This is a very good video. Thanks. When I called Genie about my opener suddenly being 100% dead (yes there is 120 V verified at the outlet it is plugged into), I tried unplugging and plugging in a few times to see if it would "reset"... no luck... they said the answer was to change the logic board for about 120 $ + replacing the wall panel and reprogramming as you mentioned. I really like how quiet this DC motor opener is, compared with other openers, but the board just dying instantly for no good reason made it very hard to get into the garage. I am debating either buying the replacement logic board kit or repairing the power supply on my existing logic board. You can almost bet on the capacitors being dried up from being powered 24/7.
Spot on. There’s a video somewhere out there where a guy changes a capacitor on the board which cost him maybe 50 cents to a dollar online. He sauters it and the board is back running. Might not hurt to try it if the cost is much friendlier. As for the board just dying, this is becoming more common now in the garage industry as manufacturers aren’t making them “ bulletproof” anymore. I see motors from the 80s still working strong and when they fail, it’s a simple capacitor or adjustment. Not the case with these new units. Power outages are surging these new units left and right. Not to mention a power surge almost always voids the manufacturer warranty so there you go. Let me know what you decide and please send me an update if you do the capacitor change. Would love to see a success story from that dead board l. Thanks for the feedback 🙌🙏
Can you please check in your "Comments To Approve" section. I left a lengthy reply comment with a full description of the logic board repair I did for the Genie model 4062 I have... I hope UA-cam didn't nuke the comment completely... they have been doing that lately.
Thanks for the instructions. This is the model I have, 4062. Did yours lose power completely? There is power at the outlet but no light at the wall console and sensors. Mine has no power and I did the troubleshooting with Genie. They recommend changing the circuit board. I'm thinking about replacing the whole unit but the circuit board would save me money.
Yes they are correct, whenever you lose power to the unit but still have power to the wall panel, it’s a strong indicator that the logic board is bad. If your happy with the system you have , I would just replace the board.

The Genie website has the kit as 38875R2.S for $136. This has the wall control also. Not sure how different this is from the one you used.
Yes it comes with the wall and your going to want to replace everything that it comes with.
How much did the circuit board cost you?
Around $100. You can find it on Genies website or Amazon
