I had to re read the portion of the brake wear sensor. Sounded like you said wear pad sensor is only on one pad...as in the one sensor for the entire vehicle. One pad sensor for each wheel but outboard only.. Good video, The spline socket head on the outer caliper bracket scared me at first but looks like they are decorative and the retaining bolts are on the inboard side. Another common trick is to hold the caliper to the vehicle with bungee cord, heavy duty Ziptie etc....prevent the caliper from accidentally falling, good risk of puncturing the flexible line, which WILL require bleeding and most likely flushing since you will need new fluid. The C clamp he used to compress the caliper piston, use the pad that is being replaced no since in risking residual grease or fluid on the face of the NEW pad. Sounds like I have a good day off project.
Hey I was wondering is that mercedes benz logo plate removeable on the w212? I have a w207 and you can just pop that off it makes it easier to see stuff and install that little spring clip.
Question: when you remove the little bit of brake fluid from the reservoir, do you leave the cap off the reservoir while working on the brakes or do you put the cap back on while working on brakes ?

Excellent video. I did this on the ground using a jack. I did not have a C clamp to compress caliper. My work around was to press the (free floating) caliper w/ the pads in against the old rotor. Takes some more ooga's, but worked out fine.
I did this on an E400. Not sure if you want to update your meta tags with it, but more people need to see this video first when they search "DIY E400 ..." I ended up searching E350 for this, but only when I realized that they used the same brakes.

Someone stated they needed to hookup a computer after doing a brake job cause the car wouldn't drive after doing a brake job. Obvious it will need the new sensor installed, but will there need to be a computer installed to reset the brakes, like a person resets the service for oil change

Ever run into issues from not replacing the bolts? Those are "self locking (not tty) bolts & Mercedes says to replace them. The caliper bracket bolts are available, but the slide pin bolts (for a 2010 E350 coupe) are non existent. Some pads supply them, Akebono doesn't. Guess I'm reluctantly reusing mine.
Tony F now days rotors are a lot cheaper so it's more efficient to replace and a better repair. The E550 is the same. Just double check if the parts are the exact same.
Just re watched the video in preparation for my planned pad and rotor 100K replacement this weekend. Does not appear any major special tools are required. Also thanks for the Torque values. Can you get a 1/2 inch drive Torque wrench in the fender well? Of course You or a shop can with a lift. I had trouble with my Explorer fender well inside with a 1/2 inch drive that’s why I asked. I ordered some “Wheel Trees” from Amazon. Basically a stud that is threaded on one side but flat and smooth for the rest. For you home mechanics this can help a lot. Since Most European vehicles the lug nut and stun are built as one piece the wheel tree allows you to hang the tire and align the first couple of lug studs on the threaded insert making fairly quick work of hanging the heavy tire without too much work. Thread the wheel tree in hang the tire and as you get the other lug studs aligned and secured you can remove the wheel tree. Sounds like this could pay for itself fairly quickly. I will let you everyone know Sunday.

i have same pads, at 7:26 the "ears" on the pads go over the guide/slides, mine are nowhere near the guide/slides, pads are exact same pattern as the ones that came out. what have i done wrong?
not possible, inner pads have a 3 pronged spring to sit inside the 1 piston, outers have a big dimple to sit in the half of the caliper that is outside the disc/rotor. my question relates to the 4 guides the edges of the pads sit/slide on but i think i had fitted the spring steel retainer wrong, seems ok now
I followed your instructions and now my brake pedal goes almost all the way to the floor. When the car is running it goes to the floor with the first press, then the second press gets tighter. I know it couldn't be air right? I didnt open anything that could cause that besides the master cylinder. I even bled the front brakes and it's still doing the same thing.
Orlando Coats It’s possible I got air in there I would try bleeding it. Also if he’s only does it the first time you did it that’s normal. And if it’s firm from here on out that’s a normal condition.

I even bled each front wheel with assistant from my girlfriend. And both wheels hot a steady stream. No air. But it's still doing the same thing. Wondering if the said is higher up. "power tools" can not " strip the bolts or screws"....Only a person with a profound intellectual disability will strip the bolts or screws if tightening to much....that being said....What makes you think that anyone would care what you may or may like using?
Cheap torque wrenches are more dangerous for stripping. And if you can't afford a top quality torque wrench it's better to go with an appropriate length ratchet manually and use your judgment.
"We're going to remove this clip here on the side of the calipers", as you stand in front of the camera so we can't see the technique you used. Guess I'll look for another video.
You could try Bing it off with your hand but most likely it’s going to need a hammer. If you’re trying to reuse the road or a rubber mallet would work well.

FPV_Arthur it’s recommended on Mercedes. The rotors are soft material and wear very fast. But you get excellent braking because of it.

If your sensor isnt worn or give off any warning signals can you get away with keeping same sensor while changing your pads?

You never looked in the trunk? Mercedes-Benz supplies an aluminum hanging tire rod in their vehicles.

nothing on the electronics? no need to remove battery ground or deactivate brake system?
Nope no need for any of that. This job is pretty straightforward.
