Making Use Of Wasted Space - Maximizing Garage Workshop Storage
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 лют 2022
- Some power tools are put together in a way that causes them to create zones of wasted space.
The wall clearance required to accommodate a drill press motor creates an empty space behind the drill. That space can be better utilized.
A vertical drill bit storage seemed to work quite nicely in the space.

Oh yes, this was massively satisfying to watch. Great job! So many good ideas in your shop
That is one hell of a drill press stand storage! Well done!
I had a larger small shop until recently. Now I have about the same amount of space as you. This is a great idea as are other projects you've done for the small shop. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of Woodshop Junkies binge watching!

Love your attention to details. And your explanation as you move along in your projects. This is why I watch and will continue to watch your videos. Great job.
I enjoyed how you utilized the unit and the space saving features you have designed into it.
Good job, I like this a lot.
No dude!!! Was just sitting down to relax and watch some tube, and now I have to go back to workshop. Was toying with doing storage for drill bits at the bottom but this idea of yours is kick ass!!!!
Goed gedoen Jean
Goeie werk
True every space can be used especially if you only have a small workshop area. I usually spend a long time just looking around the workshop to see how I can make good work of areas and convenience to pull out things I want to use and put away after use to clear center area for other jobs. I hate having to move a few things to get to what I want. Your ideas are a great asset to someone trying to utilise all areas convenient thank you
Another absolute stunning build
Despite having a little bit larger area I always approach from a maximising space thought process. This is a ripper of an idea. Sensational! Up there with the French cleat
This is a great idea. One of the few original ideas I have come across recently!
Another clever and useful idea you’ve come up with. Awesome.
I really enjoy your episodes, extremely informative. Thank-you.
It never ceases to amaze me the things you come up with. I consider myself somewhat creative but couldn't think up half of the solutions you do. Cheers for yet another awesome idea and superb craftsmanship.
the entire self-contained mobile drill station is a great idea and well executed - cheers
That is amazing. Great job and thank you for sharing.
Fantastic idea and design of maximizing space and a wonderful execution of the project. Thanks for the great ideas
Excellent idea. Even in large shops this will be useful additional to a shop.
Impressive! Very clever in how you reclaim space that most of us wouldn't even consider.
Wow! This is an awesome design and build!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
That is a great stand! Thanks for sharing this.
That is a great design. I think a solution to your airflow concern could be to slope the top forward by 30 degrees or so. This would also prevent the top from being used as a shelf to store things on that would get in the way of using the drawer and it would deflect drill shavings that land on it forward, reducing mess behind the stand.
As always, Brilliant! Great Video and love the small workshop.
Always great ideas and applications! Thanks
I really like your space saving ideas. Now I’m off to watch the earlier video in this series. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺

Another great build! Excellent innovation. That's why I subscribed.
Great idea 👍If your drill press is a good one otherwise, you don't have to worry about overheating.
That is pretty uniquely clever! Thank you for sharing.
Very nice. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic. Awesome.
Absolutely brilliant idea. Subscribed!
Fantastic.
Fantastic solution and execution!!
Another brilliant design! Great use of space! I have a really small shop as well, so your ideas for making use of space are really valuable to me. Thanks!
I agree: it's a great idea and I might have to do something similar...but I wonder what he means by a small shop space when he's got room for a full size table saw (I'm dealing with a two car garage and figuring out how to incorporate the tools I have while adding enough space for a contractor's table saw that I can use on the driveway and then tuck away).
You are one clever dude! Nice job.
neat idea. very handy.
Brilliant
Bravo pour votre travail.
Really amazing work, Jean! 😃
Brilliant use of space!

Very nice project well done 👍
I’ve got to admit that’s pretty cool idea
I'm so jealous. Nice video.
Enjoy the videos and ideas.
Great ideas. New subscriber because of them thank you Richard
This is great
I installed a bench grinder on backside of my drill press bench. I also setup a battery charging station on one side of the base with sortimo organizers under the drill press side; the opposite side has a cabinet which holds sanders and sanding pads and belts. Works well in a small shop as it can be wheeled around and even brought right to a job. I keep my bits around the base.
Very nice
Epic stuff
Very cool idea.
Good idea
Great idea.
Like all of your projects and videos, this is pure genius!.
Ya know... thats a good idea. I'll be making mine soon.
brilliant
NICE JOB
Excellent. We just built a shed, for our workshop. This would help storage.
Nice!
Thanks for another great video.
I wouldn't worry too much about restricting the airflow to the motor - I think you'll quickly get sick of cleaning chips and sawdust out of your new drawer, and will start closing it when the drill is running :)
Very Clever, as usual.
As always a great video
Awesome idea
I have so many tools that kind of waste some space that I could use something like this
very good
Très beau félicitations
That is an excellent solution.
Because I often do metal works I had to make my drill press oil proof so MDF/plywood were not suitable.
I also love using my magnetic fence and magnets as stop blocks.
I really like your space saving approach and your mechanisms
Magnetic stop blocks - such a simple idea but I wouldn't have thought of it - I find adjusting t-slot bolts on the drill press bed annoying at the best of times, but switchable magnets do the trick perfectly.
@@mikelastname I actually built the switchable magnets and you can find it in one of my videos
Brilliant!
Genius. Again...
This is genius!! I wish I saw this before I build my stand ! 🙁
Like it but would like something to ease the closure. Maybe a compression spring or a strut so it doesn’t slam down on a finger.
