I am a 62 year old woman who spent many years maintaining my ‘normal weight’ by being hungry, getting hangry, having dry eye, being bloated with IBS and being miserable. Now I don’t eat ANY plants or things made from plants and have healed my body. Shocking that I learned this from UA-cam and not the many doctors / health professionals I asked. Thank you for sharing this video.

Same here. I’m 65 and spent most my life eating less and exercising more. I was always hungry/hangry too. My weight went up and down by 100 lbs several times in my life. Health took a dive. Now I’m carnivore over 4 years and loving it! I’m healthy and easily maintain a weight that is optimal for me. No more going hungry and over exercising. And I learned it all via self experimentation and these wonderful UA-cam carnivore influencers. Mainstream medicine is no help. I avoid doctors.

Now I’m still fighting my craving and feel like such a failure. I’ve gained back 10:lbs. and have arthritis pains and other symptoms that I know will go away if I get back to carnivore but I’m a slave to sugar. When I listen to these videos I just admire the people who have control of their cravings but I wonder if I’ll ever be able to conquer mine. Kudos to you for getting back on the wagon. In about 1996 I was working on a large 100 thousand acre farm in the outback of NSW. It was sheep shearing time and one of the shearer’s was an older guy 60 years old. They were living in the same quarters as us . We ate with them each morning and evening. The older guy only at steaks done in butter and garlic. I never saw him eat anything else and asked him about this. He told me as I munched on my supposedly healthy muesli and fruit breakfast that I was poisoning myself and that fruit and grains were not designed for humans. At the time 1996 I thought he was insane but alas he was way ahead of his time. He was the fittest and strongest of the shearing team despite the fact his team mates were all in their late twenties. The only other thing he consumed was water.

The concensus, at least amongst this audience, is that oats and fruit is bad for you? I eat oatmeal often, including steel cut oats, with my homemade mix of numerous dried fruits, nuts and seeds. I'm so confused whenever I come to the doctor channels.

    • @TerriblePerfection
      @TerriblePerfection Рік тому +43

@@Funexpected I was too for a long time. It's not surprising though when you consider how many livelihoods depend on us eating poor-quality foods. Then you have to factor in all the drug company profits from the resulting illnesses.
You really have to do your own research, combined with self-experimentation. Once you find a few channels that agree, and whose creators you trust, a picture emerges of how humans ate for a very long time before modern agriculture and medicine. Some things are still unknown and controversial, so that's where the experimentation comes is. You just need to be scrupulously honest about the results.
Yes, grains cause inflammation and should be avoided. Dried fruits are loaded with sugar, so they should be avoided for the same reason you would avoid fresh fruit. Nuts and seeds are problematic although some people seem to tolerate a few. I tried to keep macadamias and pistachios in my own diet but had to admit that I felt better without them.
Personally, I trust Ken Berry, along with Anthony Chaffee, Bart Kay, and Harry Serpanos. No doubt there are others. Keep digging! But the bottom line does seem to be: less is more. Variety is just another food myth.
      Vary your meats! 🥩

Awesome! Also there’s some irony to your last statement, and that is that grains aren’t even an appropriate diet for cows, in that it makes them fat too, ie the marbling of beef…and as for pigs, they’re monogastric, like us humans, but if given the opportunity, they would eat us. This happens more often than we hear about, but when pigs are allowed to become wild, they grows tusks and become their ultimate selves; similar to humans on a carnivore diet.

I am going to transition into carnivore diet. I have spent most of my life struggling with weight loss. Many times my weight has roller coastered up and down about 100 pounds. I am known as the fat person in the family and at work. They don't see me or my accomplishments or my hard work ethic moral values and intelligence, they just write me off as the fat person in the room. My toxic mother was the main source of this treatment ever since I was in elementary school and continuing through my entire life. My older sister was always a size 6, so she was always "better" than me and deserved more because of her size. Once my sister had enough clothes to wear for school, we would stop shopping. I had to dig for clothes at a rummage sale. I remember wearing the same dress 2-3 times a week in fifth grade because nothing else fit.
According to my mother, I was supposed to be lucky for what I can get out of life, even a bad marriage. I remember my husband saying to me that he would stay with me as long as I didn't get any fatter. I am divorced now. My father always thought that only an extremely overweight man of any kind would be the perfect match for me.
So I hope this finally works and I feel better. Overweight people are discriminationed against. Hopefully stoping all the toxic foods will finally put me on the right path. I love what you CAN eat on this diet.

However, half of the 80 pounds I lost on carnivore have returned and I had not lost the final 25 pounds to goal, so.... I'm too old to be this heavy with no strength in my legs to maneuver stairs with ease, without fear of falling.

A well balanced diet along with meat can give you all the vitamins and minerals you need to stay healthy. Historically, before the 1970's, people were generally not overweight. It wasn't until all the man-made chemicals, artificial ingredients, pharmaceuticals, pesticides and other garbage was added to our food and beverages and to our plants and animals, did we start having the illnesses and obesity we see now!

I do this as an intermittent fasting every 24 hours. I lost 12 kg in the first 4 weeks and an additional 8 kg in the next 2 months. Now I have reached my ideal weight. The health examination showed very good improvements: For the first time in 30 years, my liver values are in the normal range. My LDL cholesterol even went down! - and the HDL has risen, in total I have a cholesterol value of 189 instead of 220 a year ago. My triglycerides have dropped by 80%. My doctor can't explain all this. Neither do I. The reason I started the diet is because of my rheumatoid arthritis. The rheumatism values are all in the normal range! My joint pain is gone after 2 months. It's completely insane - I can hardly believe it myself. I really had to let people know this, I was doing keto for 4yrs & realised that I was was doing too much veg & not enough protein & fat . I had dark circles under my eyes & looked terrible with out makeup.
I've gone to carnivore & feel so much better. The only thing I couldn't let go of was liquid stevia in my coffee. I started having a misty smoky in my vision. I was worried about my eyes , then I saw a podcast & this gentleman was explaining about how he realised that was something wrong when he said to his son that there must be a bad fire somewhere. His son said there is no fire dad. Now I realise that stevia is doing that to me. I've stopped the stevia only for a few days & that smokey vision has gone.
But more than this, It hits home to me that I'm on the right path for my health .
Thank you doctor Berry for all you do for us x

Eeeep, my coffee with whipping cream and truvia is the one thing i can't give up. I thought stevia was the best alternative to sugar and sugar alternatives!😭😭 I don't know how I can truly be successful with this carnivore diet. It's taking away EVERYTHING I've grown heavily dependent on for most of my life. 😔 And yes, i do realize the tragic irony in sticking to my SAD diet whilst being miserable the whole damn time and KNOWING what it is that is keeping me enslaved. *Sigh** maybe there's no hope for me-- bad food is just a heavy addiction.

@@chernobylshery885 I had read a study on glycine and NAC... glycine is an amino acid, about 1/3 as sweet as sugar... but looks like sugar. it has tons of health benefits... but I still avoided it cos I thought, oh it has a sweet taste, it'll out my blood glucose up. well turns out it has the OPPOSITE effect... and reduces post prandial glucose to 50% of what it would be. I'm doing a trial of it...with NAC
the studies were on marks daily apple, at least the original study GLYNAC supplementation in older adults. it literally reversed aging, then they took it away and switched aging on again, then switched it back off!( the markers were things like glucose, waist circumf, gait, arthritis sympts etc.). also its a collagen precursor, and apparently we are all ( all mammals) definitely deficient in this one of the 3. Mark Sisson did an article re glycine or collagen... I think glycine won out from memory. its cheaper too I think. so I have chronic pain exacerbations from hypermobility, but anecdotally haven't had one in 6 weeks taking glycine and NAC 2-3x a day. also... u can BAKE with it, put in hot drinks, whatever. I started keto about 5 years ago. After years of trying so many diets. Low fat, salads, 6 mini meals a day, weight watchers, you name it, I tried it. But with keto I dropped 45 pounds without starving myself, was able to stop my high blood pressure meds, no more swollen legs, improved skin etc. I am mostly carnivore now. I say mostly because I still fall off the wagon from time to time. Not easy living with a baker in the house who also likes to make homemade pizza, fries, breads, etc 🤨. But I'm trying with renewed vigor to not be tempted and lazy really. I say lazy because I know if I'd just make myself a proper meal that temptation disappears. At 61, and inspite of the things going on in the world I intend to be fit, healthy and joyful. Great discussion, thank you ❤️. Liked and shared

I started seeing a retina doc for my attached retina in July and when it separated it left a hole. While on carnivore, and using the eye drops as ordered, and Christian women praying for me, within 3 months the doctor said he only sees 1:4 heal like this. I will not need surgery as the hole is filling in. Now my vision is not perfect yet but it’s so much better.

I was 123 pounds two years ago and put weight on without eating. I knew something wasn't right. Long story short. I just had an operation to take out a tumor that was 16x12cm and of course two tubes cut and my right ovary. By the grace of God thank God it wasn't the c word. I was so hooked on being so thin that it really almost took me out. I'm grateful more than grateful. I just wanna be healthy so I can see my granddaughters get older and hopefully be around for theirs if they choose to have any. I want to live a healthy life. He had acid reflux, sleep apnea, dry eye, neuropathy, obesity, stage 1 kidney disease, depression, frequent diverticulitis, chronic constipation, man…I could go on and on! We, hubby and I did Carnivore for a few months and it was great!!! Hubby lost all cravings. Fell off the wagon hard, and hubby has all the cravings back. Trying to get back on but the addiction to carbs and sugar is REAL!! Working back slowly

Thanks for sharing this experience. Same thing happened to me over and over again on KETO. Now that I’m on Carnivore I’ve resolved to “Take the Pledge” never to eat any carbs ever again. NEVER. Being a sugar and dairy addict is absolutely the same as being a heroin or alcohol addict. You can’t go back. Even one “sampling” is enough to reactivate the addiction center in the brain and it grabs you by the throat and punishes you for DARING to climb on the wagon to get away from your addiction. There is only one way to prevent that from happening: ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY - NO CARBS (ESP. SUGARS & DAIRY) EVER. PERIOD. FULL STOP.

Addiction is terrible, same symptoms like heroine addicts. Be tough and start again, love yourself and your health 🙏
