If nothing else the Hell ending gives promise for a positive outcome; in the Epilogue, at the party, Karlach mentions that she (and whoever else came with her to Hell) has found a lead that could very well result in getting her engine properly fixed so that she can go home again to stay.
@@Blazieth I suppose so, but it is still a bit sad that she has to stay in the place she's been desperately trying to escape before the game. But hey, there's always a chance!
Yyeah I mean I know why everybody wants that, because Mama K is so beloved by so many. But, a tragic and/or bittersweet ending for somebody so lovable is really amazing storytelling. The fact alone that her endings cause so many people to want a happier ending for her tells me that she was written and acted to perfection, and that alone I am happy with. An ending that doesn’t go well for her is just another staple in the masterwork that is Larians storytelling
I first got the ending where she blows up. I was devastated. My 2nd play through I romanced her and I talked her into going to Avernus, together. The cigar scene made me tear up. And the epilogue made it so worth it. I think it was satisfying enough for me personally. I did like the idea of a playtbrough branch where Raphael offers you karlach’s heart instead.
That ending is so sad. You can see that that isn‘t Karlach. It might have the memories of her and uses her vocabulary but her soul is missing. It‘s just the sum of its parts and nothing more. I don’t think I could ever finish the game like that. For me it‘s just too heartbreaking.

I wish there was a better ending for Karlach where she doesn't go to literal Hell or turns into a being with no soul.

Mind flayer partialism is subconscious so i guess Karlach kept her soul
Couldnt she just glamor herself like the emperor did
