- How Strong Is Doomsday? Although not a classic DC character, Doomsday has gotten recognition time and time again for being an absolute monster. From defeating the Justice League multiple times, to seemingly killing off Superman, and being able to adapt to virtually any ability mid-battle, Doomsday has higher accolades than some other DC characters. So, this raises the question regarding his upper and average levels of power.
I go over many of the comic books from Post-Crisis and the New 52 to gauge his true power!

Draco Gatom removes his emotions, continuously clones him to fight in a dangerous terrain to survive, hence making him adapt to any conditions. Basically it just complements his character, it isn’t lazy writing, it’s sort of genius.

There's something you've gotta love about Doomsday: He's singular in purpose. You can't even criticize him not having many dimensions to his character... Doomsday is simply Doomsday. You know what he's going to try to do, you know how he's gonna try to do it and you know he's pretty much unstoppable.

@@upyourasteriod4494 I highly doubt it. Shadow can scale to Sonic and Infinite placing him around planet/star level. Doomsday has taken hits from far worse beings and kept on getting back up. Shadow would break himself if he tried to hit DD (or if DD ever hit him back.)
Granted, Super Shadow with chaos powers would be tougher to take on. Still, considering that Superman has broken out being frozen in time before Doomsday could probably break out of chaos control too. I'm not sure if he could outright copy Super Shadow's powers but he can learn to counter them. If nothing else he can just keep mauling Super Shadow (or keep yelling Maria) until he runs out of super form.
Strong enough for Superman not to hold back. Doomsday is whole another level than any Superman enemies beside darkseid

What makes Doomsday dangerous besides the fact many can't beat him, he can come back & the way you defeated him before won't work. He'll adapt and even copy abilities.

It depends on which version of superman being used. Some versions he'd be destroyed. Other versions he'd destroy.
This is why that Doomsday is my #1 favorite supervillain in DC

I still think he's so underrated. They really can't show just how unrelentlessly murderous he is. He doesn't fight to beat up anyone, he literally has to kill them. And I don't think animators can really show that to the degree that needs to be seen to really get that message across.
Eh, Darkseid (or at least the animated DCAU version) is my favorite, actually my favorite villain in all of fiction, simply because of how he can get under Superman's skin like he does.

The Batman himself once said that plastic man is the strongest hero in the room and can rival Supes himself. He got a few weakness like being exposed to extreme cold but yeah he's definitely much more than just plastic.

That Darkseid was definitely an Avatar, maybe the writer didn’t understand your question but that was definitely an avatar. We have seen true Darkseid and his power destroys reality around him, that means superman wouldn’t be able to survive in the presence of true Darkseid, hence it was simply an avatar.

Oh course it's an avatar. Pretty sure Darkseid doesn't even have a physical form to kill, just a conscience. All the copies or forms you see are not even him, but just puppets he creates and controls.
And his conscience or true form is in a higher dimension, so you can't even access it unless you are on his level or a god or something.
He's basically like Dr Manhattan who is also unkillable since his conscience is in another dimension as well.

There's a misconception. The physical forms of Darkseid in every universe are called emmations. Avatars are the copies of those emnations.
Every universe has it's own Apololips and New Genesis, but the true planets are in the God sphere. Which is why sometimes, Apokolips and New Genesis seem to be in deep space somewhere bc they're emmations of the actual planets. And so are that universe's Highfather and Darkseid.

Doomsday is my favorite villain in all of comic book lore. He doesn’t build weapons, he doesn’t think of traps, he doesn’t plan ahead. He just goes straight for the kill and doesn’t care how it has to end but either you go or he does. That’s much of the reason it’s hard to make a plot around him cause he’s not just gonna walk away of something doesn’t go his way and come back later like most villains. Very much the reason the BvS surprise villain was complete bullshit. You can’t add details to him and expect things to come off right. You could only play out his origin to make him a fully fleshed out character.

I always liked Dooms Day typically you get strong villains vs smart heroes or the opposite, smart villains vs strong heroes. The ladder is typically in effect for Superman. Having someone like Doomsday who is all bronze go up against Superman is always fun to listen about.

Comic books tend to be inconsistent, so people have different scaling systems to rank them. Chuck and other youtubers look at both low ends and high ends of character's feats/power levels, while VS battles wiki tries to find a middle ground for both ends. I personally tend more towards Chuck's methods. VS battles wiki has many problems, but it's far from the worst. Try Comicvine or the who would win subreddit, they have no consistency, ranking systems and use head cannons as proof for their arguments.

It depends, Doomsday can adapt to any type of attack provided his physiology allows him to do so and in the case of magic it would depend on whether or not it was a type of "energy" he could absorb or whether his bone potrusions would simply block such attacks. In regards to ghosts we've seen Doomsday adapt to Martian Manhunter's phasing and being possessed several times and I'm fairly certain it ghosts wouldn't be able to do much unless they could drag him to hell or something like that but even then I'd imagine he'd simply massacre the undead.

@@akagetobimaru1994 The strongest cartoon version of Superman is probably star level+ (Superman vs The Elite movie )which means he would be around final form Frieza and SSJ Goku levels. But comic book characters always get nerfed in animated cartoons and live action movies. Most comic book versions are stronger than even current Goku and atleast 2 of them solo the entire dragonball. Plus i don't see how comic books beeing written by many aurthors changes anything. If we are talking about Superman's most powerfull version then he solos. Animated and movie Superman probably doesn't get past android 18(android saga).

Superman did really die in the comics and came back to life. They even show how they had to bring his soul back to Earth and Panthom Stranger later confirmed that he was effectively dead. The "he was in a coma" thing is from the animated movies that didn't want to deal with convulted stuff and just simplified it.
I think it could be possible that Doomsday might be the most powerful being in comic book history!

@@nikcantsnipe exactly if you gave him the ability to process toxins faster (i.e. cant get drunk because he process the alcohol to fast) he would be on par with captain America i stead of slightly below, and although we know cap is "peak human" we still call him super human both him and bats have very similar feats and recoveries.
