I have an RX 7600, so I can answer this, 30-40fps without the mod or a pretty constant 60 with the mod both at 1080p, with the mod you can hit 1440p at 30-40fps as well
Is this an opitmisation enchancer mod for portal RT? If so youre certainly an awesome dude, no one has ever attempted to do this before. I only have one question. Can you theorotically make it run with a polaris card (got a 580 8gb from XFX) or an apu (also got a ryzen 5 3400g) ?? i just want it to boot into game lol.
Support for older GPUs and APUs is planned, it might take a while due to not having the hardware or testers at the moment, Alpha versions will be released soon for testing

Very good! How did you achieve this? Since you understand this topic, I also wanted to ask why portal rtx on Linux works so much better than on Windows, did nvidia intentionally put a spoke in the wheel for AMD?
It was very simple, we tweaked some settings for RDNA 2 and then patched the code for RDNA 3 with newer code provided by the Nvidia remix devs, also AMD has been improving pathtracing performance which helps out a bit. Linux performs better because it has driver support for Portal RTX while Windows doesn't, which is also why we had to patch it. And Nvidia has actually been helping improve performance for AMD and Intel, I think the reason it was terrible at launch is because they only developed for RTX cards at the time and there was zero driver support since it was brand new tech.
Is there a way to use alt+x menu on RDNA 2? as i've tested this on GMOD RTX and it works, but when changing skybox textures in dev settings, the game lags to hell
The v1.1 version will have a fix. It'll automatically go to the dev menu in the update. It's an issue where going to the graphics menu reverses some config changes
Any way to make it accept 'wrong' Nvidia drivers? I have a laptop with cooling issues and need to run an older driver that doesn't have a broken power targets. I have a 3080 MXM 165w and I'm running it at 80w until I get a new heatsink (it's in the mail, had to order TaoBao or the HS on Ali would have been $250+)
Yes, we've actually did this when attempting to make a GTX mod because it required an older driver. The process requires the modifying of RTX Remix code and then compiling it, Can't guarantee a unsupported driver will work completely fine tho

Does alt x works
If you have a RDNA 3 card, you have the option for alt x, this is because the ultra performance presets are optional for RDNA 3

We only had a 6700 to test, but we did make a low preset for cards like the 6600 that you can try, Quake 2 rtx is being researched at the moment

Any idea how hard it would be for prelude rtx? Tried it, and it doesn’t seem to work right.
That's because Prelude uses different conf files, so mixing and matching won't work, Currently looking into it, testing it on Steam Deck at the moment
