My ride or die item is the air bag, which can launch almost 100 meters up in a matter of seconds, and in sub zero, allows you to get up onto otherwise inaccessible ice burgs
Even more than 100 meters. I always use it for the Jelly Shroom. Goes the 180m all the way! Most underrated Item in the game (after the 2.0 update. Before it was useless).
The best part is that you can also use it as an emergency oxygen supply as well, if I'm remembering correctly, giving it utility even in caves and lower depths. My first playthrough I ignored it entirely, but every time I've replayed Subnautica since, it's permanently in my inventory until I get ready to go to the lava caverns and I'm in vehicles constantly.
At least it's implied that you can keep them down, as opposed to what the pda says about cooked/cured eye-eye. It basically says you struggle not to puke that one up
I didn’t. It was easy Well okay it actually wasn’t easy because BZ has many design flaws, but all those issues were unrelated to pengwings or bioreactors
You should have made grav traps! they make it so much easier to gather fish! And the air bladder for that matter, it makes shallow movement waaaayyyy nicer, and it fits the theme!
I hope you tooka advantage and grabbed some extra bladderfish in the cove tree area! It’s really useful that they spawn down there; they've saved my life once or twice!
For some reason I find the way the player character holds the bladderfish funny, he doesn't just hold it like any other fish, he holds it like he has a vendetta against the poor thing
Fun Fact: a speedrun strat I saw for this game involves crafting a moonpool, then; placing the moonpool right before you drown, respawning in the moonpool, swimming further down, and repeating. This is technically not using a base for oxygen.
Instead of making filtered water, you should have made disinfected water from salt and tube coral, it is worth 35 points of hydration, whereas the filtered water is only 20. You could've been more space efficient with disinfected water.
Tbh disinfected water is my go to, from the beginning to the end of the game. It's actually 30 water per bottle, but you also get two at once so you get 60 water from just a piece of salt and coral tube Plus you can craft the bleach and just not turn it into the water until you need it to save on storage space
So fun to see you back into the ocean! Your one of my favourite creators , your commentary and videostyle are just spot on. Love it!!! Looking forward to seeing the chanel continuing to grow. All the love from Sweden!!!🇸🇪🇸🇪❤️❤️
Dang that was a lot of dedication Although I've been screaming the rebreather the entire time lol, it's basically crucial even if you're trying to go without 02 You can also use bleach to make water which would've heavily reduced your reliance on bladderfish :V
Right? Like, they're there but why wouldn't he just go in the caves in the shallows or near the red sea grass. I'm pretty sure I never went into the jelly mushroom cove until I needed lithium
literally had that thought a few days ago. packed my inventory full of like 20-30 bladderfish and went diving through places I didn't have the gear for
I screwed up when first playing. I couldn't figure out how to make much of the more advanced stuff, but I did find that underwater growing bed. So I grew a trail of the coral that emits bubbles of air to go anywhere deep. I made a trail all over the damn map before I figured out how to make a seamoth.
Have you thought about doing another similar challenge by growing brain coral in exterior grow beds in strategic spots. It is a much slower playstyle, but quite satisfying.
A curious thing, that "dive to a cashe, use contents to dive deeper, to place a deeper cashe" problem, if you instead make it an army trying to cross a desert, is a classic problem in mathmatics and logistics.
Dw your not trippin Their heads are orange and their fins are purplish blue, put their tails (and maybe the fins too if you stretch it) can be seen as pink
Worth mentioning that you only drop "new" items when you die meaning anything you picked up since you left a habitat. Therefore death runs are not risky at all
In the subnautica civilisation you must swim to survive, you can either swim one biome for the peeper or one vertical biome for the bladder fish, nobody swims for the bladderfish
I'm not sure how eating or drinking can fix suffocating. Then again I do play space station where a solution to suffocating from lack of air without an air tank is to chug airloss drugs.

You can build a flotation device with them, which also can give you extra oxygen. You can eat them raw for oxygen. "For what is a fish what has he got if not himself than he has got to say the things he truly feels and that the words of one who kneels the record shows i took the reapers and did it my way"

It's actually not hard to beat the game without killing or eating a single fish (aside from the ones you hit with your seamoth). You just need to be reasonably fast so you can get the edible plants before you run out of nutrient blocks.
You could've built a deep base with no power supply and put an aquarium in it for a bladderfish supply. No power means you don't get oxygen by using it and the aquarium doesn't need it.
