I've tried a few few different chickpea omelet/egg recipes and they never work. This one was no different. I follow the recipe exactly and all I get is a dried out crumbly mess. I've tried adding more water..even tried adding a little oil to the mixture but same results. Not sure if it's a specific brand or type of chickpea flour that is being used? I've been using Herbaila natural gluten free chickpea flour
I have a unopened bag of chickpea flour that I purchased recently and cannot wait to try this omelette with some vegetables. My mother used to serve veg omelettes with a light drizzle of Worcestershire sauce over top with toast as a lunch dish. So tasty. Of course I will use a vegan Worcestershire, Boudin’s sourdough toast and Miyoko’s butter (my Northern California staples). Looking forward to watching all of your videos. Thank you!
Hi dear, Thanks for the video. I've been a vegan for many years but never learnt how to use chickpea flour properly. My omelette came out very tick, but tasty! I'll had even more water next time. This was my dinner today and I don't need anything else, really. Thank you. :)
Ist time on your channel and I find it interesting that omelet looked quite delicious. Just would like some lunch & dinner recipes. Thanks for sharing your omelet recipe. 😊❤🇯🇲
nice play on the italian farinata or the french socca. i wonder if aquafava --the liquid in a can of chickpea, could be whipped like eggwhites and incorporated into the batter to create an omelette even more closely resembling a traditional french omelette--or even pushed to be like an omelette soufflee? hmmm... i think im going to be playing in my kitchen soon.
Hi thank you for sharing the recipe looks really nice. How many omelettes do you prepare using these measurements? Do you have the measurements if I was only to prepare one? thank you 🙂
With practise you will .it will help if you loosen the sides like how she does .then put the thing you flip it with really deep means around halfway and flip over quickly with practise u will suceed😀
1 cup garbanzo flour 1cup water 1 tsp each of apple cider vinegar, black salt, baking powder and mixed herbs. Oil for pan Did I get it right? Thank you. Hope this helps someone else.
that's a pancake (I'm talking about a real pancake, not an american pancake, which is thicker and smaller); no eggs => no omelet (or omelette, if you are british)
You should not be giving up eggs. There is a reason they were hard to give up and that is because they have essential fatty acids in. Read again the word 'essential'. Eat eggs.
If your not interested in meat free alternatives WHY come here and comment. You want meat and eggs. FINE don’t come here questioning what and why we do what we do. Ugh!!!
thanks for this recipe. it's my first peek at your vlogs, and you are lovely! i like the addition of apple cider vinegar -- which is not listed in your ingredients at the top, btw. that little tweak could make all the difference. checking your other vlogs, and just subscribed, of course! wishing you all the best!!

@@brandonqualls2769 I used Anthony’s chickpea flour and it came out great. Maybe give that brand a try. 😊
@@brandonqualls2769my story too with recipes I use.

So pleased to hear this!! 💗
I just had one with tomatoes cucumber spiced onions sunflower seed cream and fresh parsley soooo good 😋🌱
You are a very good teacher Brook, cant wait to try these omelets.
Thank you for this simple recipe. Adding our own seasonings, veggies and herbs is a snap!
I love adding veggies and other flavours to this too!
In India we’ve been eating this for a loooong time. It’s called Cheela. The flour in an Indian store is called Besan

Hey, I think this makes about 4 but depends on the pan size
What is the flour water ratio.....
Please do some videos on incorporating meat as an ingredient, I bet something like steak tartare would be yummy with a chickpea omelet.
Are you trolling?
This looks so good! Would love to see a fried rice recipe with this "egg"
We'll get it uploaded asap Kamal :)

Does the black salt retain its sulphurness after cooking? Not better t add after cooking?
Better to add after cooking. You can use less the flavor does loose its strength.
Thanks
This is Indian besan pancake
I’m sorry but what did you call a spatula? I genuinely couldn’t make out the words I think I heard fish slice..
Omelette or pancakes?
They're generally referred to as 'omelettes' but a bit more of a hybrid.
It's a pancake.
What herbs?
Why is mine crumbly, can't flip?
Thanks cuz mines look like a pancake not a egg 🥚😁😂🥲 I dnt use baking soda next time
why might you not want to put it in the blender?
You're making crepes, not an omelette. So, now what do you put on them before you eat them. I don't think I'd just want to eat what you have there.
What sort of frying pan is that?
This set is Bialetti and is fab :)
Is it suppose to be a bit doughy inside ??
Hey, it sounds like you maybe need to spread the mixture a little thinner :)
Mine just crumble, can't flip?
With practise you will .it will help if you loosen the sides like how she does .then put the thing you flip it with really deep means around halfway and flip over quickly with practise u will suceed😀
You did not mentioned how much flour
In the video she mentioned 125 g of chickpea flour
Could some one post the ingredients for America measurements. Thank you.
XL, XXL and XXXL. No problem.
@@Wesz808 I don’t under stand. I wanted the teaspoon, ounces, cup etc for the omelette. I live in the states.
125g of flour is roughly 1 cup. Chickpea flour = Garbanzo bean flour. Teaspoon in the UK is the same as teaspoon in the US.
1 cup garbanzo flour
1cup water
1 tsp each of apple cider vinegar, black salt, baking powder and mixed herbs.
Oil for pan
Did I get it right?
Thank you. Hope this helps someone else.
Yes perfect Anita!
❤️🤓🙏🏼
This is not a chickpeas omelette but it is a chick peas flat bread
Thats sad you left youtube :(
that's a pancake (I'm talking about a real pancake, not an american pancake, which is thicker and smaller); no eggs => no omelet (or omelette, if you are british)
We call it chickpea dosa in South India. This video was such a waffle.
Looks great but you don't need to use oil
Oil is flavoooooor
Oil is extra calories you don’t needdddd
but how
I agree to much oil especially if one is using nonstick pan
we are plant-based, that means no oil
Agree I never use oil . I use water and it works great if you stir it consistently to avoid it sticking.
Oil is plant based🏃
Just too much of useless talking. Get on with the recipe, please
Rude
Agree 😂
Far too long, too much talking. 2 minutes will do for such a basic recipe…
bla bla bla go straight to the point FFS
Too much talk
Please talk less and show more 🙂.
Geez !! So much TALKING !!!
You should not be giving up eggs. There is a reason they were hard to give up and that is because they have essential fatty acids in. Read again the word 'essential'. Eat eggs.
It's not an omelette , a pan cake actually. .......If there 's no baking powder it's a roti or chapati...( flat bread)
TALK A LOT, JUST MAKE THE VIDEO
Talk too much my God🤦♀️
Cool but... Chickens poop an egg every day. If they're free range and well treated what's the problem with having eggs??
Some of us think eating a chickens period sounds quite gross regardless anyone else’s reasons for going vegan. Let us be
Also, normal chickens don’t “poop” and egg daily. Do some research on how many eggs normal kept chickens lay compared to cage kept
If your not interested in meat free alternatives WHY come here and comment. You want meat and eggs. FINE don’t come here questioning what and why we do what we do. Ugh!!!
You do realize that chickens are manipulated to produce many eggs a day. They are given too many chemicals to produce a lot of eggs and antibiotics.
