Greetings from 5 years after posting this video! Recently (and against all odds) Fate/Stay Night FINALLY got an official English language release. I plan on updating this guide accordingly, hopefully soon. In the meantime, I'll leave this guide up, just know that since it's been posted Fate/Stay Night has been made officially available in English.
Please don't call the "Fate" route the "Stay Night" route in the updated version of the guide because it gives me immense psychic damage every time anyone refers to it as that. Please...

@@jewelyJewels The problem is you're being advertised a sundae and you're given one bowl of what looks like whip cream. One is something you take your time on and appreciate the layers of texture and flavor, while the other is something you can literally just put in a bottle and spray straight into your mouth. You can either complain that you're given what looks like just whip cream and be told that there's a sundae underneath, or you accept that you are eating just that, a bowl of whip cream, start eating it without ever getting any of the sundae until you're close to out of whip cream, losing one layer of flavor of the sundae. At that point, you could continue eating the sundae with less or none of the whip cream, in your mind thinking "All the stuff I ate earlier would've tasted better if I had scooped up some of the sundae and not just the whip cream." Respectfully, if we're still doing this Fate is a sundae with meters of whip cream metaphor, accepting that you're just going to dig into this bowl of what looks like whip cream is accepting that you don't know exactly what's going on but it's entertaining enough to keep your attention, which is fine, but it is muuuuch more satisfying when you have background knowledge.
Here is how I got into Fate. I saw a picture of Archer, thought he was hot af, saved the picture, reversed image searched it, and the rest was history. You could say... that my *Fate* was sealed.
@@darkarsv I recommend NA Server. Even though it's two years behind, you can save a lot of Quartz and summon on 2 years worth of clairvoyance on the gachas you want to summon. Not to mention that you can actually read the story without looking up a guide on moon runes.
I actually started the series with carnival phantasm. I had no idea what was going on but I knew I loved it. Then I saw ubw heavens feel and I’m on Zero rn.... my heart hurts
@@Revealingstorm. I started the fate route vn but it’s pretty much a retread of ubw so far imma try to just skim through to the important parts bc I heard deen is really bad. If it’s accurate to the vn tho I’ll give it a watch. Would you recommend it?
@@nadirabdulle2073 im a bit of a vn purist so ill always recommend going through each route in order lol. I used the realta nua ultimate edition while reading the VN so it let me skip scenes that I had already gone through before but I guess that's a mute point if it's the fate route you're mostly already familiar with because of the others...
It’s that there are more spoilers in the first 2 episode of Fate/zero then the whole of Deen/SN (Deen really only has 2 spoilers / 1 from UBW & 1 from HF, Zero has like 6-8 spoilers)
Ark Zeum No, I disagree hard on that. SPOILERS: - Rin and Sakura being sisters, which changes their dynamic from up to that point and sets things in perspective. - Angra Mainyu. Basically, we find out that the Holy Grail is corrupt and evil and we don’t find that out til the penultimate day of Heaven’s Feel. - Sakura’s past. This is the big one. Sakura is intentionally left out of the other two routes past the halfway point as a way for the reader to wave her off as an insignificant character. One that doesn’t really play much of a role. It also hides her true nature, her trauma and abuse. It also hides that it’s not just Shinji that’s a piece of shit, hell he’s not even the worst of the bunch. The entire Matou/Makiri bloodline with a few key individuals is full of scummy people. The reveal of Sakura past in HF is meant to throw the reader for a loop. All this surprise is gone within only first episode of Zero.
jesus christ how is it hard to understand to watch heavens feel before Zero. Zero litterly spoils the entrie plot. Just go Ubw > Heavens feel > zero tahts it
lop90ful1 I’d personally add 2006 at the very start, since it’s currently the only Fate route adaptation. The additions from UBW in there aren’t even spoilery (we get the Shirou and Rin chase in the school, and Caster and Kuzuki get a bit of their story from UBW told), and there aren’t even really HF spoilers as much as there are small elements taken from it. That said, replace the 2006 anime with a Fate remake if it ever happens.
One problem with starting with Zero: It'll shape people's perspectives of what Fate should be and likely lessen their enjoyment of Stay Night. A common argument I see is that Shirou is an immature, naive idiot and that Kiritsugu is cooler and smarter. Because anime can't adapt the protagonist's narrative voice, a lot of Shirou's characterization and development get shafted.
@@kiratarantino5895 Okay, but my next question is did you read the VN? Because nearly everyone I've spoken to that started with the source material agrees that Shirou is an incredibly complex and nuanced character.
@@omeganappie People who start with Deen stay night would likely get a bad impression..even though a minority like myself would not. I agree..the fact that he called it "stay night" makes me think that he is indeed talking about 2006 rather than the VN.
@@wackyname6445 what's stupid about it was that despite urobucher having his own views on the story and such, him and nasu and takeuchi have an extremely close bond and respect each other. That's why Nasu wanted Urobuchi on the Zero light novel to begin with, cause he thought he could do a tragic setting very well. What most people miss is that Nasu wrote most of the plot, character details and such of Zero, Urobuchi only put it together in a novel. according to him, his biggest ideas contribution was the character of Waver(although his future el melloi 2 self was already created by Nasu) and his relation with Rider. So technically, most of the praise should be split between them if that. And even then...most people who do this song and dance are talking about the 2011 ufotable anime adaption and not the light novel Urobuchi wrote..so..who do you credit then? The directors? the script writers? Or should the logical thing happen and hero worship like "urobuchi is the only good thing about fate or type moon" die in its bed :P
@@lpfan4491 As someone who started with Fate zero and though of it as kinda mediocre, and then watched unlimited blade works and was like "this sucks". But then I wached the first heavens feel movie and that was the stuff tbh. Still have to watch all of heavens feel movies but even tho watching fate zero and unlimited blade works was kinda of a chore, the benefit is actually having a good foundation for the other "not so crappy" stuff. But yet again this is from the pov of a beginner in the fate franchise lol.
@@bamshablam5977 It depends on personal preference. I really enjoyed Zero and didn't start to dislike UBW until the second half. I don't really plan on watching heavens feel tho, because I am just not really feeling it. I already got megaspoiled and the story just isn't really my thing.
Benjamín M Ok, so here are some of my many complaints about Fate/Stay Night. Now, let me clarify: I read the Original Visual Novel before going into Fate/Zero. And yes, I finished all the Routes. That does not in any way change my opinion. Nasu has a horribly obtuse writing style. Nasu’s writing makes George Lucas’ look like Citizen Kane. I personally consider Kinoko Nasu the Japanese George Lucas too. So I find this pretty funny all things considered. Nasu’s writing style makes me want to kill myself. I hated almost every moment of it. It bored me to tears. Seriously, I hate HATE *HATE* his writing. Purple prose everywhere, takes to long to get to the point (he takes entire pages giving exposition that could’ve been explained in just a few sentences) and much more. - Combined with unnecessary shit like the cooking scenes (which drag on forever and slow down the pacing combined with the sheer amount of them). Add the exposition dumps that could’ve just been a few lines instead of entire paragraphs at best, pages at worst. - A protagonist that I couldn’t really relate to combined with Nasu’s obtuse writing making him look even WORSE. Yes, I’m not a very big fan of Shirou. He was a pain in the ass through a lot of the Visual Novel. And I found him annoying a lot of the time. I contribute a lot of it to the voice he was given. - Characters that are either: A, likeable but have very little screentime (Gilgamesh, Lancer, Kirei, Issei) or either suffer from exposition dump disease (Rin/Kirei/Archer *Kinda*). B, Likeable and interesting but rather underdeveloped (Saber, False & True Assassin). C, Average or meh (Most of the remaining cast). D, Incredibly unlikeable or badly written (The rest). - Over the top melodrama, ESPECIALLY HEAVEN’S FEEL. - Shitty love interest (Sakura), or just lack of chemistry (Saber and a bit for Rin). - Pacing issues. - Other shit I forgot. And it’s not like it’s all bad, there is good stuff in there, but the bad shit just dominates it. It’s pretty ironic, as Nasu was the one who came up with Fate/Zero’s story in the first place (Urobuchi had 90% of the ideas that Nasu had). Which just shows that Nasu’s ideas aren’t bad, it’s just that they are a very shitty writer. Not really a surprise. Ideas =/= Writing.
@@lazex58 fate was originally a hentai visual novel & no I'm not joking, u can search it up. then came the VN then the anime, games etc. since that was the very 1st ppl like to joke abt it relating fate with hentai lol
@@roxas4587 Calling FSN a Hentai VN is just wrong. It has like two 15 minute long sex scenes per 30+ hour route, so less than 2 % of it consisted of sex scenes. Do you call movies with a short sex scene in them porn too? The term "Eroge" is misleading in general tbh. Most of the VNs people call Eroge barely have any sex in them. The actual Hentai VNs focused on sex are "Nukige". Plus the latter Realta Nua version of the VN removed all the sex scenes anyway and replaced them with different scenes.
@@viviorunitia7039 Yeah you would. Even at 2% sex is sex and that makes it porn. I don't see where you're getting this oddly specific definition of hentai. Hentai just means porn. Scale/how much of it is porn doesn't change anything. Sex is still sex my dude.
@@sealeddragon286 I mean comparatively if a movie was 99% drama and mystery and then it has a 2 minute action scene at the end, is it an action movie? No, literally isn't. It's a drama movie that contains action, just like Stay Night is basically a drama that contains porn.
Personally i think that while zero can work as a starting point, having the context from stay night and knowing the ending provides a layer of tragedy and dramatic irony to the whole thing that really helps because zero really is a tragedy and that perspective enhances the experience
I love that the moment you say "This is my guide to getting started in Fate", Kotomine is saying "Rejoice, boy. Your wish will, at last, come true". Even the context makes sense.

@@voilavoila196I want to be that friend but "It's too long" "Visual novels aren't for me" "Visual novels are boring" (While they haven't touched one in their entire life)
The Réalta Nua version is also perfectly fine start, and as someone who did go through the PC version, removing the sex scenes is a marked improvement!
I guess one addition I'd give is that in the Visual Novel, the order of "Stay Night" --> "Unlimited Blade Words" --> "Heaven's Feel" is not so much recommended as it is the only option. When you start, the only available route is the "Stay Night" route. Once you finish that, the "Unlimited Blade Words" route become available to go down. And once you finish that, then the final "Heaven's Feel" route opens up. The routes are structured in a way that, while there are some repeating elements, each proceeding one builds up upon what the previous one set down. The only way you can go out of order is if you went in with an already completed system save file. Which you wouldn't want to do anyway as it more or less skips the prologue. But yeah, I'm one of those lucky people who got into the series back before there were so many different options. It was literally just the Deen anime adaptation unless you could read Japanese for the VN. As much as people rail on it nowadays, I think it was a pretty good start. It's very much a product of its time though, down to how one "main" route is prioritized with elements of the others thrown in as well. Super typical method of VN adaptation at the time. So yeah, from there, I mostly picked up stuff as they came out, minus some things like the Light Novels. Overall, it's a delightful series and definitely one of my favorites but it's clearly not without its issues, especially with the spin-offs. The "Extra" timeline remains an enjoyable but incredibly frustrating experience in how not a single entry directly leads into another entry despite many of them acting like they did, not to mention the anime for it sucked. And then there's "Grand Order", the only entry in the series I actively hate...yet is the most popular one and is now the face of the series.
i know this is a 4 year old comment but genuinely thank you for that first part, i've been kind of worrying before going into it that i might need some kind of guide to play them in the right order this is great to know

i thank you for the wonderful ice cream analogy kennedy absolutely wonderful visual my fav being you chuging sprinkles of course a amazing guide video kennedy as always all your vids are top notch stuff thank ya for all yo work
TLDR: OFUtable only, and in chronological order not release order. This is the wya I did it, and it is class. I for one enjoyed the stay night series. Didn't have prior knowledge to bother me, and seeing the "spoilers" felt more like easter egg tie-ins when I got to UBL. I recommend doing the same if you don't mind "classic" animation.
I just wanted to add in a few extra things to this guide for people who consider themselves men of culture. Once you finish with all of Stay Night, you can choose to read Tsukihime, another of Nasu’s visual novels. There’s also Kagetsu Touya, a sequel similar to FHA for Tsukihime. After that you can watch Kara no Kyoukai, a series of films by ufotable adapted from a light novel by Nasu. After that you have Carnival Phantasm, a comedic masterpiece. Then you can go to things like Mahoutsukai no Yoru if you know either French or Japanese (no English translations). Finally if you want to make me happy, read Tsuki no Sango. There’s a short story form (would recommend) and a manga form. It was written by Nasu for Maaya Sakamoto’s recital or something. It would make me happy if more people read it
I started out with DEEN FSN and it came out when I was in 6th grade. I read the VN in 9th grade and saw Fate/Zero and UBW movie in 11th grade. So I loved the Fate Series when I was a kid. But grew out of it by the time I was in college. And then the moment I grew out of it it became so huge. I’m still in shock about it. To me it was just this thing I liked as a child...
The correct answer is that the place to start is reading the Fate/Stay Night Visual Novel. Fate/Stay Night is a story that primarily takes place inside the protagonists head, it cannot be properly adapted into an anime and you are doing yourself and the series a disservice if you choose to watch the animes first instead. Fate was never properly adapted, UBW is decent but lackluster overall and while I am waiting for the third movie to watch Heaven's feel I am pretty confident my opinion won't change after watching it.
My friend who is obsessed with Fate begged me to at least watch UBW but that I HAD to watch episode 0 which I could only find in English, anyway I watched episode 0 and was intrigued and then binged the rest of the show with him on discord call with me gleefully laughing at all my reactions and out loud theories. I am now playing the game, just finished Fates route no knowing this route was ‘you know who’s real life route (until bout day 14) and now I feel even worse for him.
fate route, defenitely anime other route: well you can watch anime, still HF is lacking so many contents in anime all other type moon works..: go read the hell out it
@@wayfarer_exe Except Star Wars best way is release order too, in fact Star Wars is always helpful to explain the "order" of Fate to people familiar with it
Ian MEER Do you mean the release order of the VN’s or the release order of the anime, because I’m watching it in the order ufotable produced the anime so Fate/Zero first
Sorry but I have to say it, I'm in the 5% part of who started Fate franchise with Fate Stay Night by Deen and absolutely adored it, still today is my favourite of them all, just heart over brain
Old comment but I fully agree, the 2006 stay night has a lot of flaws but if you're patient with poor writing decisions and give it a chance it's a great way to start (so long as you skip the weird caster arc). UBW is greatly diminished by not having the Fate route to properly introduce everyone's character, so it has the unenviable task of establishing who Emiya Shirou is while also deconstructing him in a way the narrative was not built to support.
I simply have watched all anime, in the order they came out, ignored all other Fate material, and I'm pretty happy. I keep watching every new Fate anime that comes up and have 0 complaints.
You start with the Tsukihime Visual Novel, like a true Type-Moon fan. Starting with the Kara no Kyoukai light novels will be accepted as an alternate starting point.
After watching this video, I decided to actually track down a copy of the visual novel and play it for myself. And I'm glad I did because it's one of the best visual novels I've ever played (incredibly cringey h-scenes aside), so thanks for that. And yes, Artoria is indeed best girl.
I started at Deen/Stay Night and tried to get through the visual novel but never finished it due to the immense size of the story. They did some clever animations with the character sprites, though. Like when one of Rin Tohsaka's more timid classmates approaches her said classmate's sprite doesn't just slide or fade into the scene like you would expect. The sprite actually tiptoes into the scene. No other VN I had ever played before had ever done that so it really took me by surprise.
For those interested in Fateverse, also if possible do watch/play Kara no Kyoukai and Tsukihime. The two latter give some insight and explain some crucial world building aspects that while exists in Fateverse, aren't explained really proper in it.
For me, Deen/Stay Night was what got me into Fate. I loved it, and that made me marathon just about any other Fate thing they had, except Prisma Illya, since that wasn't anything like the other Fate stuff I had watched at the time. After a a few years, I got to watching it, and had a lot of fun with it. My personal order of the main series went like this: FSN 2006, UBW movie, Fate/Prototype, Fate/Zero (Einzbern Counseling Room goes along with this), UBW TV, and lastly, the Heaven's Feel moves.
God damn, finally an explanation video doesn't make me go "no no no no no STOP!" loved the analogy and I also agree with your assessment of the anime only watch order. Will be my go to video to link when someone inevitably asks where to start because honestly, that question is just more effort than it's worth sometimes.
You know, I never really thought about starting Fate, but here I am, listening to your videos while working on a Fire Emblem Ike commission and now Fate is on the top of my list lol
Nice to someone else say that F/Z is the best starting point for someone who intends to be anime-only. Some people seem ready to rip my head for suggesting such a thing. Even though I started the series with the VN, I've had people accuse me of lying about that and being a fake fan. It's ridiculous. Obviously, the VN is overall the best starting point, not everyone is able or willing to do that. But some Fate fans will take it as a personal insult if you don't strictly adhere to their specific order.
keybladesrus If ufotable ever do a proper adaptation of the Fate route, then that would be the best possible starting point for anime-only watchers. Until then, yes, Fate / Zero is the best place to start.
Oh Sweet god, someone else who actually knows the VNs exists...and recommends them over the animes! Is this Heaven?! Joking aside though, I would say this is a very solid list of how to start things even for those who wish to rob themselves of entertainment by just watching the animes, just my opinion. I think the only thing I'd say is be a little iffy with the El-Melloi II Case File Adaptation as my understanding its Adapting the 4th story of the series instead of starting at the first.....for some reason. So not sure how they'll handle explaining characters and relationships, but could be another case of they expect you to know them already. Similar to their idea of Adapting Camelot and Babylonia from FGO, skipping the previous main stories that came before them.
@@soarel325 That still feels really dumb in my opinion, like why not just Adapt the the whole series? That way we can get properly introduced to all the characters, their quirks, etc. instead of being thrust into something on going with a "Good luck, Hope you read the Novels".
Fate Grand Order is the best game to start with. It makes it easier to learn about Servant classes and help you get familliar with characters that appear in other fate games and anime
My issue with the Stay/night animes, is that they don't adapt Shirou all that well. In the Visual Novel, Shirou is actually a really strong protagonist. But the anime kinda ruins it. Also, imo when it comes to the anime I do not recommend watching Fate/Zero first. I say start with either DEENS/Stay Night or UBW. Fate Zero spoils quite a bit which happens in Heavens Feel, however, since Heavens Feel hasn't finished its run yet, it would probably be fine to watch Fate/zero first. So, I do sort of agree with your points.
Both my friend and I started with Zero, since we assumed chronological order was a good way to go. I think it’s honestly fine as a starting point, at least in terms of capturing interest.
I'd go for the simple route and start at the original Visual Novel. It's a door-stopper and a half admitably, but it's definitely worth it if you have the time and patience.
.....I don't know the "Fate" "Series"....but I'm starting with the Abridged. I was just looking to see what the black-haired teen originally used as a command on the Archer dude!
Loved that sundae analogy. I'm one of *those* people who really like Zero but are disinterested in pretty much everything else in the franchise. You're right about the cooking show though, it's super cute, and I'll eventually watch the Heavens Feel movies for the spectacle, but overall I haven't been invested in Stay Night characters - certainly not enough to read the VN. I definitely need to check out El Melloi Case Files - I have a huge soft spot for Team Rider, and adult Waver solving mysteries sounds like a fun time.
No. Don't do that! For your own sake, do not watch Heavens Feel! If you've already watched HF1, heed my advice, and call it quits before it's too late.
I remember watching the Fate Stay Night anime because, I was google searching for Anime Female Knights for drawing reference in my Freshmen years of high school in 2008. I remember seeing Artoria's picture in the search results and I fell in love with her design the moment I saw her and I knew I had to draw her. I even saw her Alter form in one of the related images and I fell in love with that as well. I didn't know she came from fate stay night until I showed my drawing of her to my high school anime friends and they told me to go watch the Fate Stay Knight anime, Rin and Artoria were my Fate waifus back in my High school days. I haven't touch the fate series for awhile after I finished watching Fate Zero, I didn't touch the series again until I played the mobile game Fate Grand Order and it rejuvenated my love for series again, Mashu is becoming my favorite fate character so far..
I just love the irony and the idea that I can introduce or explain the fate series to someone. Maybe I'll make a usb drive with a PowerPoint explaining the fate franchise
Fate zero is written assuming that people are aware of the Fate Route’s events at minimum. You should not watch it first. Deen stay night or ufotable’s UBW are both better starting points.
Hard disagree, I started with Zero, and it instantly became one of my all time favorite anime. UBW literally spoils the ending of Zero, and had I started with that, I wouldn't have enjoyed Zero nearly as much as I did going into it knowing absolutely nothing. I can't speak for heavens feel, as I haven't watched it yet (waiting for the 3rd movie to come out, next year I believe)
Woodsie89 >UBW spoils the ending of zero That’s... The point? From a storytelling perspective, you are not meant to go into zero blind, you are meant to go into it already knowing that it ends as a tragedy. That the story of the fourth grail war is a foregone conclusion is meant to be known and understood before you actually bear witness to it.
That may have been how it was originally told, as the story of Stay Night was created first, but I think Zero is a far better story if you go into it knowing nothing. Just because it was "meant" to be that way, doesn't make it better.
Fate/Stay Night TV Reproduction is a recap of Deen Stay Night that removes most of the spoilers. Sadly it also removes much more than that and can be much harder to follow, especially for a new comer.
Started with Fate Zero a year or so after it came out, which is perfect since it gave me context for UBW but was long enough ago that the spoilers for Heaven's Feel won't effect me
I started with Prisma Illya, and moved into Grand Order thanks to the Crossover Collab event between the two. And now, I've been stuck in Gacha hell for two years...
Yes. It's that simple. This is entertainment, not a thesis that you required to finish. Give the VN a try. 15mn in and you get bored? That's absolutely fine. Leave it and move on.

Respectfully, if we're still doing this Fate is a sundae with meters of whip cream metaphor, accepting that you're just going to dig into this bowl of what looks like whip cream is accepting that you don't know exactly what's going on but it's entertaining enough to keep your attention, which is fine, but it is muuuuch more satisfying when you have background knowledge.

“Don’t watch Deen/Stay night, there are spoilers for heaven’s feel in there. Instead watch Fate zero, it has heaven’s feel spoilers in it”
...really
But the Heaven's Feel spoilers in Zero aren't even that big or really even matter.
SPOILERS:
- Rin and Sakura being sisters, which changes their dynamic from up to that point and sets things in perspective.
I started with Stay Night and still think Shirou is immature and bland compare to Kiritsugu. Fate Zero is superior no matter where you start
@@kiratarantino5895 Okay, but my next question is did you read the VN? Because nearly everyone I've spoken to that started with the source material agrees that Shirou is an incredibly complex and nuanced character.

No, Fate/Zero. As someone who read Fate/Stay Night and absolutely hated it, Fate/Zero is by far the way to go.
@@theatheistbear3117 but why tho?
Benjamín M Why I hated Fate/Stay Night?
@@theatheistbear3117 yes
This...is gonna be a huge undertaking, but it looks like I'm getting into Fate thanks to this helpful guide!

Joking aside though, I would say this is a very solid list of how to start things even for those who wish to rob themselves of entertainment by just watching the animes, just my opinion. So not sure how they'll handle explaining characters and relationships, but could be another case of they expect you to know them already. Similar to their idea of Adapting Camelot and Babylonia from FGO, skipping the previous main stories that came before them.
It's adapting the 3rd story, not the 4th -- though the 3rd story starts in the 4th volume.
@@soarel325 Ah thank you for that, must have confused the two. Though it still begs the question of why not just start at the beginning.
@@TheInhumanBeatdown According to Sanda, because he felt the 1st is "too short to adapt" (?????) and because the 2nd would be better as a movie.
@@soarel325 That still feels really dumb in my opinion, like why not just Adapt the the whole series? That way we can get properly introduced to all the characters, their quirks, etc. instead of being thrust into something on going with a "Good luck, Hope you read the Novels".
@@TheInhumanBeatdown Agreed
Idk why I’m watching this I already seen everything
Fate Grand Order is the best game to start with. It makes it easier to learn about Servant classes and help you get familliar with characters that appear in other fate games and anime
But it spoils a lot of stuff and makes a lot of references
@@pablo9234 it doesn't spoil anything the stories are not connected to the anything. Also the refrences are okay
@@taotwinkleamv257 it spoils who is emiya to begin with...
@@pablo9234 when?
@@taotwinkleamv257 as soon as you get him. with his name, if you see stay night, you'll imediatly guess who he is
I dedicated myself to make sense of evangelion now I gotta try to understand this. Epic
@@GoldLight73 bruh read the vn
@@dualia-s74m Yeah I'm fine without all the awkward hentai scenes, thanks.
@@GoldLight73 there is a version without then
Angry Mango having corrupted the Grail isn't really a spoiler.
I'd go for the simple route and start at the original Visual Novel. It's a door-stopper and a half admitably, but it's definitely worth it if you have the time and patience.
Simple answer... Watch Gigguk's exposition on the Fate-verse XD
Hehe... "simple"
@@uwc. just read the FUCKING VISUAL NOVEL
.....I don't know the "Fate" "Series"....but I'm starting with the Abridged. I was just looking to see what the black-haired teen originally used as a command on the Archer dude!
I don't know why but the sprinkles eating scene made me laugh way harder than it's supposed to.
I started by drunkenly watching season 4 of Fate/Kaleid Liner for the meme.
I have no regrets.
Hehehe I feel you.
Thank you for not suggesting Zero as the first one
I thought the monogatari series was intimidating but this blows it out of the water.
"Fate / Stay Night" original VN is the best way.
Or rather the remaster for it, realta nua
Back in my days, Type-moon was famous for Moon princesses and vampires!

I started from wiki spoiling myself and going into carnival phantasm like a regular individual
honestly i just spun the wheel, threw the dart and rolled the dice and decided to start in the middle of nowhere, ubw.
Exactly! You have to go into Fate Zero knowing what happens in Stay Night in order to fully appreciate what happens.
Woodsie89
>UBW spoils the ending of zero
That’s...
@@woodsie8965 Um no the author of the story literally said you should read stay night first. Zero becomes far more nuanced once you have.
Fate/Stay Night TV Reproduction is a recap of Deen Stay Night that removes most of the spoilers. Sadly it also removes much more than that and can be much harder to follow, especially for a new comer.
9:01 There is no music here but I can hear Oath Sign's intro piano right now.
Same lol
Started with Fate Zero a year or so after it came out, which is perfect since it gave me context for UBW but was long enough ago that the spoilers for Heaven's Feel won't effect me
Definitely one of the better "how to get into Fate" videos I've seen!
And Then....AND THEN, I GOTTA KNOW
I kinda just jumped in with zero and then Stay/Night and now here I am playing the dynasty warriors game
please i’ve been searching for years.. i just wanna watch the anime without causing confusion 😭😭...
I started with Prisma Illya, and moved into Grand Order thanks to the Crossover Collab event between the two. And now, I've been stuck in Gacha hell for two years...
Guys! It's so simple! Just start with the 80+ hour visual novel!!!
Yes. It's that simple.
This is entertainment, not a thesis that you required to finish. Give the VN a try. 15mn in and you get bored? That's absolutely fine. Leave it and move on.
