You would of already realized how unsightly they are not painted so its a job worthwhile.... all the very best painting yours, you will not be disappointed...... mrix
Hi James, its become a little bit of an obsession! maybe more a addiction, thanks for your kind words but that idea maybe a little enthusiastic ha ha, thanks mrix
Great video! I just painted mine. When can I wash the car again? Do I need to wait a certain amount of time before the calipers can get washed w/ a pressure washer? Is wheel cleaner safe to put on like normal or should that be avoided all together? Thanks!
Hi, its only a couple of days and all should be good, one thing to be careful of is if you added decal stickers to the face plate as a jet wash will clean them completely off as it did to mine when a neighbour lent me his jet wash.
Hi I did have a look at many different covers, I am all for a simpler job if I can help it but many of the better covers were expensive and then it got me thinking its a little too fake, painting the calipers is pretty much a one off job that will likely not be required to do again, I am happy with the job I done which still looks great! however being brakes they do get dirty very quickly... mrix
Hi Robert, just a warning I did add a Mercedes decal but after using a jet wash it removed it instantly, I like the idea of a AMG decal and will look into if they do more durable ones... thank mrix
Just seen this reply so sorry for the delay in responding, now yes that makes a lot of sense and I will go down that route of the clear coat.... thank you...mrix
That's interesting Art, however I am a little confused, so are you saying the front disks need swapping around ? the one on the left should be on the front right etc ??? these were fitted by a garage that work on prestige vehicles and its not a job I have done personally myself.... thanks mrix
@@mrix yes that is exactly it, although most people feel that they meant to be fitting the way yours are, but in reality the wider part of the angle > needs to face forward.
I was using it to decrease the calipers which worked great, yes some may of went on the rotors and pads but its not meant to be such a great problem, you can also see I also drenched the whole caliper in hot soapy water which would of removed pretty much most of the degreaser.... mrix
@@mrix I mean as long as you tested them and they worked great then all good. Love your videos by the way. They're detailed but straight to the point. Thank you!
Nice! I've sprayed the center part of the disc to prevent rusting
Thanks, I also have the same thing planned when my current disks finally wear out!.... mrix
Personally I would paint that small plate too but overall great job 👏
Thanks Ricky.....mrix
Good Job, I’m thinking about getting this done !

Your car will be good enough to feature on Jay Leno's garage when your done!

What’re your thoughts on caliper covers?

i like that jack where did you get that from?
Hi John, its the jack that come with the car....... mrix
You can buy an AMG decal on that caliper plate. Would look great. Soon I will paint mine as well. But I will use the brush. :)

@@mrix Thanks for the reply and advice. :) I am sceptical about the decals as well. Hopefully they will stick properly :)
@@mrix tip from other caliper videos i watched today: you need to clear coat the decals :)

Your front brake discs are fitted incorrectly. The drilled holes supposed to scoop air moving forward.

also its not advisable to spray degreaser on rotors or brake pads.
