So are you having an issue with tension when you are trying to carry over blocks? I would recommend working up a small square and practice with a new color and carrying over multiple blocks. This should help you understand the mechanics of carrying over blocks - how tightly to pull, etc. Practice is going to make perfect with this technique - experience over time will help but by practicing on smaller items you can take that knowledge to your important projects. I hope that helps!
