    My favorite polymer striker fired handgun, especially after installing a Cajun Gun Works performance package and HBI trigger. A Holosun 507C green dot and Night Fision optic height sights are just icing on the cake.

    I really do think you got a lemon on this one with its trigger problems. After watching all three videos I %100 agree that yours is stagey. I would say either send it to CZ or go to a gun store that has one and see if models that have are the same.

      It's not a lemon but depends what gen he got and it could be the trigger bar. I have the 1st gen with the ambi mag release and that trigger is beautiful and compared to my P10F, it's totally different and I also replace the trigger bar on the P10F but still not as good. I have added the HBi striker spring, 15 % reduce to the P10c but even prior to that it was still better.

    Pretty good vid! I've had a box stock P10C for years, it's one of my favorite handguns and carried frequently. I always thought of it as an improvement over the G19 and the main selling points to me were the trigger and ergos. Yours may have had some staging effect that got worked out. Excellent grouping, by the way.

    I have the exact same setup, and slow firing I can be very accurate. I also tried an IPSC match once with it, and I was grossly inconsistent. Some stages went pretty well, and some I completely bodged. Why, I don't know exactly, but I suspect inconsistent grip, and handling the trigger. I'm not big on dry fire, but perhaps I should give it a serious try, because in essence I just like this gun! I know that it's much better than me for sure:)

    If you intend to use the P10 as a range gun it's a keeper. For defense or carry I would do something about the trigger. You want total confidence for that, not hesitating to finesse the trigger. Remember Bill Jordan, " No second place winner."

  • @gregcampwriter

    My own experience with the P10C, limited to checking one out at the gun store, was that it's a Glock made in the Czech Republic--and that's not to disparage either. The striker-fired, polymer-framed design is good for what it offers.
    But the gun I bought was a CZ 75B. Yes, it's bigger and heavier. But that, combined with the grips, improves the subjective perception of the pistol for me while shooting it. It's not as easy to carry as the Glockenpolymers, but I can manage doing so, and that's worth the effort.
    Someday, I'll get a P10C or perhaps the F model just because I like what the company does. Since this is their first striker-fired product, I'm anticipating improvements as they gain knowledge in the type.

    The CZ P10 - what Glock could have been. Nice detailed follow-up, as I've come to expect from your channel. BTW, my P10S easily hit the 8" plate at 50 yards on my range, and it only took three shots to hit the 6" plate at 50 yards - with factory iron sights. I guess I need to do a follow-up video now that I have an optic on it.

    Well, that was fine shooting with the P10C (and, fwiw, I entirely agree with your points re mechanical offset and a slight upward adjustment to the red dot optic). We’ve all had experiences with some perfectly fine firearms that just are not ideal for a given INDIVIDUAL. For example, two Glock (plus many other I have shot) certainly fall into that category, BUT millions of people ardently believe in “Glock perfection.”
    So, I’d now not be concerned with buying a P10C, although there are many other “same category” autoloaders that I’d likely prefer. Its longer range accuracy really was (imho) quite impressive.

    Great job with this video Howard! I have a First Gen P10c (2018) and I liked It so much I bought a Second Gen P10c. The early versions of the P10c's had an Issue with the CAST Strikers Breaking Their Tips off (Check Out The Gun Penquins UA-cam Video) so I replaced both of my Strikers with Forged Steel Replacements from Cajun Gun Works! CZ had some Issues with some of the First Generation of the P10c! The triggers on both of my P10c's are amazing and I was surprised to see that you said you weren't to happy with the trigger pull on your sample. One of the selling points of this pistol Is It's smooth trigger press.. I'm curious If you just got a Lemon or did CZ modify the trigger design In order to address some other Issue? When CZ Introduced this pistol back In 2017 there were a host of problems. I spoke to David Milan who owns Cajun Gun Works a few years ago and he was very Informative and helpful. I would suggest you give the Boys at Cajun Gun Works a call and speak to them about your P10c!

    Howard, this was a good, informative video. I have an idea that would be an interesting follow up to this and some of your other recent videos. This would be to do a shooting comparison video of this gun vs your S&W Model 19 Carry Comp. Pick a series of time/accuracy scored drills, run both guns, and see what the scored show. Also review them for concealed carry potential.
    Another video I'd like to see you do would be to pick up a Hellcat Pro, and review that, especially vs this gun and your original Hellcat. My take on the Hellcat Pro is that it's a Glock 19 (and clones) put on a diet, making it smaller, thinner and lighter. I'd like to see what you'd think about it from a shooting perspective.

    • @hrfunk
      @hrfunk  2 роки тому

      Thank you. I was thinking about using the Carry Comp in a video comparing it to the Glock 19 (19 vs. 19). I’ll probably do something along those lines eventually.
      So far I’m kind of lukewarm to the Hellcat Pro. I’m not sure what it brings to the table that isn’t already covered by a lot of other pistols (I still love my original Hellcat, though). Stay tuned. I’m sure I’ll come up with something to interest you!

    • @bbmw9029
      @bbmw9029 2 роки тому

      @@hrfunk The Hellcat pro is definitely NOT a microcompact (al la the original Hellcat.) What it does bring to the game is some of that microcompact DNA into the standard compact (ie Glock 19) sized) class. If you want a three fingered grip, and a >3.5" barrel, but want the gun to be as small, thin and light as possible, it's right there. That's what I think makes it interesting.

      Thanks Pat, I appreciate your comment. It’s no problem whatsoever. I’ve heard/seen the other reviews too, and it’s possible those folks just got pistols with better triggers than I did. It’s also possible that they didn’t, but they were reluctant to be a lone voice criticizing a feature that so many others lauded. I got into this a little bit in my review of the P10C. I’ll try to state it a little more plainly here. As for the trigger .On mine the take up is very smooth, then you hit a wall like a 2 stage with a light let off. A vast improvement over the Glock triggers. As far as accuracy it is also superior to the Glock. I am still in the brake in stage on the p10c, but if it continues to be this good it will replace my g19 as my ccw. P.S. The great thing about firearms is there is a vast array of options from which to choose, what is a wonderful pistol for one maybe a terrible choice for someone else. That does not mean if it's a quality firearm, there is something wrong with the pistol, just doesn't do it for you. GLOCKS work and are reliable pistols I just don't like them, (closet hater because YEP I own one in a Gen 5 Model 19 9mm). Having watched a LOT of reviews of this pistol, and noting that they very much fall into line with the general comments on your videos, I agree with some of the other commenters who think you may have just acquired an example with a bad trigger. You're ten times the marksman that I am, so you can ignore what I say. Maybe there is a trigger kit out there for that pistol that can improve the feel to make it more like your other pistols. Then you wouldn't have to adjust simply for that one gun. Or you can simply adjust for that one gun! LOL. With one exception, I don't think I have two guns with the exact same trigger feel. The exceptions are my M&P340 and 43C from Smith&Wesson. My finger simply can't tell the difference on those triggers. The 43C is several oz lighter though. That means I do need to consciously remember that I need to grip it as if I'm shooting 38/357 loads rather than 22LR. 22LR is so light that it is easy to get lazy. 1st off I hate creepy triggers. I've modified my Glock 20's trigger, the 1st & 2nd Gen CZ P10C's triggers, my XD(M)'s trigger, my Kimber Micro 9's trigger, my Springfield 1911 10mm Ronin Elite's trigger, and both my P365 & P365XL's triggers (The Sig's are the worst of the bunch). I guess I've turned into a trigger snob. I have not had to change my Ruger SR9C's trigger or my Shield Plus's trigger as they are fantastic out of the box and no modifications were necessary. (Ruger should have put the SR9C's trigger in the MAX 9). I've had both the 1st Gen CZ P10 C & the 2nd Gen P10 C. The 1st Gen was creepy & I hated it. After breaking 2 striker firing pins I sent it in & they sent me back a 2nd Gen P10 C which didn't have any trigger creep. Thank you CZ! As it still had the trigger safety hang up, I reinstalled the HB Industries trigger which not only got rid of the hang up, but also is a more comfortable wider trigger. If HR Funk can't get rid of the trigger creep, I'd sell it. If CZ can't or won't do anything with the trigger, I'm wondering if a new striker assy. would fix the problem as it did with my Sig P365XL's trigger. (A very creepy trigger) My Shield Plus Performance Center 4" ported barrel has a fantastic trigger and matches my 2nd Gen CZ P10 C's trigger. Both have fantastic triggers which are directly comparable to the PPQ, PDP, & VP9. Haven't shot the Canek's but everyone raves about how it has the best trigger of the striker assy. market pistols.

Those two components can be installed in less than five minutes. I didn't care for the skinny factory trigger and dingus so I swapped it out for an HBI Theta trigger. I didn't even install the HBI trigger spring and still achieved a trigger pull of 3 1/4 - 3 1/2 lb pull with a short reset. My best and flattest shooting striker fired gun.
