A's Pay Up! Final Payment Made For County's Half of Oakland Coliseum
Вставка

- The Oakland Athletics days may be numbers at the Coliseum, but they just completed their final payment for their half of the property. Back in 2019, the A's agreed to pay Alameda County $85M for their half of the Coliseum. That amount was due within 180 days of announcing relocation. After the County smartly called their bluff, the A's full lump sum payment of $26.5M was due on May 14. I have been told they made their payment in full.
So what comes next? If you've been paying attention to this process, you know it's complicated...

AlCo really messed up by not requiring the Athletics to stay in Oakland as apart of the purchase.
Fisher would not have signed the paperwork. He's a shmuck.
This 💯
THe only leverage the City had was when Fisher bought and wanted a new lease. Cities have very little leverage to keep teams unless they have a long term lease. Oakland mismanaged everything.
It was supposed to be a backup in case Howard Terminal fell apart, which it did. They lied about that too, saying the Coliseum site isn't viable.
@@scotttild What else is new?
Fisher will sell the land and that will help pay for the stadium in Las Vegas .. So the city of Oakland will be paying for the A’s to move ..
And he will sell it for more than he bought it... Smart business move...
3rd scenario. Vegas falls through, Sac falls through, A's build on current Coliseum site, and Fisher sells 😃
Haha. I’m still not sure anyone wants a stadium at the coliseum site.
@@CaseyPrattCreations If it keeps the team in Oakland, right? 😉
@@CaseyPrattCreationswhy would anyone not want to use that site? There are no better sites. Ample parking. It's own Bart station. Right off the freeway. What more could you ask for?
This was so stupid ... why didn't Alameda County just sell its half of the land directly to the City of Oakland? Now Fisher gets to demand whatever money he wants from the City and developers while he moves the A's to Vegas.
Whoever didnt throw in the caveat that the A's would have to return ownership to the county if they announce relocation needs to be fired... So now that the A's own 50% and if the city wants to develop, they can block anything right???
Fisher's lawyers>Oakland's lawyers
wait ... I thought Fisher was a broke billionaire?
He is - why else would he be begging for more money from Vegas?
Billionaires don’t beg for public money slow one he’s brokeeeeeee
@@mobbinkorrectly MLB required to public partnership ... I don't see anyone begging?
@@togoandmoss makes you wonder why he didn’t do it in Oakland…. With a championship owner like lacob. This right here proves it was a fix all along lol. Need money? The bays got more investors than Vegas. Don’t need all the housing and everything else in Vegas - why did he keep moving the goal line in Oakland?
No way to shake it other then mlb is gross
@@stefanbrown5872 he probably sees the Raiders are worth more than the 49ers now… he is not going to have trouble finding investors… if he decides to take any.
That was a really dumb deal
What a pittance for Fisher.
City of Oakland bent over backwards for the A’s when they should of just did that for the Raiders and said F the A’s they didn’t realize how big of a clown Fisher was back then
Dream scenario now: lawsuit wins, county sells to Lacomb or similar. Oakland starts the process to get an expansion teaming with Lacomb/etc at the helm to build on Coliseum site or Howard terminal, get that ball rolling. Then hopefully the timeline intersects with Vegas falling thru and Sacramento not being able to make progress either. Then sell the team to Lacomb and drop them into the new stadium instead of an expansion team.
Anyone have a better idea?
Sue the A's and MLB for a billion dollars or give them an expansion team at a discount.
It's Friday night, sure, why not get stone?
SMH....no to Coliseum and HT is officially dead. You need lawsuit working out so County gets it back then sells it to City
Well the City is still paying for Mt. Davis and will be for the next 10 years at least.
It just keeps going and going. What a shitshow!!!
You sold he owns it his half he owns
Fisher is only looking out for himself ..he's trying to pad his wallet and his wallet only ..fans be damned
Which half of the Oakland Coliseum does John Greedy Fisher own??????????????????????????????????????????
Pay up so Alameda County has more money to give to “ migrants “ .
