    It's a great feeling to put together those kinds of weeks, when one run after another feels effortless and easy while often paradoxically putting in quick pacing. Very confidence inspiring.

      Thank you for such a positive comment. It’s important to recognize the wins like this. :). Don’t overdo it, don’t overdo it, don’t…. :)

    Great Video! I'm blessed to be able to call Sedona my home. Every time I have a track session I say to myself how lucky I am to live here!

    That Grand Canyon run looked gorgeous but also pretty treacherous! Very nice track session at the end there too. Maybe I'll try to do a single all-out kilometer in my own Puma Nitro Elite 3's to see I can reach 3:06, but ten such fast reps is very impressive.

      @global-runner  Місяць тому +1

      That’s exactly right. Gorgeous but treacherous!!
      I was very happy with that one. But I definitely built into it. Not sure I could have done 3:06 on the first one!

    Awesome video! Great kms session, damn 3:06!

      Yes I was very happy with that session. I think as I get older I need a couple of super steady efforts to start. If I build into it, I run well. If I start too fast, I definitely don’t!! I think it gets worse with age. :)
      The 10th km being 3:06 was pretty good to see though!! :). (But also the grouping around 3:09 was equally good to see)

    Thank you for the incredible video! I did that route in the opposite direction last April and was also able to cross the river and go to Phantom ranch since both trails were open. I like the direction you took better going up S Kaibab instead of down cause it's so steep and really rough on the quads going down. Scenery is unbelievably beautiful and has to be witnessed in person to fully appreciate. Can't wait to go back! The weather was perfect for me and looks like you had good temps as well. Be very careful in the summer as it gets really hot and there are not many places to get water especially on S Kaibab.

      I had perfect weather I think. No snow, clear blue skies. Chilly but not cold at the start and only got to about 15C during the day.
      Yes I couldn’t go to phantom ranch but it gives me an excuse to go back. :)

    Epic Grand Canyon run! No such dry & barren spots here in Scandinavia😅. Have to head down to the Mediterrean countries for anything remotely close, but even down there it's pouring down!
    Did a 16.7 birthdayrun included 10K tempo/lowtreshhold today in sunny +10-11C wearing only shorts and a Stockholm marathon finisher t-shirt🤩. Just 30 days till Malaga marathon🤪.

    You 1km repeat times are incredible. I don't know how long your rest periods are, but i don't think I could even run just 1km that fast.

    My legs would be jello, not from the climb, but from simply looking over the edge. Intensity/volume distribution looks good, no need to chase the fitness.

    • @global-runner
      @global-runner  Місяць тому

      The wobbly legs from the climb make the fear of tripping absolutely real!!
      Thanks for the comment. I’m definitely happy with the early progress…!

    Very nice video. I'm curious to the purpose of the trip to Arizona. Was it just for a change in scenery and the experience?

    Great video, the grand canyon looks amazing and that taxi would've been an unusual experience. What do you think of the Puma Deviate Elite 3s? Ordered a pair but not tried them out yet

    • @global-runner
      @global-runner  Місяць тому +1

      I like them a lot. Especially the price - I got them on sale when I was in Montreal. I am not sure I would race in them but they are right up there with some of the best super shoes. And very light too

    • @alangray8952
      @alangray8952 Місяць тому

      @global-runner good to hear, I managed to get a pair for £180 on offer so picked them. Will try them out soon, even if they get used for a tune up race and workouts I'll be happy

    Do you have a coach? Any rec for coaching for 50+yo runners that want to go fast?

    • @global-runner
      @global-runner  Місяць тому

      Thank you! I don’t have a coach (I’ve been doing this long enough now I think!). :)
      Where are you based? You should probably look for a couch you can meet up with every now and then? Otherwise I’d just follow a training plan like the McMillan one. They are pretty good and do 90% of what a coach would do anyway. (Unless you want motivation in which case you need someone you can meet up with!)
