I've had the 36cm version of this for several years now and do my block with 250sqm of lawn. All you need to do is sharpen the blade a couple of times a season and if you let the grass get away from you, pop a wheelie with it and push into the grass blade first and go a bit slower than normal. I've done thigh high grass with it a few times when I haven't been able to mow due to the amount of rain we've had the past year. Have the brushless trimmer and the edger as well and they all get the job done.

I bought the $399 kit with this mower and base level blower and trimmer. I always thought blowers were a ditsy boy toy, but realise it’s going to be awesome for those days the wind blows the leaves off the huge tree hanging over the yard. I love how light these are. Spent today cleaning up the yard, much bigger than your Dad’s yard. I popped my 5ah drill battery in. Only changed battery once between all 3 machines. Spent about 4 hours mowing, trimming and blowing. Love that the batteries are interchangeable. I figure that having such convenient tools I’ll get out to sort the yard out more often. Stoked.

I have this mower and it’s great when your lawn is short. It really struggles with anything too long.
But it’s super light and requires very little maintenance.

As a woman, I find the lightness and ease of operation appealing. I have a smaller lawn but I would take your advice and try the larger version. A neighbour has one and he loves it. At the moment I am still very happy with my 30 year old 4-stroke Rover that usually starts first time. I use the Ryobi blower and line trimmer and my only complaint with the system is that with smaller hands the battery can sometimes be a nightmare to get off the tool to recharge. My latest acquisition is the shrub tool which I love, so much easier than a full size hedge trimmer.

I have a Ryobi 40v. Only use it to mow the ditch. No clue how it would do in tall grass since I mow every week. But it's great for the ditch! Mine is bigger than the one you demo'd. Love your videos Tim!

For those saying you need more than 18V. Power is V x A. Watts is watts is watts. So you can get the same power if you can draw twice the current. So high Ah batteries which can supply more current will work just as well as higher voltage batteries. If you need a higher voltage motor you can always voltage boost.

Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

Ahhhh hahahahah!! Watching you hold that mower up trimming the grass from above was hilarious! It made me watch the video! I’m a subby from your other channel TtLMM. I’m not into tools/power equip, but you make it worth the watch. Plus, who doesn’t like learning? Even if it’s about something you don’t need to know about. Ha.

I've been using the slightly larger 36cm version for 3 years now, and I've been quite surprised with what this thing can do. Many people have told me that for my amount of grass (approx 250m2) that 18V won't do the job, yet it keeps getting it done week after week. If I let it get too long it will take me a while, but if I give it a quick going over every 7-10 days it's easy as. I have mostly a hard leaf Buffalo, and I will admit there's a few super dense spots it doesn't like if they get too long or get wet, but otherwise it does the job fine. Between the mower and my 18V snipper and blower I get the whole job done with about 10Ah worth of battery total. Even took the mower to the race track I run (RC Cars) when the petrol mower died and took down all the knee high Couch and left everyone in disbelief (it also acquired the nickname AA in the process). My partner is a gardener and some clients have lawns that are up 20-30 stairs, this comes in handy as it's nice and light and super agile for those couple of jobs. It definitely won't do the job for every scenario, but I adapted my routine to its capability and it's actually been great.

THIS. This is the mower I was talking about. I HATE mowing, with a passion never seen. So my grass on my tiny block gets a bit long. (I mowed my lawn last weekend, forthe first time since early July.)
If the lawn has ANY moisture to it, it struggles to cut the lawn but you can forget getting anything in the catcher. The catcher is simply a fashion accessory so that it looks like a mower and not a hair dryer.
Having said that, if you have a look at my first (and, at the time of this comment, my only) Shorts video, it did manage to mow my parents yard, which is a reasonable size. But, like your father's, it really didn't need cutting.

Try the Bushmaster Electric Gear. Had over a year now including usage over a wet Qld Summer. I've got the larger mower and the line trimmer. Haven't run out of battery yet with 2 x 5.0 amp hr batteries. Have to be smart though with how you use them.

Do it in 2 stages high cut catcher and low cut in mulch mode takes a bit longer but less clogging and a cleaner finish. A 36-volt is better.

I've used a cylinder mower now for 8 years. Just had to throw away a scotts american mower because I'd worn some of the parts completely out and they don't provide them. Even at that, replaced those before with other "almost right" parts from other cylider/reel types.
I bought a second one this year. Total cost for 8 years of mowing, about $150 including the not-quite right replacement parts along the way and some lapping compound. No fuel.
I am not an environmentalist -at all - but have a severe distaste for the waste stream we create because it's done out of greed and laziness. These battery powered mowers are not going to have a long life, they'll cost enormous amounts and you and I and everyone knows that people are throwing the batteries away in the trash and hiding it.
A cylinder/manual reel and a cordless strimmer or a grass hook is legit. there is no forgetting to charge the battery, just watching a YT video and learning to sharpen and set one, which is about once every year on a half acre for the sharpen and scarcely more than that for setting.

Sounds like a vacuum cleaner. My lawn takes me an hour to do with a regular gas mower. If I was to use this, I would be mowing every day to keep up. My lawn is average sized. I know people who could easily benefit from this.
