    The fact that so many are suggesting “tweaks” to your design shows you are a massive success - your approach makes people *think* which means you inspire people which is what YT should do.

    I am very thankful for the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxbnOKZBE4evMO5V2vroHeCjq6d_MV6wJO that has been a tremendous help to me in building a perfect outdoor shed. I have been facing many challenges and difficulties for a long time, but this plan has guided me to correct the mistakes during the process. I am impressed by the projects and I express my gratitude to the creator of this collection of plans.

    That would also be a great concept to use for a small kitchen that doesn’t have a lot of cabinets. I could see it used for spices, utensils, measuring cups and spoons, etc. etc. etc..

    I have to admit that half way through I thought this is proper UA-cam project - looks impressive, but no one will actually build something like this for own use only. I was wrong. It looks really functional and makes a lot of sense for a small work room.
    Great editing as well. No minutes and minutes of table saw cutting and glueing up layers of planks. Just the essence of the project.
    Well done!

    At first I thought, nah prefer to use a normal cleats with sone nice tool holders as a few nice designs on You Tube. (Glimpse in Side). Especially considering us wood workers can be a little vain and like to show the tools we have? 😂😂But after seeing how this turned out, would definitely buy the plans if you have them in metric. Fantastic use of space and looks great on the wall. What I also like about it is should you ever rearrange or move, then it’s a simple case of just lifting the whole box off the wall with all your tools inside and all in one go. Genius albeit heavy. But if done right french cleats can take huge amounts of weight so no problems there! Excellent 👍

    I just remembered another great addition to a tool storage ...... Lavels where you might have a screw or nail all by its self. In the past I've gone down the route of painting the board and marking round the tool, as well as tags on string hanging from the nails, but at the end of the day it boils down to one thing....... remembered what the missing item is!! I've done jobs that end up with tools in multiple locations as well as being in temporary tool boxes...... I've also had a wife "borrow" a tool and it just vanishes. With some sort of label system you will know exactly what is missing from your board straight away, which means looking for it is a LOT easier! I hope this helps someone and, as always, great job on both the build and the instructions on making and assembly 😊👍👍👍👍

    I like the new tool storage but wonder if moving the panels will 'get old' in time. Absolutely want to see a video on making the tool holders. That was one of my favorites parts of your french cleat wall. Had you considered having the bottom door open to horizontally flat so that it can be used as a "staging table" when adding/removing tools? Are you giving up on your french cleat system? So glad you are back on creative workshop projects!

    • @thisisyourcaptin
      @thisisyourcaptin Рік тому

      I worry about that. BUT, if you are limit on space, like I am, This make a load of sense keeping things where you can find them, vers hunt for them. As of now I have a similar working area and all the tools he hung are my go to and are stored all over. This would keep them right where I can get them quick AND have a home for them in the future to GET them quick.
      It definitely has a home in many peoples lives. Not all, but many.

    You should install a retaining chain from the frame to the bottom door so that those hinges aren’t in a lateral strain constantly, other than that it’s a solid build!

    • @dougveganparadisebuilder5808
      @dougveganparadisebuilder5808 Рік тому

      How the bottom door is hanging down in that angle would be my only point of critique. I would make it so it would hang down completely vertical, more ergonomic. But overall a very ingenious build by Sean.

    • @robt2151
      @robt2151 Рік тому

      Valid comment about the strain on the hinges.
      Also, adding a couple of chains to hold the lower door horizontal would make it into a shelf that would be useful when sorting tools or using more than you can hold in one hand.

    That is a very neat project. For some time I'm planning something like that for my garage but, frame wise, much easier and on larger scale.
    I already have some sliding shelves in my garage and for lubrication, I used an ancient method that still in use today in some industries, which is wax.
    I would use a metal strip under the bearings because soon, with the weight of the tools, you will have a groove where the bearings run.

    • @sergioferreirs69
      @sergioferreirs69 Рік тому +4

      I like the idea of the metal strip under the bearings. I also always use wax to lubricate on wood but I've found an even better option.... Butchers block wax! It's a combination of Bees wax and Mineral oil which goes on easy, especially in a narrow groove like that.

    I would have put the aluminium guides on the back for aesthetic reasons as I'm an architect. The other suggestion would be to make the upper guide slot deeper so you can remove the panels. You may well have done that though so if you did, good thinking.

I think another great idea for your cabinet would be to use your bottom door as a table. You could put a small chain on each end. I know you wouldn't be able to put heavy stuff on it but it could hold your tools as you select them. Take care and GOD BLESS 🙏!
