    You gave perfect examples of this problem of explaining things to others.
    So much gets lost while explaining things to others to the point it gets somewhat frustrating. Frustrating in a sense that they will never get the full picture as it played out in your mind.
    Being an artist is a perfect way to counter this imo

    Daydreaming, inner image, beauty, lost in translation, it’s so me. I truly feel like a person yelling inside the room and trying to tell others about this beautiful image.

    It’s personally been hard for me to meet people that can understand that inner beauty. As an INTJ-T it can be painful or tiring to always have to meet Sensory people and a pro-dominantly “Sensory world” on their terms and level.

    This. THIS is just what I needed. Literally. I spent like 3h researching and trying to understand Si and its similarities with Ni and just like that, AsuraPsych's new video appeared. Coincidence? I think not.
    Thank you, Chris;

    Great job, as always, of clarifying the frustrations of people who think more internally and giving examples that people can relate to in order to understand those frustrations. This video hits on the main reason I get so annoyed with those pop videos on INFJ fluff that always state "INFJ's feel misunderstood because there are so few of them." NO! That is not true! The entire world could be populated with only INFJ's, or INTJ's, etc. and they would all feel just as misunderstood because their misunderstanding has to do with their perception being their own, unique unto themselves, internal perception and not being able to relate their world to others in the outside, shared perception world. At best, if there were a majority of INFJ/INTJ's around they would all understand that they do not understand what others are perceiving. Thank you, Asura, for stating this! I just wish this video could be attached to all the over-hyped nonsense that floats around related to MBTI so that the majority of people could truly understand and not continue to spread generalized, stereotyped misinformation.

    Very good. I was terrible at explaining my thoughts when I was younger. Literally, most of it would be lost in translation. Today, I'm much better at this thanks to my Te, and I can structure them in a way that others understand (I can go overboard with analogies, though). Now, I'm trying to convey the beauty as well. It's hard, but it's a shame to leave it out.

    I don't know what to say about your videos anymore. Ever since you started this channel, and I found it, I've been a long time lurker, with some comments here and there. I scored INTJ on various tests over long period of time, and after doing a lot of "soul searching" in the last two years I still couldn't relate to many (a lot) INTJs online, but I still can't believe that you are literally the only alive person that is exactly like me. Everything you said in this video is me, and it's not only this video, practically every single video you release is either I see the similarities between you and me or you simply make the same conclusions as I do or talk about things that I've concluded in my mind.
    Just want to say thank you very much for what you are doing, it is refreshing to, kind of, know when you are not alone in this world.

    I’ve experienced this as a teacher. Future behaviours/trends/choices that are obvious to me (INTJ) seem outlandish to some parents. Green technology and food choices that are clearly going to be required are labeled extreme by a contingent of families in a group as diverse as a classroom of 30 or a school population. Triggered and threatened is how I see their response because the changes are so obvious to my way of thinking. Thanks for the great video!

    This was really good. I usually don't agree with everything you say but you were spot on. As an INTJ I don't trust anyone and lack any empathy. I don't care as long as my long term strategy prevails. My closest friends are mostly male and some female INFJs. Even though my INFJ friends are socialists (and I'm the complete opposite lol) our types connect in very special ways. Most of my INFJ friends are musicians as well

  • @charmainefrost
    @charmainefrost 3 роки тому +2

    Spot on! How do you describe complex mental imagery or interlocking concepts that form a multilayered, fluid geometry? I have to translate from the “native language” of my mind into the language spoken by everyone “out there”. And often, there are no words to adequately describe the internal images, or the translation into ordinary English would take hours and tax everyone’s patience. So, often, I just drop tidbits or partial insights relevant to the situation.
    I think that developing the extraverted perceiving inferior function can also help. For Ni dom, Se can help one reference tangible specifics in the real world, and help one communicate the essence or an important part of an idea thru analogy, metaphor, illustrative examples, parables and symbolic art.
    Knowledge of some esoteric systems can also help - not because one “believes in” them, but because they often use symbolism and mythic narratives to point to archetypes, recurring themes in human psychology/society. If one knows that the listener is familiar with a system (such as tarot), one can reference an already-known symbol and expand from there - which is easier than “starting from the beginning”. Much is still lost in translation, but the communication is a little less glitchy.....and (if you tailor your approach to your audience, choose a symbology system already known to them) the other person may be more willing to listen, because you’ve started with something familiar to them (haven’t shocked them out of their comfort zone)
    I’ve spent my whole life wondering how I might communicate better (and thinking about communication issues in general, in society). I’m not you, don’t share your life experiences or perspectives; if we’re strangers, we’re likely to “talk past each other” and misinterpret much. If I know you, then I have a clearer picture of what we share in common (beyond our shared humanity) and what you know/value....thus am more likely to find a working “inroad” for explaining an idea; misunderstandings will still arise but may be fewer and, because I know my audience, I can better predict likely “glitch areas” and spot subtle signals of misunderstanding/confusion.

    I appreciate you taking the time to talk about this. I've never quite been able to explain my internal viewpoints to people and my friends tend to not understand where I am coming from with things when I offer an option unless I explain it from beginning to end. Thinking in scenarios is a great way to describe Ni (INFJ). I do tend to simulate my options and decisions almost in a RPG-like format. I can see how playing out "A" would require X # of energy exertion, "B" inflicts damage upon something, "C" avoids the situation altogether, "D" gives me some defense and so on... People tend to see me pause in the real-world as I weigh out these options in my mind and return back with an answer. A suspected INFP friend said she can imagine the block of text 💬 appearing over people in conversation and I immediately resonated with that within myself.

    Really appreciate this video... weirdly makes me feel "heard". It is very difficult to communicate my impressions, which is why I default to art (that I often don't show anyone, haha). Words never seem right whenever I try. I like how you are always using images to communicate the flavor of the idea you're discussing in your videos. So funny... that "head cavern" is a symbol I've used before. 💙

That's actually a big part of why I have a hard time listening to information unless I have something to do that requires present physical sensory awareness but not thought (doodling, coloring, gardening, working on the "doing" part of a project I've already done the creative work on...etc)

    This and the auxiliary functions video show me things I believe you were seeking to.
    I feel like throughout my developing years I neglected my extroverted, objective function in a way that reflects what I've lived through.
    Being an INFJ I feel like I tried to supplant Fe as an auxiliary function with Ti. Doubling introversion may explain my aversion to the most basic aspects of Reality, consequent suicidal intentions, simultaneous to an absurdly strong and sickly absence of self expression. I crawled inward to perfectionism and got addicted to understanding above everything, including my well being and happiness.
    I don't know how much of all this thing of psychological typing is accurate. I've been concerned with this for the last weeks, with my relations to this. But either way, it makes some sense that I didn't have before, I feel understanding myself more than I did, and maybe that's enough. Thank you for helping me understand.
    I want to make clear my perspective, on how well you bring these videos with plenty of themes and details of analysis that I definitely didn't see before with other people involved with typing. You really do a great job in this.

    • @AsuraPsych
      @AsuraPsych  3 роки тому +12

      IPs (Ps in general) tend to be far more comfortable with expression of perception. So what is private and secure for the Pi dominant types is often happily shared and expressed through mediums such as art or poetry with P types.

    • @Sharkuterie327
      @Sharkuterie327 3 роки тому +1

      @@AsuraPsych I'd like to further this distinction, if you agree.... with IP, the expression is often concerned with "how will others interpret this expression and find it valuable?" (hence sharing for the back-and-forth and feedback) while with IJ it would be "is this expression accurate?" (hence only sharing under the circumstance that it meets a standard).

    • @whatthefrizz4836

      I also like to have a better understanding of Fi imagery, Ni visions and Si memories.
      What I noticed in Ni users is that they take their visions more seriously than Ne users and that Ni sometimes identifies with archetypes like warriors and sages. The tarot deck is probably designed by a Ni.
      I’m curious about Si perception as well. Ne is Ni in abundance, never ending inspiration, no need to hold onto it, visions come and go. But if you want to get anywhere and stay focused, Ni very likely wins.

    • @whatthefrizz4836
      @whatthefrizz4836 3 роки тому +2

    Nice.. I haven’t found a way to do this (at least to my satisfaction) in very close relationships... but acting (stage theatre) has allowed me to do this... the rational structure (script) is there as a solid framework to communicate... this limitation of language is needed for translation of my inner vision to flow with others’... Does that make sense? It indeed requires vulnerability, strong Fe, and promotes intimacy, however fleetingly.

    Te-rrific content, AsuraPsych. 3:36 'some weird way'..."The extraverted standpoint would say of him: 'Reality has no existence for him; he gives himself up to fruitless phantasies'.
    A perception of the unconscious images, produced in such inexhaustible abundance by the creative energy of life, is of course fruitless from the standpoint of immediate utility.
    But, since these images represent possible ways of viewing life, which in given circumstances have the power to provide a new energic potential,
    this function, which to the outer world is the strangest of all,
