I foresee an intermediate stage variant coming… A Starship, booster, and lander. The starship is 2 pieces. One piece stays in orbit as a Earth-Moon taxi. The lander (top 1/3 of starship) ferries moon surface-orbit trips. This makes sense after an established base exists. No need to land all that mass if it is not becoming a hab, right? The lander then stays in orbit until the next ferry comes.
Yes pal, read that properly.. there's an ex nasa guy, Zubrig? - the original 'Mars direct' concept. Think Elons listened to him earlier, Elons got the same basic plan. - but this guys now saying same as you.. no need to land, and relaunch, an entire starship on Mars. From a Starship in Mars orbit, launch a 'baby starship' lander. But that's just a half hearted, summer visit! Elons talking self sustaining - city - big mass to surface.
Booster 13 the one being used for flight 6 still has the v2 engines. The new version os starship will probably get them first. I wouldnt be suprised if they waited till the new version of booster before dropping in the v3 engines
At 8:25 the "nose to nose" dock looks to be the most efficient method also to transfer fuel. Especially since that docking maneuver has been fleshed out pretty well
Regarding the refueling: Why not add the tanker as a fuel tank for deep space missions .....combine the spacecraft to a bigger one in space...when it comes to landing somewhere...then they do separate again.
The gains made by doing that are more of a cheap fix for a for now problem. Elon has stated how much he dislikes the inefficiencies it adds and would much rather develop a larger (12,15,18m?) version of starship (currently 9m).
Why would they need to build a Flame Trench at Mcgraiger? They don’t test ships, or boosters, I mean they only fire one engine at a time. So I really doubt they will waste money on a Flame Trench when they absolutely don’t need one
If the starship heat shield isn’t safe for reentry of earth when it comes back from Mars, it should have shield tiles and equipment to attach the tiles as part of the cargo just in case they need to put a brand new heat shield on
Good night 😊.
And even better yet design, a spaceship, not necessarily huge, but medium size that could run on a rail gun set up we’re basically towards launch from space it would be shut off of the space station via electric rail gun and then when needed it could use fuel to burn to get its extra propulsion
Complex yes revolutionary no revolutionary would be if they had the mindset to instead of trying to build all these space crafts to refuel each each other just go ahead and build a space station that can hold fuel. Think about it is about to orbit in 2030 NASA needs a new space stationspace needs a refueling dock or Depot. I think that would be a win-win situation.
I wonder how many Russian and Chinese subs are in the indian ocean looking for engines.
🤣🤣🤣
They could learn from a recovered engine but not copy it. The critical process and materials information would be missing.
How deep can a sub go?
@@leverman7517 im sure they will fish it out with a ROV if they can find it first.
@@rwesenberg both can make rocket engines already, they just need to adapt the ideas not copy it directly. Just studying the materials would help.
Build a space station in low orbit around mars first, it would make the transition to the surface much easier.
Great video Kevin 👍
Appreciate it 🚀

Great suggestion but it will require many upgrades
At least for the first few mission they are likely to bring back significant lunar mass.

Thanks again for sharing this, Good morning SpaceX. May God bless SpaceX always with great achievements and great successes. Amen 🎉🎉❤❤
Thanks for your great comment. Have a nice day ☺️

👍👍👍
Excellent stuff bro, go Elon
♥️♥️♥️
Good morning
Have a good day 🤗

I would have thought nose to tail would be best. The rear one would thrust the pair to the fuel would be forced by inertia into the rear one.
Great video! Go SpaceX Go Elon!
🚀🚀🚀
That should provide data to address the obviously high temps during re-entry, the heat soak the engines endure, and the goal of rapid turnaround.
Go SpaceX Go 💪💪💪
Go go go
OK -------- . WHY NOT !!! GO SPACEX !!!
Launch, relight and land.
The successful formula
Regarding the refueling: Why not add the tanker as a fuel tank for deep space missions .....combine the spacecraft to a bigger one in space...when it comes to landing somewhere...then they do separate again.
Thanks for your comment
Launch, relight, achieve a stable orbit, deorbit burn, reenter, and if it succeeds the reentry, land on catch tower
I hope SpaceX makes a Starship Heavy with 3 or more boosters for launch similar to falcon Heavy

Yo Elon where's my sammach?😊
Why Not!
Yeah
🤔🤔 would have probably been easier to create a replaceable fuel cartridge to change out to refuel. Like an ink cartridge.

SpaceX really needs to recover the spacecraft for close inspection. How they accomplish that ...
They will do this after landing Ship by Mechazilla Arm
@colonbina1 Yah. That's the key reason for landing that way. The data that can be obtained through flight telemetry is usefulbut limited.
Alguém assistindo???🎉🎉🎉
Wy not?
Good night 😊.

where is the massive raptor test Click bait
The rapid relight of the raptor engine silly
