After Night Swim and Imaginery , im done with Blumhouse
@@Dark.RoomReviews I completely understand
Night Swim and Imaginary are in the running for worst of the year. Wonder what happened to Blum. Whatever it was, they got a bad case of it it seems. I'll try to check it out, but yeah, 75 mins is an insta-no-buy, now I'll just have see how bad it is lol. Perhaps I should thank Blum in the end though, at least they are alleviating and anxiety I may have about trying to find a top 10 worst of the year?...lol
@@HorrorMetalMaestroRedrusty66 They make it easy for sure. This one is a whole new low.
I’m excited for Speak No Evil because it’s rated R and that seems more like Blumhouse, not this PG 13 stuff aimed at teenagers. I’m glad I decided to sit this one out.
I hope it’s good. I really like the original. I hope it’s not watered down.
This movie definitely has flaws, especially in the second half when they start cramming things into the story, but I still found myself enjoying it. The wild ending was a cool wtf moment for me 😅
And I'm okay with it as a sci-fi movie instead of a horror. I noticed at least few movies this year that were either thrillers or sci-fi have been falsely advertised as horror for ticket sales and I wish Hollywood would stop doing that.
It definitely gives the wrong impression going into the movie. At least it wasn’t as bad for you as it was for me.
Yes. I loved the ending because it was one of the few movies where people realize... a sentient AI isn't going to be contained in a little box... it's in the freaking cloud man, which means by the time you realize that it's there, it's too late! LOL.
This looked like trash. Thanks for the confirmation not to waste my time!
@@DIHUpodcast It’s real awful. Watch anything else.
I'm sorry you didn't like it. I actually did enjoy it because it was one of the few AI films that actually addressed real aspects of AI and folded them into the story. They also built the story on how most people "think" AI works and what most people are afraid of regarding AI. Then, the fact that they actually took the time to think about how a sentient AI "could" operate based upon how AI are trained and operate in real environments made AIA actually much more realistic to me. STILL, it's just a story and that is NOT how AIs act at all. ... It's more like AI magic, but that makes sense since the story structure is actually based upon folklore and fairy tales, but updated for a tech savvy audience.
The production value was kind of low, which was disappointing and the jump cut scares were annoying. Still, I deeply appreciate an AI film that actually gets the tech as right as it can be in a fantastical story like this ... which is more than most films accomplish.
That’s a fair enough analysis.
Great Review my friend, Wow I never thought I’d see the day where I see Blumhouse fall off. It’s been a terrible year for them, I’m skipping this one.
That’s a wise choice for sure.
I dodged Nightswim and Imaginary.. unfortunately I sat through this.. What a waste of time FOR REAL
@@doublemintvariety Yeah at least it was short and not any longer.
This has like 2 showing times at my cinema late at night. Glad I didn't take the time to waste my night away. Blumhouse seem to be tarnishing the name with these garbage movies. It's like they should be releasing on Amazon prime. They'll be doing a sharknado horror movie soon.
It sure seems that way at the rate they are going. Definitely don’t waste your late night with this junk
Good review... Noooo... I had some hope for this film... I may still give it a watch... I agree Imaginary was terrible, too... Maybe the movie Subservience with Megan Fox will be better...
@@EmperiolReviews Time will tell. Proceed with caution for this one.
Just wait till that Megan Fox movie Subservience comes out on VOD in a couple of weeks…
(Or as I call it “Rule 34 M3GAN”😂)
@@DocZFlux I just heard about that one recently lol.
Yep. I saw this just a few hours back, and it’s appalling how shitty it is lmao. I still think Imaginary is on another tier of garbage, but i just find it funny how this film is about the DANGERS of AI and then proceeds to use AI in their film. Great Review - i fully agree. the ending is laughable, the writing is goofy.
@@HarCoolReviews Yeah imaginary is in the top of worst films as well. The effort here is so lazy.
I’m so sick of Blumhouse. I’ve probably told you that before lol.
@@darkhymnsfromthecoldnorth I hope Speak No Evil is their bounce back.
Blumhouse films that are PG-13 are almost always are going to be trash. Why anyone pays to see them baffles me.
@@HaveCheetahWillView I don’t technically pay for them is the good part. Love my amc membership lol.
Ew. Blumhouse has definitely earned its reputation. I wasn't going to see it because the last few were terrible, but I doubt I'll even catch it on streaming after your review. Good job!
@@SFTNReviews It’s an absolute mess.
Ouch! A real stinker😝. Thank you for your review. Hope you had a nice Labor Day.
@@mlowe7245 yeah it’s been a nice day off instead of working five days in a row.
I knew this movie would be trash because I saw so many trailers for it before it came out and now September 10, I’m pretty sure it’s losing a bunch of theaters! The trailer made this look like a very generic horror movie.
Was Abigail and Thanksgiving Blumhouse? Because I finally saw those ones and I really liked them 😊
Abigail is universal and Thanksgiving is Sony. I loved both of those movies. This is just awful. I can’t say to even bother wasting your time.
@@RavensOsFan89 I definitely won’t!!
Great review, i went to see it for myself last night and boy, it was terrible. Despite the short runtime the film seemed to drag on, there was a good cast but boy they were wasted on a really bad script and it was just a really crap story, i didn't care for a single character and don't even get me started on the dialogue, omg it was so bad.
And that ending, wtf??? Even thinking back on it, i still have no idea what even happened, it just made no sense whatsoever. When I do have my full thoughts up it's not going to be a very positive one, this might actually be the worst film I've seen all year
Yeah very low tier horror film. I agree with everything you said here in this comment.
Blumhouse have definitely been having a rough year so far and this one doesn’t help it. I do agree that the dialogue is bad and the ending was absolutely terrible. 😂
Yeah I really hope they dont screw up Speak No Evil
I laughed when I saw the trailer ... definitely looks like a cheaper version of Megan.
Doesn’t even hold a candle to that movie.
At least it’s better than The Mouse Trap 🤷🏾♀️. Great review.
@@LikeChattingWithAFriendReviews can’t say by much more lol.
i could of swore this or something similar came out already with AI but not surprised XD
@@theprodigiousspiderstarTM Yeah I think there is a movie with Megan. Fox that has something similar.
Dang! 😂😂 That's funny! Brutally honest! 😂
Never hold back lol
I quite liked it, although I recognise it's limitations. Streets ahead of Night Swim and Imaginery for me. I'd probably watch it again.
Didn't see the trailer, went in blind, and for a short movie on a Sunday evening, that required minimal investment it was ok.
Was a higher rated certificate here, need to be 15 to see it here, and it did have a couple of cheap jump scares. Different cut here in the uk maybe?
The awkward dialogue worked for me ... they were acting under duress, that tied into the unusual dialogue by the end. Not all of the story lined up properly tho.
Ive been watching Terminator films this weekend ... Ive been in a rogue AI zone for the last 48 hours. This didnt bring anything new, but it was OK for me.
My Insta review may give this 3 stars out of 5! Not 100% sure yet.
Yeah I remember the most brief jump scares but they were real quick. That’s great you didn’t mind it as much. Enjoy your terminator binge watching.
@RavensOsFan89 I should've added a disclaimer really ... before I had a cinema pass, these types of releases would be a hard pass, I'd never go see them. My least favourite genre (cheap horror stuff), so my expectations are super-low.
Somebody gotta pull blumhouse to the side and talk to them, because this is getting ridiculous 🤧
@@TJBillups It’s getting worse and worse with each release. I feel like I’m being punked at this point.
Damn glad we saw your review first. Think we’ll wait to see this one on streaming lol
@@Distantcritics It’s a disaster from start to finish. Proceed with caution.
I'm gonna wait for streaming for this one for sure. Trailer wasn't interesting. Blumhouse is really ripping people off.
1/2 STAR! Dang. I may just avoid it all together.
Yeah I really couldn’t stand it lol
I didn’t dislike this one as much as you, but it’s not good. Very generic and doesn’t even utilize the concept well. 2024 is not Blumhouse’s year…
@@foxnervig It’s definitely an off year. it’s like they hurried up and threw a few movies together for the year.
@@RavensOsFan89 well they needed to make some money so they could jam marketing for Speak No Evil down everyone’s throat
@@foxnervig I hope that one is good but, I’m worried it’ll be watered down.
Great review. I wasn’t impressed when I saw the trailer. I might watch when it comes to streaming, but I doubt it since I’m not hearing good things at all.
@@Boblovesmovies Normally I’m encouraging to go check something out but, this was awful.
@@RavensOsFan89 sometimes it’s just so bad you can’t even look the other way lol.
How it going today and how your day? I am not sure if I wanted to see this movie. So I come here to watch your content to see if it worth going. So far in the preview, it look like Megan all over again but with alarm system? Blumhouse been on a freefall lately with some of their movies?
@@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw Megan is way more fun then this dumpster fire. It’s real bad man.
@@RavensOsFan89 at least you have the amc membership or was it regal membership so you did not have to spend any money.
@@TennisReaperCinema-vp7bw amc membership.
could not agree more, a pAInful watch
It’s a whole new low.
@@RavensOsFan89 prob the worst I saw in a theater this year
