do think i would be shocked if they didnt make mega aegislash though. Also i think klinklang could be the mon that fills the role your talking about for magnezone, since its not in scarvi.
I think the starter options are very likely the ones in the indigo disk trailer where three seemingly random starters are paired with the legends arceus starters. Torchic was the fire type there

Legends Z-A's starters are Torchic, Piplup, and Snivy. They were prominently featured next to Cyndaquil, Oshawott, and Rowlet respectively, the Legends Arceus starters, at the start of the first Indigo Disk trailer from August 2023.
The starters aren’t confirmed though.
Also blaziken already has a mega so things could get awkward there with how it will work with the other 2 starters.

The trio that fits the most, connected to French lore are Piplup and Snivy, alongside Scorbunny (Football and all).
The rooster is the national animal of France so my vote is on Blaziken. Also in the trailer for the indigo disk we see snivy, piplup, and torchic standing next to the 3 legends Arceus starters
Honestly I just want more Gen 5 content but since we got liligant and basculegion, and new Zoraork I doubt we are getting anything even with the only mega being audino lmao
I highly doubt that the new mix & match starters will have regional variants if they already have heavy ties to France, and since this game will have a big focus on mega evolutions it's more likely that they would receive those instead. Also, have you considered the possibility of Hoopa bringing the Kanto and Hoenn starters to Lumiose City? It's entirely possible since it can already bring legendary pokemon in ORAS.
Id like mega toxapex and mega walrein. I have no reasoning other than i like these two pokemon.
16:20 I disagree on excluding the form Pokémon - remember Flapple and Appletun hold the same Gigantamax form and they are two different Pokémon - not just forms. Same with Latios and Latias, having visually almost the same design.
They could make an universal Mega that focuses on the Base form Furfrou and it's untamable fur growth and have a visual effect for Vivillon (like giving it a rainbow/holo effect akin to Alolan Muk, that replaces the usual colours, but is exciting enough for people to not care).
If anything Pokémon like Gourgeist or Meowstic are an easy way of having multiple different working Pokémon at the cost of one Mega design.

Watchog has been so disrespected for so long. Poor guy hasn’t been on a single Switch game. He deserves a mega more than most.
One other thing is that they robbed gen 5 of getting any megas, besides audino. This, together with the fact that gen 5 got more attention in gen 8 and 9 (Stunfisk, Yamask, Bisharp and even Garbodor), makes me really hope we get some gen 5 megas!
It’s going to be Litten as the fire starter because of Le Chat Noir, a 19th century entertainment establishment. Probably leading to a more feminine evolution for the Incineroar. Either staying fire/dark or going Fire/Psychic or Fire/Fairy.

7:18 actually, Penguins ARE native to france. The term Penguin was the original name of the extinct creature we now refer to by another of its names, the Great Auk. Sailors who encountered the birds we now call penguins called them penguin (the name for the Great Auk at the time) because of the confusion caused by how similar they were in appearance to the Great Auk. The Great Auk's habitat spun across the north atlantic, including France and Spain!
(note: penguins and great auks are not actually related, just morphologically similar)

yes if the starters get megas torchic would have 2 mega forms, but there's 2 other pokemon that have 2 megas as well if I remember correctly it's just the two, arguably 3 if ralts' options are counted as having 2 megas, which also proves being a different final evolution doesn't mean it couldn't happen
plus blaziken ALREADY received special treatment as his mega was actually introduced in x and y unlike sceptile and swampert who had to wait until oras

I really really really hope that Delphox and chesnaught get SOMETHING. It really bothers me how unequally they were treated compared to graninja, it's super frustrating, since I really love delphox, and I know people love chesnaught.

if we're talking favorites... i know its unrealistic as hell, but i'd love to see Spinda get some attention, one of my absolute favorites, and it hasn't been in gen 9 and also because it has contrary as a hidden ability yet no moves that synergize with it and i would really like if it had an updated move pool

Hawlucha, Noivern and Talonflame as Megas would be cool since they are Ash Pokémon. I would say Mienshao tbh.
Lysandre has one and it's fitting for Dragon fist. Luxray due to Clemont. Part Fairy with Pixilate... basically a sphinx.
Heliolisk, Barbaracle, Trevenant & Malamar would be amazing, all from different Kalosian biomes, acting as Nobles.
Since Linoone got a variant and an evo I feel like Mightyena can get a Mega. There's a Ghost Tera Milotic in Kitakami.
Magcargo should get a Fire/Psychic lava lamp Mega or a Fire/Steel natural evolution with the Ability Earth Eater IMO.
Froslass deserves a Mega since Glalie got one in ORAS. Maybe Slowking too (or Cloyster). Rock gargoyle Druddigon.
New Pokemon/Megas
Meowth that's essentially a Sphynx and is quadrupedal (referencing its original appearence), that evolves into Persian which takes mile-divergence design queues from Purrserker except instead of a singular dagger made from its claws put together, they're more like sickle claws, it crouches down on 3 legs with a sickle-claw at the ready. it has a final evolution that's a pharoah and walks on 2 legs. Mega is a Sphinx.
Gurdurr evolving into a regional evolution Armaturr, instead of going from timber, steel girders and concrete, it gains rebar instead. maybe steel/fighting or rock/ground and steel, ability probably reduces damage from fighting and water-based moves.
Mega Pidgeot will survive, due to Gherkinn not realizing that the precious stone someone gave you in was the Pidgeotite. (yet someone in Devon identified a similar rock as one).
Druddigon gains a Bloodmoon Ursaluna-esque evolution/sidegrade that's basically a prehistoric Gargoyle, probably resurrects/ascends out of a hibernation cycle and blends dragonic energy with infinity radiation when Mega Stones was forcibly created.
Enamorus' is revealed to have a cylindrical growth cycle, physically regressing when passing old age, which isn't noticed due to the Reveal Glass either being salvaged war relics, or improperly repaired by whoever found it. maybe a older or younger form.
Bronzor having a Bloodmoon Ursaluna-type convergent deal with a new pokemon called Mirrim, which looks like Bronzor, but is based on silver-coated mirrors. (a Daguerreotype), maybe Psychic and either steel, ground or fairy type. or fairy/ghost, probably inspired by yokai or haunted mirror/photo phantoms.
Magearna will be firmly integrated into Kalos pokedex, except its origin is essentially an OOPart, even in-context. but is studied in the hope that the technology can be replicated, may hinge on if they ever decided to retire pokemon bank.
maybe finally, the Blue Core Zygarde. it'd be a plot point that the form it adopts *isn't* the 50% form. just more that the original 50% obscured the core, and something about mega evolution impacted it in some way. maybe zygarde is artificial too? it'd just be called a Zetazoea (Zee to A) it'd be antagonistic as a boss-only Pokemon, but becomes a naturalized Pokemon when linked with the Zygarde hivemind and gains Zeta Reversion. being an analogue to Primal Reversion.
my headcanon about ZA is that it's an anachronistically-shifted universe that got shunted up by Professors Sada/Turo mannifesting (read: "tearing") new realities into existance, their Time Machine technically "worked", but the crystals was essentially magical w/a vague but absolute understanding of what it should be, causing fantastical universes to be accessible. (though dangerous for organic beings, not counting Pokeballs). Colress probably gets roped into one of Chairman Rose's companies between SWSH and remained after the events of SV. he finishes the construction of one of his Colress Machines that enables intradimensional travel; without the (thankfully coincidental) flaw that it shifts locations and people out of the current dimension they're inhabiting. the game will take place in the mid-late 1800's, just with a higher degree of technology. Colress/Quasar will be seen as essentially gods for creating the first set of key stones. it'll become evident that this may have been a universe where the weapon either exploded, killing AZ, or backfiring after resurrecting Floette.
Colress would've been inspired by Devon's research on extracting infinity energy from pokemon remains, professor rowan's research on Pokemon emitting bioenergy when they evolve, and possibly the mechanics behind the Blinding One (indirectly creating the N-Lunar/Solarizers...how were they invented before the Dimensional Machine?, long before the ultra recon squad appeared/Mohn got missing?) and the Megalo Tower, he'll just attempt to retrofit the Prism Tower with similar tech as some kind of power source.
Isn't it kind of weird that Zygarde's core/cells are hexagons, but also Chairman Rose's beard Oleana's earrings, Jacq's glasses and Colress' eyes?. Jacq being part of Macro Cosmos might be thin, but he devised the Pokedex app for the Rotom Phone..a product that Macro Cosmos monopolized.
a late-game scenario involves Giovanni coming from the future of the current reality you're in, when it becomes evident that this Giovanni becomes the one who currently leads Rainbow Rocket. any anachronisms collapses within the game, causing you to escape to the present. leading to a new future of that universe leading to the events of LGPE and SM. probably tie in Celebi somehow. Giovanni will have 2 Mewtwo on hand but loses one of them. at some point, Colress manages to lose his research notes (the book he was carrying in BW2's intro. looks vaguely Alolan), which'd be vaguely alluded to have been dropped roughly 3k years in the past. making it a bootstrap paradox, rendered completely-legal by Arceus.

No, we aren't getting anything Pokemon mainline games related this year, else we would have known by now.
Something I believe in that I heard another UA-camr theorize is that we may get starters from different regions at the start of the game like in PLA, but a little later, we'll get the Kalos starters with their Mega stones the same way we got the Kanto starters with their Mega stones in X & Y
I really wish Spiritomb got a Mega. It’s been competitively bad since the introduction of Fairy Types. Make it break free from its keystone and put most of the mega base stats into its speed stat. I remember that Jynx was also one of the few megas that were cancelled back in X & Y. Think she should get one considering both Magmar & electabuzz have evolutions and pre evolutions where as Smoochum & Jynx don’t.

Love this video, over the years I’ve come to appreciate Pokémon in different ways, analyzing how connected Pokémon are to their respective regions, overall themes of each games story etc., and I feel Pokémon itself has grown with us, I mean just take a look at every game, and see how they all try new things. Scarlet and Violet were my favorite games in the franchise, going in almost 100% blind, I left the base game EXTREMELY satisfied, how dark the implications of the story were, how upfront it was with its themes, the characters feeling much more fleshed out, the overall Pokémon designs, and of course the music, just left me feeling refreshed, something I haven’t felt for Pokémon in too long. And of course, the DLC was amazing, telling the story of Momotaro and Urishamataro in such brilliant ways made me so excited. I was literally screaming when Kieran threw that masterball, masterfully done scene. And now we are here, on the cusp of returning to Kalos, and my mind hasn’t stopped racing. Thinking about they can revisit one of the most “Done Dirty” regions makes me so exhilarated. This video just makes me more and more excited, seeing what other people come up with is always so fun, and applying what Pokémon has been doing to what they could do with this game, makes for such interesting conversation. Going over Frances historical accomplishments and general significance is so much fun. Sorry for the ramble lol, just so excited about Pokémon’s future, and this vid just made me even more excited!

16:45 i think Pokémon with significantly different forms could have a single mega. Appletun and Flapple are wildly different designs but they have a unifying Gigantamax design, to a lesser extent this goes for mega Latias and Latios, and Gmax Alcremie. Very in depth video /gen
I think the best point you make, may be that they want to make the number of new pokemon/forms introduced be 151. They're pretty much unable to not reference Red and Blue at all times.

14:40, I liked the gen 4 starters lack of role. It made them feel like regular pokemon and I enjoyed that over the pedestal spot that starters are given.

A cool idea i made more concrete thanks to this video is regional Tapu's. They didn’t appear in SV like how the weather trio didn't appear in swsh, so i think they'll play a part in ZA. I think it'd be cool to make them all dual Rock-types based on gargoyles, and instead of a new member, they should all share a Mega that looks like their Z-move form

I think the fire type starter will likely be the torchic line since France is often characterized as a rooster in the same way that the US is often characterized as an eagle or England a lion. I do get the hesitation to include for already having a mega tho. Really solid prediction video overall, great work!

Yveltal and Xerneas not having megas is weird because team flare used them to power the laser that previously created megas. At least makes more sense to me than Mewtwo randomly getting TWO
I'd personally like the starters to be another combination of a Johto, Unova and Alola 'mon, so that no one from each set feels like they're getting more special treatment. I think Chikorita and Tepig especially deserve a new regional form.

For some reason, I really think Battle Bond would be the half main gimmick of Z-A that is an equal counterpart to Mega Evolution that is mostly exclusive to the player character and Kalos Pokemon as well as needing (*sigh*) Max Friendship, and a replacement form for BattleBond-Greninja, and yes BattleBond-Greninja, not Ash-Greninja because it is heavily tied to Ash and not to the general BattleBond trainer. Also that could maybe explain why we didn't get like any Kalos Mega as they had BattleBond, which was lost in Pre-Modern Day Kalos because all Pokemon that had the ability to access it all died, unable to teach it further. While Mega Stones emerge after the war for Pokemon of the other regions as there were probably more Pokemon from the other region that died as they didn't have any Power-ups.
TLDR: BattleBond may become a 2nd gimmick alongside Mega that is only for the Player and Kalos Pokemon. Ash-Greninja is gone to maybe create a more general form for BattleBond-Greninja that can apply to all trainers. BattleBond was lost for there was no way to learn it, and Megas appeared after, mostly all Megas are Other Region Pokemon probably because more of them died to the sheer Power of BattleBond Pokemon in Lore during the War.
