@@cheeseymattybob He was a useless clunking fist, and a lousy Chancellor. He took Keynesianism and turned it on his head - he pissed all the money up the wall, even in the good times pre-2007. Keynes says you're meant to run a surplus then but he ran a deficit in good times and bad.

I’ve always thought it an odd reaction. Throughout the World Gordon Brown is given huge credit for coordinating the rescue of the banking system and, yes, effectively fir Saving the World. Only in the Commons do they sneer and mock him.

It’s a shame for Gordon as his answer was otherwise perfect; he clearly knew what he was talking about.
I’m a right winger but in hindsight I would’ve voted for him instead of Cameron; Brown was actually less of a Blairite in a lot of ways.

I think he was about to say "Saved the world's economy" but he corrected himself because what he actually meant was.. "Saved the world's economy being banked by Tokyo, rather than London" Think on tories. Maybe he did you some harm, but what he saved you from was far worse.
