I had a larger small shop until recently. Now I have about the same amount of space as you. This is a great idea as are other projects you've done for the small shop. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of Woodshop Junkies binge watching!
No dude!!! Was just sitting down to relax and watch some tube, and now I have to go back to workshop. Was toying with doing storage for drill bits at the bottom but this idea of yours is kick ass!!!!
True every space can be used especially if you only have a small workshop area. I usually spend a long time just looking around the workshop to see how I can make good work of areas and convenience to pull out things I want to use and put away after use to clear center area for other jobs. I hate having to move a few things to get to what I want. Your ideas are a great asset to someone trying to utilise all areas convenient thank you
Love your attention to details. And your explanation as you move along in your projects. This is why I watch and will continue to watch your videos. Great job.
I love your work..❤ I still waiting for the last part of your drill press stand series. The drill press table. I like your way of maximizing the design for the ultimate version.📈
Despite having a little bit larger area I always approach from a maximising space thought process. This is a ripper of an idea. Sensational! Up there with the French cleat
It never ceases to amaze me the things you come up with. I consider myself somewhat creative but couldn't think up half of the solutions you do. Cheers for yet another awesome idea and superb craftsmanship.
I installed a bench grinder on backside of my drill press bench. I also setup a battery charging station on one side of the base with sortimo organizers under the drill press side; the opposite side has a cabinet which holds sanders and sanding pads and belts. Works well in a small shop as it can be wheeled around and even brought right to a job. I keep my bits around the base.
That is an excellent solution. Because I often do metal works I had to make my drill press oil proof so MDF/plywood were not suitable. I also love using my magnetic fence and magnets as stop blocks. I really like your space saving approach and your mechanisms
Magnetic stop blocks - such a simple idea but I wouldn't have thought of it - I find adjusting t-slot bolts on the drill press bed annoying at the best of times, but switchable magnets do the trick perfectly.
That is a great design. I think a solution to your airflow concern could be to slope the top forward by 30 degrees or so. This would also prevent the top from being used as a shelf to store things on that would get in the way of using the drawer and it would deflect drill shavings that land on it forward, reducing mess behind the stand.
Another brilliant design! Great use of space! I have a really small shop as well, so your ideas for making use of space are really valuable to me. Thanks!
I agree: it's a great idea and I might have to do something similar...but I wonder what he means by a small shop space when he's got room for a full size table saw (I'm dealing with a two car garage and figuring out how to incorporate the tools I have while adding enough space for a contractor's table saw that I can use on the driveway and then tuck away).
You have so many great solutions, I'll soon build my own small workshop and hope you don't mind me using some of your ideas 😁 looking forward to your next videos
Thanks for another great video. I wouldn't worry too much about restricting the airflow to the motor - I think you'll quickly get sick of cleaning chips and sawdust out of your new drawer, and will start closing it when the drill is running :)
Oh yes, this was massively satisfying to watch. Great job! So many good ideas in your shop

just awesome how you think outside of the box to use empty space wish i could learn that trait! keep doing it and glad your feeling better!
the entire self-contained mobile drill station is a great idea and well executed - cheers

I enjoyed how you utilized the unit and the space saving features you have designed into it.

Impressive! Very clever in how you reclaim space that most of us wouldn't even consider.
Excellent idea. Even in large shops this will be useful additional to a shop.

Came into the video late, jaw dropped when I saw what it was. Marvellous concept.

@@mikelastname I actually built the switchable magnets and you can find it in one of my videos
Another clever and useful idea you’ve come up with. Awesome.
Great idea 👍If your drill press is a good one otherwise, you don't have to worry about overheating.
As always, Brilliant! Great Video and love the small workshop.

This is a great idea. One of the few original ideas I have come across recently!
Great idea and result.
I like the shop mantra of "Let us not waste space".
Or, as Kelly Bundy might say it, "Lettuce does not waste space". 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Outstanding. Best wishes from the UK.
Bravo pour votre travail.
