    It's great but in the last version I can't find the paint in order to draw scattering area and furthermore I can't figure out how to use the effect layer "decrease with distance". I have tried to select an object and to set a distance (whose measure unit is not specified) but it looks like the density doesn't change at all. Could you please tell me how to solve these 2 issues? Thank you very much

    • @compassft
      @compassft 2 роки тому

      There is an issue with camera culling as well...if camera is shifted, the scattered object fall outside the shifted camera view. It seems the add-on keep the information of the original camera position and doesn't do math to consider the shifting. Thank you!

  • @jendabekCZ
    @jendabekCZ 3 роки тому +4

    How does it work on 20x20km terrain? Does it introduce some custom methods for the actual scattering or is it just a front-end for the existing Blender features (which are unusable for any larger projects)? Looking at the current scatter addons it seems like everybody is just creating YT demos with 30x30m terrain.

    • @alanplanes1111
      @alanplanes1111 3 роки тому

      It all depends on the assets you use, you can choose the lower poly assets to scatter or the higher poly. And I would use different systems based on how far they are from the camera. My experience is that it works great on close-ups, and scattering any element you'd like further away.

    • @jendabekCZ
      @jendabekCZ 3 роки тому

      @@alanplanes1111 That's not true, working with any large "emitter" makes everything extremely slow (try to Vertex / Weight Paint 1M mesh in 2.9x or 3.0 alpha), no matter of the assets.
      So populating any larger scenery is currently not possible with Blender, unless you are using some inconvenient workarounds.
