Absolutely sign off as an INTP. Ti can be very similar to Fi and strongly feel it serves a similar purposes as Fi for INFPs. But with a different spin. Anything I can offload to logic or sense-making (while remaining authentic), I will.
Here's the thing, and there's a great video by Zoe Bee about this: Facts actually DO care about your feelings. I feel that, once you understand this, you may start to understand why Ti and Fi can do similar things.
Ti, to me, is all about constructing a worldview that makes sense and with ideas on how to actualize my dreams for that world. Fi seems similar, but is more about projecting self in the moment or constantly. I don't feel this big need to "live" or look authentic to my identity, but I absolutely experience problems and may get defensive when someone starts trying to criticize my ideas, worldview, or logic/reasons that explain things.
I hate debate, but won't take any kind of intellectual assault lying down! Lol.

I really resonated with the part where you said people with Ti associate their identity with the logic they have. I feel like it is true 🙂

Yes... Ti can also be very authentic, but perhaps a better term for it from a Ti perspective is congruency.

Not particularly authentic because i dont feel it any urge about it. I just want to be original in everything i do and i dont want being controlled

@@reizer05 being original is being authentic though. Can one be original and yet not authentic? Synomyms of authentic are original, genuine...Isn't not wanting to be controlled part of staying true to authenticity? Ti is an authentic judging function. Just because you do not feel it but rather think it, doesn't make it less authentic. One doesn't have to feel to be authentic.

Yes! Finally, someone explaining the difference in regards to authenticity. I found myself struggling to find my type in the beginning because it was always Fi that was related to authenticity but the Ti is neglected.

    • @PowerRedBullTypology
      @PowerRedBullTypology 3 роки тому +2

@@perjohanaxell9862 Both Ti and Fi domiannts tend to be the most open and honest about their Ti and Fi opinions, without that much taking into account if these opinions actually work that well in the enviroment they are in (which is the Te or Te judgement). Te and Fe dominants are more pragmatic so whenever they say stuff, there usually is a goal or at least they are highly aware of the goals and external judgements of others. Whenever Fi or Ti think stuff, there is no goal and they ingore the enviroment. So Fi and TI are more blunt like children. They're honest, but can be a not too honest at times. Te and Fe are goal orientated, but can be a bit too goal orientated sometimes.

The way that I see it is that F types work in binaries such as Good/Bad or True/False. Where as T types work as probabilities. Both of them are processed out of logic but what's emphasized in the logical process is different and you can definitely see that in identity.

  • @micahgmiranda

(ENTP) I agree that Ti and Fi are identity functions, but I think authenticity should be a word that has been and should be reserved as a differentiator. For example, Personality Hacker uses that word specifically to denote Fi(accuracy for Ti). We all express authenticity to a degree, and I think this is a good explanation of how someone with Fi represents themselves. I just think there should be some consistency with vocabulary representation especially for the newcomers and naysayers. Once you've digested these concepts, it's much easier to navigate type terminology fluently.
Also I think this ties in well with another video I found about how authenticity is seen today, evolving from sincerity to it's latest iteration: profilicity. ua-cam.com/video/-QMHOsfjHq0/v-deo.html

thank you for this. you really nailed a major point of vulnerability for me in communication. Ti expression is so crucial to my identity and the way people respond really affects me even though I rarely show it. I have tertiary Ti but I've focused on it so much that people sometimes think I'm an INTP lol

I can really relate since authenticity has always been important to me but I’m pretty easy going when it comes to compromising on feeling type things but it’s like pulling teeth to get me to compromise on logic. You have to convince that what you’re saying makes more sense and nothing else will change my mind but I can understand and appreciate different values, so long as they don’t compromise logical sense. It’s taken me awhile but I now understand that valuing and respecting other people’s feelings in their own right, is actually logical so long as no one is trying to force me into agreeing with anything that makes no sense to me.

man this is the best description. I dont mind if i have to sit back and act polite in a crowd even if i dont want to, but not lying about a fact that im pretty much aware of. Had a situation where i had to purchase a rock and the dealer kept stating its authenticity but I knew it wasnt genuine because i have studied rocks, I was surprised how defensive I got with something so minor. Even my mother was surprised how i overreacted because it was unlike me.

EXACTLY! It gets old that people keep saying Fe is fake or spineless, we have Ti in our stacks~
Not just Fi-doms, Te-doms can also attach to their human values a lot but they might be too blind to see that attachment and think they are objective when they unwittingly (or knowingly against their better judgment) put themselves in an echo chamber.

    - Ti : What I believe is truth !

Since both are subjective answers, it should be normal that those answers reflect themselves their owners.

I'm INFJ (Ti) and being authentic is very important to me especially in the sense of saying only what i actually think whether that be an opinion or more obviously what i understand to be factually true, or even saying something with words that bleed true from my heart instead of using cliches or other phrases where authenticity gets lost in the high usage of the word or phrase. But this rarely if ever has anything to do with my feelings. My feelings are not considered something to be authentic about, only something i experience. I'll full out hide my feelings when It's not appropriate for the setting or I feel the other person won't understand.... which is always.
